00:07The NFL season just a week away and one of the teams that there is a lot of hope, a lot
00:13of promise around is the Los Angeles Rams and a big part of that is because of this
00:18man right here.
00:20He had an incredible, a breakout season last year, ready to do it once again in 2024.
00:27Of course, we're talking about Kyron Williams, star running back and now punt returner too.
00:31Kyron, brother, how are you?
00:32I'm good, Mike.
00:33How are you doing, man?
00:34I'm doing good.
00:35Let's start right there with the punt returning.
00:37We all obviously found out over the last couple of days that I guess added duties this year.
00:42I know you returned a couple last year.
00:44Give me your thoughts on returning these punts, Kyron.
00:47Yeah, you know, it's something that, you know, like you said, I've done before, you know,
00:51something I'm not a stranger to and this allows me to be able to, you know, attack a game
00:55in a different way.
00:56It's allowed me to get in the space with the ball and make, you know, explosive plays happen.
01:02I'm excited for what we got in store for this year.
01:04Yeah, I mean, obviously it's the Rams saying, hey, we want to get the ball in Kyron's hands
01:09as many times as we possibly can.
01:13What about that?
01:14Just the team obviously realizing, recognizing that you are an incredibly dangerous weapon.
01:18Yeah, I think it's cool and I think it's something, you know, that it takes into account for,
01:23you know, how I play this game.
01:25And, you know, I'm excited, you know, to do that, but also I'm still focused on mainly,
01:30you know, being a running back, you know, that's what I do.
01:32That's how, you know, I make my living, you know, and so that's just, you know, I'm excited
01:36for that, you know, I've been working super hard just to be able to continue to keep growing
01:41in that, you know, growing and, you know, being able to get better.
01:44And so I'm excited for, you know, this season, the season to come, you know, and what we
01:49have in store as an offense.
01:50Talk to me about, I mean, you're, you know, you're 300, you're third in rushing last year,
01:56you play in only 12 games, you were, I think, 300 and change yards behind C-Mac, he played
02:02in four more games.
02:03I mean, if you obviously play more games, you lead the lead in rushing last year, second
02:07team All-Pro, Pro Bowler.
02:09What personally are the goals this year, Kyron, after such an incredible season last year?
02:14I mean, I think it's just to continue to, continue to do what I, you know, what I left
02:20on doing, you know, and it's just, it's not to double those or to triple those or do any
02:24double nothing.
02:25It's just to continue to be the person I am, you know, play the game the way that I play,
02:30you know, my goals every season, it's always have a thousand yards.
02:32I think that's very minimal that I got to do.
02:34So, you know, I have basic goals like that, but, you know, there is no, man, go be a two-time
02:40Pro Bowler, go be a two-time All-Pro, like, nah, I'm going to let that happen and that's
02:44going to happen by the way I play.
02:46And so, you know, I'm just focused on, you know, just being me, being who I am and just
02:49being able to play this game the way I play it.
02:52Obviously you care and your focus is on how the team performs on the field.
02:57Ten games, you win ten games last year, obviously the 49ers, one of the best records in the
03:00entire league.
03:01How do you look at the West this year and is this, is the mindset, hey, we're going
03:06to go win this division?
03:07Yeah, I think that's the mindset every year.
03:10Mindset is to go win it all.
03:11I mean, that's just, you know, who we believe ourselves to be.
03:16You know, we put in the work to, you know, be able to have that confidence to say that
03:19we can go do those type of things, you know, that started from last year.
03:23And so, you know, I just think the vision is a lot more clear than it's ever been since
03:27I've been here to where we can go.
03:29And it's just, you know, it's exciting to be able to work every single day to have that
03:33clarity and that, you know, that mindset to where, you know, we're not selling for less,
03:37you know, we're going and we're winning.
03:39And so, that's just, it's cool to be able to, you know, work like that and be able to
03:43have that, you know, as a team.
03:44You know, I'm on Twitter, I'm looking and I see Aaron Donnell out there just casually
03:50beating LeSean McCoy in a foot race.
03:53The guy is clearly in shape.
03:55Have you tried to lobby him, Kyron?
03:57You got one more than you, Kyron?
03:59Yeah, I mean, shoot, there's not much I can say.
04:02It looks like he's enjoying life off the field, you know, he's doing everything, he's back
04:06with his family and whatnot.
04:08So, it seems like he's enjoying what he's doing on the field.
04:10But, you know, we wouldn't mind having him back, no, we wouldn't, I wouldn't mind at all.
04:15Yeah, it would probably be a help, right, to the defense.
04:18All right.
04:19Kyron, talk to me before I let you go.
04:21You are teaming up with DirecTV, DirecTV for Business, to be exact.
04:26What do you got going on?
04:27Yeah, I just, I partnered with DirecTV for Business because for me, it was a no-brainer.
04:31You know, I grew up, I love football, whether that's college football or any other, any
04:35other sports.
04:37Competitive, anything, that nature, I just got to watch it, you know, it's something
04:40cool.
04:41And so, I just remember always growing up that we would go Sundays and go watch the
04:45NFL, you know, at Buffalo Wild Wings or any type of bars that, you know, there was locally.
04:50And so, you know, that's just something that when they came with me, the idea to be able
04:53to partner with them and, you know, I thought back to those times where it would be me,
04:57my dad and my friends just watching, watching the football games, eating wings, it was a
05:02no-brainer for me.
05:03And so, now that all the fans can, you know, know that and now that they can go experience
05:08that, it's something that, you know, it's so cool and it's a full circle moment.
05:13That's so cool.
05:14I probably never could have imagined this happening.
05:17Let me get you out of here on this one.
05:18How excited are you for that Sunday night game?
05:20I mean, you're not starting at like one o'clock on a Sunday.
05:23We got Sunday night against the Lions.
05:26That's about as good as it gets.
05:27Yeah, this is, it's about, this is football, you know, this is Sunday night football.
05:31This is what, like I said, growing up, this is what I used to watch going to bed, you
05:35know, and so, you know, being able to be in these positions, you know, it's a blessing.
05:39I thank God every day for it and just got to remember that, you know, this is what he,
05:43this is what he made me, put me on here to do.
05:45And so, this is, you know, I've got all the confidence to go, you know, have fun and go
05:49play the game.
05:50And so, you know, I'm ready for it.
