00:00A large part of the country is heavily raining right now and we are also experiencing strong winds due to the combined effects of the Enteng and Habagat typhoons.
00:12For more information, we asked for an update from Pagasa Weather Specialist, Veronica Torres. Good afternoon, Ms. Torres.
00:20Good afternoon to you and to all of our viewers on PTV4.
00:24Earlier this morning, the center of Enteng's eye was 85 kilometers east-southeast of Valer Aurora.
00:34Strong winds of 75 kilometers per hour were blowing near the center and reached up to 90 kilometers per hour.
00:41It was moving in the direction of northwest at a speed of 15 kilometers per hour.
00:46And because of this, we have signal number 2 in the northern portion of Ilocos Norte and in the eastern portion of Calinga.
00:52Like the Babuyan Islands, northern portion of Aurora, Polilio Islands, northern portion of Camarines Norte.
01:00Signal number 1, in Maybatanes, a large part of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, eastern portion of Pangasinan.
01:07In Bayabra, a large part of Calinga, Mountain Province, Fugao, Benguet, Nueva Vizcaya, a large part of Aurora, Nueva Ecija, eastern portion of Pampanga, eastern portion of Bulacan.
01:19Metro Manila, a large part of Quezon, Rizal, Laguna, eastern portion of Batangas.
01:25Marinduque, a large part of Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, and Albay.
01:31In the strongest winds, 100 to 200 millimeters of rain brought Enteng to the northern and central portion of Quezon.
01:38Like the Polilio Islands, Rizal, Laguna, Metro Manila, Cavite, Zambales, Bataan, Nueva Ecija, eastern portion of Bulacan, Aurora, eastern portion of Isabela.
01:48Like the Babuyan Islands and Benguet.
01:5150 to 100 millimeters of rain brought Marinduque, Romblon, Camarines Norte, a large part of Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Valley, Central Luzon, and Calabarzon.
02:05It is possible for Enteng to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Wednesday, September 4.
02:13And that is the latest from the Weather Forecasting Center of Pagasa, Veronica Torres.
02:18Ms. Torres, we have a question for you.
02:21Before, we had Karina and she enhanced Habagat.
02:25In the case of Enteng, will this also have an effect on Habagat?
02:31Yes, it has enhanced Habagat.
02:33Although, for today, the heavy rain in Metro Manila has a direct effect on Enteng and we have signal number 1.
02:43Okay, so is it possible for the direction of Enteng to change?
02:49We are not removing the possibility that it will change direction.
02:52But we have an area of probability that if we notice on the track, it is enclosed inside a transparent white area.
03:03And in the area of probability, it may not reach the center of Matan or its center in case Enteng shifts northward or southward.
03:13Let's ask again about Habagat.
03:15Because our countrymen are really dependent on Habagat.
03:19So, more or less, it can increase or decrease.
03:23Where is the place of Habagat?
03:26Yes, it can enhance Habagat.
03:28But in the areas of Northern and Central Luzon, Enteng has a direct effect.
03:35In areas of Palawan area, Habagat can still cause rain.
03:44Okay, can you give us an update on our dams?
03:50In our dams, we have HND.
03:54They are more on the expert side.
03:57In that area, we are more on weather forecasting.
04:02And this month of September, we are just starting.
04:06How many storms are we expecting?
04:09In September, the number of possible storms to enter our park is 2 to 3.
04:21So, for this month, 2 or 3 storms.
04:23And your message to our countrymen?
04:27Let's just be careful and always be updated on the advisories coming out of Pag-asa.
04:33And coordinate with our DRR officers.
04:37Thank you very much, Pag-asa Weather Specialist Veronica Torres.
