Former Taipei Mayor Hau Lung-pin was in Keelung to show support for Mayor George Hsieh after the Central Election Commission set a recall vote for October 13. Opponents gathered enough signatures for the vote after the city council accused Hsieh of abusing power in a real estate deal while also mismanaging the city's budget.

00:00Allies of Jilong Mayor George Hsieh, including former Taipei Mayor Hao Longbin, rallied this weekend, a month ahead of a looming recall vote.
00:09On Oct. 13, we will face the election, so I would like to invite Mayor Hao Longbin to support us.
00:22Residents gathered the signatures needed for a recall petition after the City Council accused Hsieh of abusing power in a shopping mall real estate transaction.
00:31The Central Election Commission set the recall vote for Oct. 13.
00:35If at least 25% of eligible Jilong residents vote in favor of the recall, and more vote in favor than against, Hsieh will be removed from office.
00:44Residents also say Hsieh's administration is falling short on election promises and budget management.
00:50I have never cared about the needs of the citizens.
00:55What the citizens need is not a car that can be driven around, nor is it a random artificial grass.
