I've worked for The Portsmouth News for the past two and a half years and have found a love for food and drink in the city. Portsmouth is a thriving hub of restaurants, pubs and bars. We will be celebrating food and drink this September.

00:00Hi, I'm Sophie, and I work for the Portsmouth News, which is part of National World.
00:06I am a food and drink reporter, which is as good as it sounds.
00:12I focus on food and drink places in the city and its surrounding areas, and boy, we have
00:19some places.
00:20We are such an amazing city when it comes to food and drink, and I think everybody rises
00:27to the occasion every single time.
00:30We have people coming in to the city throughout the year.
00:33Tourism for food and drink is exceptional, and I always feel really blessed when I have
00:39the opportunity to go and meet business owners and people that are working in the industry
00:44in the city.
00:47The city has so many amazing food and drink places, whether it's cafes, bars, restaurants.
00:56I think that the thing that sets Portsmouth aside from everybody else that's a little
01:01bit different is there is something that suits everybody.
01:05We have dog-friendly places, we have family-friendly places, there are immersive bars, we have
01:11a pirate-themed bar, we have a horror-themed bar.
01:14We as a city have so many different food and drink venues, and we are kind of known along
01:21the coast for being a massive food place, a food area.
01:27We bring in people for the food, and I'm not complaining.
01:31We are so lucky to have some incredible food and drink places, and that is why I love working
01:39in this city as a food and drink reporter.
