00:00Here in victory lane at Darlington Raceway with Richard Boswell, the crew chief of the
00:03number 14 who is now a Southern 500 champion.
00:06You're also punched your ticket in the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs.
00:10Emotions were high for this team, I know, going into this one, but especially there
00:13at the end.
00:14What were you feeling when you knew that you guys were going to win it?
00:16Well, I don't necessarily knew that we were going to win it until we got off of turn four.
00:21I knew Kyle would throw it down in there into turn three, and I mean, he's just a class
00:26actor, right?
00:27Everybody races clean, and we respect that, and we appreciate that, but yeah, you know,
00:33this is a surreal moment for all of us.
00:34We've been through a lot at this organization this year, and you know, our kind of mantra
00:40for the team has just been, let's control what we can control, and we had a really tough
00:44go in the middle of the summer months, and you know, when things get tough within the
00:52team, it's hard, right?
00:54And Chase and I had a good talk this week, and you know, he promised me he was going
00:57to bring his best, and I told the guys we were going to bring our best, and that's what
01:01everybody did.
01:02So just super proud of them.
01:04I know with Stuart Haas Racing, there is a lot of people who don't know what they're
01:06doing for their future.
01:07It's the last year of this racing organization.
01:10What does this do?
01:11What spark does this add to the men and women at SHR?
01:13Well, you know, as soon as this happened, you know, I sent as many people as I knew
01:17names and numbers for everybody on this 14 team because they're one of the best groups
01:22in the garage.
01:23I truly believe that, and they've made my job when I came into this deal about a year
01:26ago super easy, and I'm just super thankful for all of them.
01:30This is a credit to all of their hard work.
01:32This is a credit to the race cars that they build, and everybody at Stuart Haas Racing
01:35has been through a lot this year, so I think this just credits the fact that we are a race-winning
01:40organization.
01:41I'm super proud to be able to be the ones to get us there.
01:44Finally, we head to three racetracks that are all very different, very intense for their
01:48own reasons.
01:49How do you attack these next three weeks with the 14 team?
01:52You know, honestly, I would say until tonight, Atlanta was our best race of the year.
01:55We had a great car.
01:56Chase was super aggressive all night long.
01:58We got caught in a late-race incident that took us out of contention for the win, so
02:02I look at that as an opportunity for us to go in there and find our way into the round
02:05of 12.
02:06So, after that, Watkins Glen and Bristol.
02:09Watkins Glen, we had a good car last year, and Bristol, we got to do the tire test there
02:12this year, so we're looking forward to all three of them.
