00:00These are unidentified flying objects.
00:29Are they proof that we are being visited by civilizations from other stars?
00:46Or just what are they?
01:16I'm going to get some coffee, sir. Can I get you some?
01:43You're all I know, Frank.
01:44It might keep me awake. Okay, I'll be back in a few minutes.
02:04Mr. Rollins, we've picked up some traffic.
02:09Dead ahead, sir. 18 miles, closing at flank speed.
02:20Never seen that happen before.
02:22Malfunction, do you think?
02:24Don't know. It's possible.
02:27Check it out. I'll brief the captain.
02:43That's funny.
02:48Phone's now working. Go to the captain's cabin and brief him.
02:51Yes, sir.
03:05Holy smoke. Anderson.
03:08Yes, sir.
03:10I see it.
04:10Morning, Captain.
04:11Morning, Harry. Got here as soon as I could.
04:14Here, read this, Twix.
04:22Here you go. It's not steak and eggs.
04:26The Atlantic Queen.
04:28I reckon she's one of the biggest boats around.
04:32Ship, Harry. You can put a boat on a ship, but you can't put a ship on a boat.
04:34Yes, sir. But back six miles, it'll float. It's a boat.
04:38Why all the rush? She doesn't dock in New York till late tomorrow.
04:41All the rush, Harry, is because we're flying to Boston in 20 minutes.
04:44Then we'll take a chopper out to the ship.
04:46Couldn't we wait till she got in the port?
04:48Come on, Harry. You know how important the time factor is.
04:50Yes, sir, I know. I just don't like making the Air Force fly all the way out to sea.
04:54Well, that's very considerate of you, Harry, but the Coast Guard's gonna provide the chopper.
04:58Northern steamship lines requested the investigations.
05:00They don't want a lot of rumors flying around, people upset.
05:02Captain, maybe it'd be a good idea if I waited in New York for you and you went on the ship by yourself.
05:07You know how crowded ships can get, those small little staterooms and all.
05:12Harry.
05:14Yes, sir?
05:15What's with you? What's the matter?
05:18Well, sir, to tell you the truth, I get seasick.
05:24No problem. There are seasick pills.
05:26If those don't work, you could have a problem.

07:02You all right?
07:04Captain Ryan?
07:05Right. Steve Rollins, executive officer.
07:07How do you do, Mr. Rollins?
07:08Fine. My partner will be down in a minute.
07:35© BF-WATCH TV 2021
08:00This is Mr. Rollins, the executive officer.
08:02How are you?
08:03Sergeant Fitz.
08:04You gentlemen will follow me. I'll show you to the bridge.
08:06Captain Bergstad is waiting for us.
08:07Fine. Our gear will be down in a second. Can you handle it for us?
08:10All right. Fine. Throw it in his room.
08:29Leaving the bridge, Mr. Evans.
08:31Aye, aye, sir.
08:34© BF-WATCH TV 2021
08:39All right, gentlemen.
08:41I've been in touch with the home office since early this morning.
08:44I feel they overreacted.
08:46There's no reason for investigation until we doubt.
08:49Well, it is a help to us to begin at once, sir.
08:52Ryan, the only reason I allowed you aboard is because I was ordered to.
08:55I've heard Mr. Rollins' incredible account of flying objects.
08:59And I'm sure you realize that a story of this kind could cause panic on this ship.
09:03I understand that, sir.
09:04But we have an investigation to conduct, and the sooner we get underway, the better.
09:07Very well. If nothing else, maybe you can debunk this whole foolish situation.
09:12Captain Bergstad, I know it may seem a little difficult to believe the things that we describe.
09:17But there was something out there. Now, I don't know what it was.
09:20But whatever it was, was real. Now, I'm sure of that much.
09:25I'll see you gentlemen in my cabin when you're finished here.
09:29Mr. Rollins, take the con.
09:30Aye, aye, sir.
09:31Sir.
09:34It's pretty tough for most people to keep an open mind when it comes to UFOs.
09:38Until you've seen one.
09:40Why don't you tell us what you saw?
09:42Yes, of course.
09:43Mind if we record this, sir?
09:45Not at all.
09:47What about the helmsman that was with you?
09:49Oh, that would be Anderson. He's due back on the bridge in a few minutes, if you'd like to wait.
09:52No, that's all right. Why don't you go ahead, sir?
09:54All right.
09:55Well, it was about eight bells. That's 0400 in your language.
09:59We had a blip on our radar screen.
10:01Now, it was coming directly at us at flank speed.
10:03Then all of a sudden, it just disappeared, like that.
10:06Now, I went over to the phone to inform the captain.
10:09The phone was dead.
10:11That's when I sent the radar operator down to the captain's cabin to tell him what was going on.
10:15Now, right after he left, I looked out over the bow.
10:32Anderson!
10:34Yes, sir.
10:36I see it.
10:45What is it, sir?
10:47Captain, find out.
11:01What is it, sir?
11:02I don't know, sir.
11:03I don't know, sir.
11:04I don't know, sir.
11:05I don't know, sir.
11:06I don't know, sir.
11:07I don't know, sir.
11:08I don't know, sir.
11:09I don't know, sir.
11:10I don't know, sir.
11:11I don't know, sir.
11:12I don't know, sir.
11:13I don't know, sir.
11:14I don't know, sir.
11:15I don't know, sir.
11:16I don't know, sir.
11:17I don't know, sir.
11:18I don't know, sir.
11:19I don't know, sir.
11:20I don't know, sir.
11:21I don't know, sir.
11:22I don't know, sir.
11:23I don't know, sir.
11:24I don't know, sir.
11:26NO SCREENING
11:40Mr. Hampire, did you see the second one?
11:41It was right up above us.
11:42No, sir.
11:43Another one?
11:44Yes.
11:45It was incredible.
11:46AND ALIVE
11:47That's still dead.
11:49I'm gonna see if it's
11:50still out there.
11:52But it wasn't there.
11:53I never saw it again.
11:55Now, gentlemen, I have been at sea most of my adult life and I have seen a lot of strange things.
12:00But never, never anything like that.
12:03Did either of the objects ever touch down on the ship?
12:05Not that I saw, but it's possible that the second one could have.
12:08All right.
12:10Thank you, Mr. Rollins.
12:12What are you going to do now?
12:13Check things out?
12:15See if we can come up with any kind of physical evidence.
12:18Well, there's a slim chance of that, isn't there?
12:21We have to try, sir.
12:23Well, if there's anything you need from me or my staff, you just ask.
12:26Thank you. We'll be in touch.
12:38Gentlemen, Captain.
12:40Please have a seat.
12:47Well, what's your opinion?
12:51About what, sir?
12:53Well, Mr. Rollins' preposterous story, of course.
12:57Would you say he hallucinated or was he simply lying?
13:01There is a third possibility, sir.
13:02And that is that he was telling the truth.
13:06We're being invaded by flying saucers, beings from outer space.
13:10We're supposed to be responsible men, Mr. Ryan.
13:12Are you saying that you can honestly accept such an outlandish premise?
13:16We haven't accepted anything yet, sir.
13:18Or rejected anything.
13:21If Mr. Rollins saw something, it doesn't necessarily mean it was extraterrestrial.
13:25Sit down.
13:28I think it's only fair to give you a little of Mr. Rollins' background.
13:33It's probably the dream of every seafaring man to come in a deep keel vessel someday.
13:40Mr. Rollins is no exception.
13:42Now, don't get me wrong, he's a fine officer.
13:45But I'm afraid he's a little bit too ambitious for his own good.
13:50What do you mean, sir?
13:52Well, I'm getting close to retirement age.
13:54Another year, I'll be on the beach.
13:57Mr. Rollins can have this command if he's patient, but I don't think he wants to wait.
14:01I think he would like to expedite matters.
14:04Even to the point of fabricating a story about UFOs?
14:07Anything to cast a little doubt on my command.
14:10What about the helmsman? He confirmed one of the sightings.
14:13Well, he could be saying what Mr. Rollins told him to say.
14:18Do you feel all the men are against you, sir?
14:23No, Ryan.
14:26I'm not paranoid.
14:29I understand the feelings of the men under me. I came up through the ranks myself.
14:33Man at the top is always fair game.
14:36Occupational hazard.
14:48Captain? Yes.
15:07I wonder if I could have a few words with you. I'm Ollie Hires.
15:10I know. I grew up on the Ollie Hires show. I'm Ben Ryan. Come in.
15:15This is Harry Fitz. Hello, Harry. How are you?
15:17Hi, Mr. Hires. I reckon you were my favorite TV comedian.
15:20You got beautiful taste.
15:22Whenever your show came on TV, that was the one night of the week I always had my homework done early.
15:27Well, it's nice to know I still got a couple of fans left.
15:29Sit down, sir. Sure.
15:31Would you like some coffee?
15:32Nope. Never drink it this early. Keeps me up all day.
15:36Is there something we can do for you, Mr. Hires?
15:39Not Mr. Hires yet, Dolly, huh, fellas?
15:42Well, let's get to why I came to see you.
15:46Something happened last night, fellas, I think you should know about.
15:49Well, why don't you go ahead and tell us, Ollie?
15:51Is it okay with you if we record this?
15:53Oh, yeah. I'm always much better if you got a microphone.
16:00Well, let me see. It was about maybe four o'clock in the morning, and I...
16:05Well, I just finished my last lounge show a little while before, and I couldn't sleep.
16:10I guess I'm what they call a night fella, you know, and I...
16:13Well, I never get to bed before dawn anyway, so I went up on deck, figured I'd look at the stars.
16:18It was kind of cold and clammy, but it felt good, you know what I mean?
16:43Well, I guess I'm what they call a night fella, you know, and I...
17:13Hi.
17:24No offense meant, sir, but, you know, once you guys start moving in, there goes the neighborhood.
17:43There's a man standing there, and there's light, and this guy comes out, and...
17:54Oh, where? What are you talking about?
17:55Oh, listen to me.
17:57Rollins organized a searching party, but I guess they didn't find anything.
18:01Well, Rollins must have believed your story then.
18:03Well, I guess so, but he didn't even question me. He just got together with a bunch of guys and took off.
18:12Hey, he didn't say anything to you fellas about it, did he?
18:15No. No, he didn't.
18:18Mr. Harris, did the humanoid try to communicate with you in any way?
18:22No. Just gave me a glassy stare, you know, like this.
18:25I had an audience like that once in Boise, Idaho.
18:34Ollie, will you show us the place where the humanoid came on board?
18:37Sure. It's up on the promenade deck.
18:39You know something, fellas? I've been a comic all my life.
18:42I've made up gags about everything from movie stars to inflation.
18:46But what I saw last night is no joke. Believe me.
19:09Yeah. Yeah, this is it. Right here.
19:24I'm standing about here, and this character comes down to beam a light.
19:28Wow, what an entrance.
19:30And he winds up about right where we are.
19:51Picking up anything here?
19:52No, sir. Just normal background.
19:55When you're finished, take a sample of the stained part of this railing.
19:58Yes, sir.
20:07Ollie, can you describe the odor?
20:08Yeah, it was kind of like a strong ammonia with a capital A.
20:14I mean, but strong.
20:16Anything like this?
20:17Yeah, that's it.
20:20Okay, Harry, take some scrapings from this deck, too.
20:22Yes, sir.
20:23Is this the door the humanoid went through?
20:25Yeah, that's it.
20:31Do you know where this leads?
20:33No, I didn't follow Rawlins.
20:34I went back to my cabin, had a couple of drinks, and went to sleep.
20:40Ollie, you never said what happened to the UFO.
20:42Well, after I talked to Rawlins, I walked back to the rail, and by that time, it was gone.
20:48Harry, finished?
20:49Yes, sir.
20:52Hey, what do you fellas do with all those bits and pieces you scrape together?
20:56We'll take them back to Wright-Patterson for analysis.
20:58What'll that show?
20:59Ollie, we don't play any guessing games.
21:01We have to wait till they're analyzed, and when we get the results, we'll get in touch with you.
21:04Oh, and then give me the MS.
21:07The MS, the whole truth. You don't hold anything back.
21:11The MS, Ollie.
21:13Hey, can I ask you something, Ben?
21:15Have you fellas ever proved there is such a thing as a flying saucer?
21:19No, but we haven't given up.
21:21Oh, but then, if you prove that my story is right, it'll be kind of like a first.
21:27I guess you could say that.
21:29Hey, that'd be terrific. What a routine.
21:31Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. A funny thing happened to me on the way to Venus.
21:42Well, the reason I didn't say anything about Ollie Hyre's sighting
21:45is because the way he described it, it just sounded too absurd.
21:48But you did send out a search party.
21:50Yes, I did. I guess I let the events of the evening cloud my judgment.
21:54Does that go for your sighting, too, sir?
21:56No, no. No, I will stand behind my previous statements.
22:00When you saw Mr. Hyre's on deck, how did he seem to you?
22:04You're asking me if he was drunk?
22:06That, and his general behavior.
22:09Well, with Ollie, it's always a little difficult to tell.
22:12He's always on stage, as far as being drunk is concerned.
22:16I guess I've never really seen him 100% sober.
22:19I'm sure that's why he's had so many problems with his career.
22:22His reputation precedes it.
22:24How did he get this job?
22:27His agents sold the company a story about how he had reformed, how good he was.
22:32All he needed was another chance.
22:34Do you feel he hasn't reformed?
22:38Being a comic in a ship salon is not going to do a great deal for a man's career.
22:44But having an encounter with an alien being,
22:47that'll put your name on the front page of every newspaper in the world.
23:05Yoo-hoo! Yoo-hoo, soldiers!
23:15Yes, isn't it exciting?
23:17Spaceships and visitors from other planets.
23:20And I was afraid this was going to be a dull voyage.
23:24Oh, I'm Marlene Baker.
23:26I'm Captain Ryan, Mr. Sergeant Fitz.
23:28Oh, won't you sit down?
23:30Well, I guess...
23:31I just love soldiers.
23:32You know, my second husband was a soldier.
23:34Maybe you knew him.
23:36General McAlpine?
23:38No, ma'am, I don't think so.
23:40Is there something we can do for you, Mr. Baker?
23:42Well, I certainly hope so. Are you married?
23:46No, ma'am.
23:47Oh, please, don't call me ma'am.
23:49Marlene, I insist.
23:51I'm old enough. I don't need any reminders.
23:53Age-like beauty is in the eye of the beholder, Miss Marlene.
23:57And a lady of your beauty is truly ageless.
24:00Oh, you're so young.
24:02Oh, what a shame.
24:04Well, certainly been nice meeting you, Marlene.
24:06Oh, but I haven't told you yet.
24:08Told us what?
24:10Well, at first, I thought it was the medication I was taking.
24:13I have high blood pressure, you know.
24:15Actually, it runs in the family.
24:17I remember my great-aunt Sophie...
24:19Marlene, the thing you wanted to tell us.
24:21Oh, oh, yes, yes.
24:23Well, it was very early in the morning, 4 or 4.30.
24:25I got up, went to the door.
24:27I was a little frightened of all the noise, but I still peeked out.
24:30Young man?
24:32What in the world is going on around here?
24:34Please, ma'am, get back in your cabin and lock your door.
24:36Why? Look, I demand to know what's happening.
24:38I will, ma'am.
24:40I don't want to get in any more trouble.
24:42Get out.
24:44And don't you ever put your foot down.
24:46I'll let you know when I'm done.
24:48I don't want to get in any more trouble.
24:50Get out.
24:52I'll let you know when I'm done.
24:54I won't.
24:56I said, get out!
24:58I wish I could tell you, but I've got no idea.
25:00All I know is you'd better stay inside.
25:28I came to a little later.
25:42I went back to my room, locked the door.
25:44I tried to sleep, but of course I couldn't.
25:47And now look.
25:48At what, ma'am?
25:49Why, at these, of course.
25:52If I don't get at least eight hours sleep, I look simply dreadful.
25:56That doctor in Switzerland was supposed to have fixed them, and it's only been a year.
26:01Do you think I should sue him?
26:03Marlene, can you describe the man you saw?
26:05A man?
26:06Why, my dear, this was not a man.
26:08It was a creature with a huge head, no hair, no ears, and the most dreadful little mouth,
26:12and beady eyes.
26:13Beady eyes?
26:14Yes.
26:15Kind of shifty-like.
26:16And his skin.
26:17Ugh.
26:18It's all pasty-looking.
26:19Marlene, have you told anyone else about this?
26:21No.
26:22No, I haven't.
26:23Actually, I was a little embarrassed.
26:24You know, kind of fainting.
26:25I mean, I haven't fainted since I was 16.
26:28Well, thank you for telling us all this.
26:31Oh, but what's going to happen now?
26:34We still have a lot of investigating to do.
26:36If anything, you turns up, we'll be in touch with you.
26:39Oh, that would be nice.
26:40Oh, dear, I really have to run.
26:41I have a date with a charming little man.
26:43He doesn't speak a word of English.
26:45Goodbye, you...
26:46Did that really happen, or was it just a dream?
26:50It was a dream, Harry.
26:54A dream.
27:19Look at this, Harry.
27:22This stain is mottled, like weathering, like it's been here for some time.
27:26Then that beam of light couldn't have caused it.
27:29No way.
27:30I wonder how many other people are going to start telling these stories.
27:34It could get contagious.
27:36I hope it doesn't become an epidemic.
27:52What the hell is he doing back here?
27:54Did you forget something?
27:55No, we were trying to trace the route of our alleged alien,
27:58see if we could establish where he was going.
28:00Can you do that?
28:01We know he went through that door,
28:03and he passed by Marlene Baker's cabin.
28:05And we know what direction he headed from there.
28:07Well, what difference does it make where he was headed?
28:10I'm not sure.
28:11I'd like to find out.
28:12Could you go with us?
28:13It'd save time.
28:14Yeah, sure.
28:15All right, now we...
28:17We know Mrs. Baker was standing right about here.
28:21The alien was standing here,
28:23and we saw those two eyes.
28:25So, what are we going to do?
28:27I'll show the way.
28:28Are you sure?
28:29I am.
28:30I mean, no, absolutely sure.
28:33All right now we know mrs. Baker was standing right about here alien came
28:45from there and continued on let's go
28:51what does this door lead to that's a back way up to the bridge is it always
29:03locked always who has a key just the captain myself and the first mate what
29:07does this give eventually down to the cargo hold you fire up the scintillator
29:11here what's that for check for radiation
29:27carrying radioactive material yes we are but it's sealed and lead containers
29:32let's take a look I'll take this here
29:50are you gentlemen just follow me
30:02I
30:32let's get it Harry
30:57not open all the way
31:02do you know exactly what's in here radioactive isotopes industrial right I
31:13don't think any real damage has been done short-term exposure is not too
31:17dangerous over an extended period that could be a problem how do you think it
31:22got turned over who knows probably some idiots stack it up on top of the other
31:26ones then the motion of the ship knocked it off the question is when captain
31:32do you suppose it's possible that this alien had some sort of instrumentation
31:38with him that could sense this radioactivity if we concede there was an
31:41alien it's possible or was it the alien who opened it
31:53so far there were two separate sightings of the UFO one by mr. Rollins and one by
31:58Ollie and two separate encounters with the humanoid
32:00Ollie's and Marlene's right plus the radioactive material well that could be
32:03just coincidental there's still a lot of unanswered questions what happened to
32:07the target on the radar scope why didn't the phones work what caused the odor
32:11these questions won't be answered until we get the samples back from right
32:15Patterson what about the other questions
32:19I just bet you're all talking about our alien right just everybody's asking me
32:25about it isn't it too my lonely how about you and me taking a little stroll
32:30around the poop no Ali you won't let you're in here I didn't even know you
32:33were interested in me well remember the old saying what is the old saying why
32:37it's so old I forgot it okay something tells me I'm gonna need this
32:46mr. Rollins yes sir when we talked to captain Bergstad he had some things to
32:58say about you we'd like to hear your side well thank you for that much anyway
33:03at least that gives me a sporting chance you see I know what the captain thinks
33:07about me correct me if I'm wrong good officer but too ambitious and trying to
33:12force him into an early retirement now I can see I'm right on the button well
33:18I plead guilty to the ambitious part I am and I am qualified to take over my
33:23own command which I will do one day but I will do that on my own merit not due
33:29to someone else's misfortune and gentlemen I would never ever allow my
33:35ambition to get in the way of my loyalty loyalty to whom sir to the captain to
33:42this ship and my company in that order a gentleman if you'll excuse me I have
33:47duties to perform elsewhere I believe him I think I do too still it's
33:59something that's bothering me and I can't put my finger on it anyway I can
34:04help no listen let's go back to where Ali had
34:10his encounter one more time figured it out yet what what's been bothering you
34:29oh no
34:35oh there you are I've been looking all over for you well I guess you found us
34:41yes of course I did you're right here is there something you wanted miss Marlene
34:45yes tonight's the last night at sea party and I want both of you to join me
34:49at my table oh that's very kind of you mrs. Baker but you know I was supposed
34:52to sit at the captain's table tonight but he had to invite some stuffy old
34:55ambassador I'm really very annoyed with him I was supposed to sit at his table
34:58last night for the masquerade party but he made up some silly excuse about some
35:02prince or other having to sit there now don't you think that was dreadfully rude
35:05of him well yes ma'am I suppose anyway you will sit with me won't you well I
35:11don't see how we can turn down an invitation like that oh good I just love
35:15men in uniform reckon we've been had Kevin by an expert
35:23come on Harry I think I know the man we have to talk to
35:28Harry we're starting to get a handle on this thing next thing we have to do is
35:32call the commander and chief Atlantic fleet yes sir
35:34Kevin you know I've been thinking it's too bad we didn't get here one day
35:39sooner why is that well that way we could have gone to the masquerade you
35:43know I hadn't been to one of those since I was a junior in high school I remember
35:47I went is to count Harry you're beautiful oh no sir or some of the girls
35:52back six mile did think I was right cute
36:22Wow hey thank you my gosh you're such a good audience I wish I had a better act
36:41well you know this is kind of a return engagement for me here on this ship
36:45really yeah I just did a show here in 1941 must have been a big hit they
36:50couldn't wait to get me back listen I don't know whether the whole world's on
36:54a diet or people just can't afford to eat anymore everything is so expensive
36:59Wow cheaper to eat the money I'm not kidding we went to a restaurant in Paris
37:04the other night place called La Petite something I don't know it must mean boy
37:10this is expensive because we sold a car we went in picked up the menu you
37:15wouldn't believe it t-bone steak $17.50 with meat on a 35 I'm a nut I ordered a
37:23steak darn thing was so small I had to call a waiter over I said hey close the
37:27window blew off the plate nine times then after dinner this guy had the nerve
37:32to walk over and say how did you find your steak so I just moved the onions
37:38there it was I guess by now you folks know we've got an alien on board well I
37:54mean nobody's ever even questioned him they don't know whether he an American
37:57an Englishman Frenchman we can't if you know it must be very difficult for those
38:01immigration guys you ever stand and watch him where they were the immigrants
38:04come into a new country I was up in Canada once it's the truth
38:07fella come up and say are you an American said yes he's what are the
38:11words that star spangled banner I don't know me you're an American come in I was
38:18talking to a couple of our Air Force guys and they told me they have
38:22definitely found there is no human life on the planet Mars really no they've
38:26never asked the United States for a loan hey you've been dialed thank you and
38:32remember the old saying a friend in need is a pest
38:46wonderful oh you have such good taste hey fellas come on what's happening
38:52quite a bit actually Olly if you'll meet us in the lounge in a half an hour I
38:56think we can explain a lot of things okay you got me you were terrific I
39:00thought so
39:13well what we're gonna tell you is not meant to be an absolute solution to all
39:18the questions that have been raised what we'll try to do is present reasonable
39:22logical alternatives to what you believe you experienced kind of a mental hocus
39:27huh now you see it now you don't not exactly we do have some hard facts to go
39:32along with our suppositions now first of all we contacted the commander-in-chief
39:38Atlantic Fleet and they confirmed a nuclear sub was in your vicinity last
39:42night that could have been the traffic that you picked up on your radar
39:57when it submerged it simply disappeared off your screen then we checked with
40:01your electrician he had some rewiring to do and he picked the time he thought
40:05would cause the least inconvenience so at four o'clock this morning he closed
40:09off the switching unit to one of the phone lines unfortunately he forgot to
40:14notify you ahead of time but even with all that how does that explain what
40:23Ali and I saw in the sky
40:34these are the meteorological reports yeah thank you
40:39no in essence what they say is that early this morning there was fog
40:42visibility less than 1 16th of a mile also there was a full moon hanging low
40:48on the horizon okay a strange reading on the radar scope and then the
40:53unexplained failure of the phone set up a psychological framework that could
40:57have easily affected your judgment you anticipated something ominous it is
41:01possible sir that the fog dissipated just enough to allow the moon to show
41:05through what we're saying is that it's possible you and the helmsman merely
41:09misread a very natural phenomenon
41:13what about the second one that I saw no I know that wasn't the moon no sir it
41:22was seagulls seagulls a large flock of gulls sir the moonlight plus the lights
41:30from the ship reflected off their wings given the impression of being a solid
41:34object which brings us to all a sighting
41:38now we checked with the officer in charge of maintenance and that stain on
41:42the railing was caused a couple of years ago when some lamp black it's like
41:45soot got into their varnish that they were using it was discovered quickly so
41:49only a small portion of the railing was affected then this morning something
41:54else happened a crewman was moving a container of ammonia from a storage
41:59locker to the aft deck unfortunately they had an accident
42:05now the crewman succeeded in washing away the mess but the odor remained the
42:15strong odor of ammonia I don't know you guys are weaving a beautiful story but
42:21you're forgetting one little thing there were no seagulls and I certainly know
42:25the moon when I see it now that human creature was standing right in front of
42:30me he was as close to me and as you are
42:48I saw him too I mean I was so close to him I could have almost touched him is
42:53this what you saw
43:00we borrowed this mask and the outfit from the ship's boutique one of the
43:14passengers had planned to wear to masquerade last night however he had a
43:17few too many and he missed the masquerade but he did wander around the
43:21deck later which is when you saw him
43:30what do you think Marlene Holly gee I don't know this could be and what's
43:38pretty close I guess I I don't understand well I do captain Ryan sergeant
43:45Fitz as far as I'm concerned this episode is closed well done thank you
43:49well wait a minute captain I don't mean any disrespect to anybody but let's get
43:55this thing right I know you guys have worked hard and you've come up with a
43:59lot of great theories but damn it I saw that spaceship and I saw that stream of
44:03light in that thing whatever it was walked down and nobody or nothing is
44:09gonna convince me that I imagined it that's the way it was we're not trying
44:13to convince you of anything Ollie we're just trying to show you what we found if
44:16it was a spaceship or an alien we just don't have any hard evidence to prove it
44:20on the other hand we can't disprove it either so if it's any comfort to you
44:24Ollie this will go down in our records as a true unknown I guess it's better
44:30than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick huh I guess that takes care of
44:36that mr. Rollins sir shall we go back to work
44:42aye aye sir now I don't know about uh not Ollie but I'll buy your story we
44:51really weren't trying to sell it I know that but I uh I'm a sucker for happy
44:55endings no Oh captain Ryan I'm sorry to bother you captain I'm Ellen Farrell
45:09this is my daughter Becky hi Becky pleased to meet you mrs. Farrell this
45:12is sergeant Fitz ma'am may I speak to mama please
45:16show the step over here there's nothing we can do for you well I'm not sure I've
45:21hesitated talking to you but after all the stories I've heard I thought maybe I
45:26should you have some information about the reported sightings I think so some
45:31information something you saw no something my little girl saw would you
45:37care to tell us about it yes I guess I'd better I didn't find out about this
45:43until I woke up of course and Becky told me but as I understand it this is what
45:48happened Becky woke up and went over to get her dog
46:18in the morning Becky told me all about it of course she told me in a way that
46:37only a mother could understand a big airplane was standing still a funny
46:41looking man got out and walked across the air to the boat
46:49I must have been exciting Becky were you scared why didn't you tell us all
46:58this sooner mrs. Farrell well naturally I didn't take Becky seriously I thought
47:04it was just a little girl's imagination you know like seeing lions and tigers in
47:08her room I just didn't believe her that is until I heard the other stories
47:18I
47:39stay plugged into sci-fi for cybernet which begins after the break
47:48you
