00:00While the public and private schools in Metro Manila and Calabarzon will be suspended tomorrow,
00:06the government officials are still working in Baguio-Enteng.
00:10Different parts of Metro Manila were hit by the quake earlier in Baguio-Enteng.
00:14And in Navotas, a ship was burned.
00:16Watch this. This is Joseph Moro.
00:21It seems that the strong wind of Baguio-Enteng is making it easier for the fire in Embicamila near Navotas Sentinel Park.
00:28It's been 30 minutes since a ship that is anchored here in Navotas was burned.
00:34And the Bureau of Fire Protection is checking if the ship is loaded.
00:39Because of the strong wind of Baguio-Enteng,
00:41which is accompanied by strong winds,
00:43the ships anchored here in Navotas are being swept away by the strong waves.
00:49At first, the BFP was unable to approach the ship so that the fire could be extinguished.
00:52Then, a tugboat approached from the side of the ship.
00:56After a few minutes, the fire became stronger and the ship was almost hit.
01:00Eighteen passengers of the ship were rescued according to the PCG Navotas Substation.
01:05Two were injured.
01:07The fire was still being extinguished.
01:09Aside from Embicamila, there were two other ships that were damaged by the strong waves in Navotas.
01:15Some parts of the dock were destroyed after the ships were swept away.
01:19We need to hold a marine protest.
01:22And of course, we need to talk to the owner.
01:25Show it to them.
01:27And hopefully, they can repair it immediately.
01:30The water reached the gutter deep in some parts of Navotas earlier,
01:33but it also quickly reached the shore.
01:35The Navotas floodgate that was destroyed last June was fixed.
01:39In Las Piñas, the riprap in Las Piñas-Sapote River Drive continued to flow.
01:44Ten to twenty barangays were flooded.
01:47Around 3 a.m., the water reached Sapote Junction.
01:51Some parts of Paranaque were also flooded.
01:54In Pasay, the wind was so strong that the workers were forced to go to work.
01:58The strong wind also hit the trees and posts in the canton of Padre Burgos and Rojas Boulevard in Manila.
02:05Some parts of Baseco Compound were also flooded.
02:08Water was flowing down the road from Manila Bay.
02:12In Quezon City, the water reached the residents living in the lower parts of Rojas District.
02:17The water reached the gutter in some places.
02:20The Lumicas Evacuation Center has 800 residents.
02:24The water quickly reached the Marikina River due to the heavy rain of the storm earlier this morning.
02:30From 15 meters before 8 a.m., the water reached 17 meters.
02:35It was past 9 a.m. earlier.
02:37That's why the second alarm was raised.
02:39Because of the high water level, the vehicle could not be moved.
02:43Many residents living near the river went to the evacuation center.
02:47If we go here, when the third alarm goes off, our house will be reached.
02:53At around 1 p.m., the water reached 16.5 meters below the Marikina River.
02:59But there were still 20 roads flooded.
03:02We are talking to MMDA and DPWH to improve the water carrying capacity of our drainage system.
03:11The new normal is different now.
03:13The rainfall is very heavy.
03:16It's not like before.
03:19The San Mateo Marikina River reached 19.6 meters earlier at 9.20 a.m.
03:25That's why the water reached 15 barangays in San Mateo, Rizal.
03:29One of the residents is afraid of leptospirosis.
03:33I'm really afraid of leptospirosis.
03:36That's why I'm going down to buy food from outside.
03:43DOH is advising to avoid going into the river.
03:47If you can't avoid it, wash your body with water and soap.
03:51If you have an injury or not, consult with your doctor or health center within one to two days.
03:57For GMA Integrated News, I'm Joseph Morong, your witness.
