00:00We should always be present, whether there's social media or not,
00:03whether you're an influencer or not, your heart is there for a reason.
00:12I was born into a family that really loves animals.
00:16My dad was actually my number one.
00:19We had a farm in Cavite before where we had a lot of animals.
00:24We had Shetland ponies, we had Aspens, we had German Shepherds.
00:30So that's really what I'm used to.
00:32And my dad loves to catch them.
00:34Actually, he's the one who caught Panda.
00:36Just kidding.
00:39A lot of people are talking about, like, there are going viral kill shelters in the Philippines.
00:46I understand because I had to educate myself also with what's going on,
00:51what's happening behind the scenes.
00:53Believe me, I've seen horror.
00:56There were many times that I would...
00:59Actually, in the past, I didn't want to talk about it.
01:02I'll talk about it.
01:03There were many times that I was in a situation where I had to carry 50 dogs
01:09and they were going to be killed in the past.
01:10And I've done that.
01:12I've done that, like, not so long ago.
01:15But the thing is, as long as the government doesn't fix the system,
01:20as long as they don't give the right budget to the facilities to do what they need to do,
01:26then it's going to be the same.
01:28I know what I'm thinking.
01:29I mean, I'm not a politician and I don't think I need to be one.
01:36But I'm not saying I'm dumb, but I don't think I need to be for that.
01:41But I'm not dumb.
01:44And I'm smart enough to understand when I listen to conversations,
01:50when I know the budget, when I know what should be given,
01:53when I know that there is a budget that can be used.
01:57I mean, it's not like I'm going to carry a dog or anything,
02:00but I've seen shelters and I've been involved with certain shelters.
02:06Like in Sorsogon, we have a shelter there that's fairly new.
02:10We shelter dogs, we don't kill.
02:14But there are other shelters that kill thousands of dogs.
02:16And the worst part is when they kill animals,
02:20they don't inject them, they do it the most horrible way.
02:23Tambucho, name it, and it's the most painful way to go.
02:28And I've, you know, I spoke to a lot of organizations,
02:32how we can help, how it's all, at the end of the day,
02:35it's all about educating people.
02:37It's about a lot, not a lot of money,
02:40but the right budget for the centers so they can do their job properly.
02:45Because there are doctors that work for the kill centers
02:48that do not want to do it anymore.
02:51Of course, it's painful, right?
02:53They're animal lovers, but they don't have the money to do the right thing.
02:57So maybe that's number one.
02:59I understand also, I'm sorry if it's too early,
03:01I understand also that we have other priorities in the country,
03:06but just because they're animals,
03:08doesn't mean that we shouldn't also do what's right for them as well.
03:12It doesn't take a lot of money to do that.
03:16I've been working with a lot of groups,
03:20but thankfully, I now am part of the Steadspouses Foundation.
03:26And I didn't understand in the beginning
03:28how much of a huge vehicle it can be to create more awareness and to ask help.
03:34So when we had relief operations,
03:36we were able to really distribute a lot of dog food, cat food very, very fast.
03:42So I think it's just really being present,
03:44being available, not just when you need help,
03:49but all the time, like on calls.
03:52So for me, whether the camera is on or not,
03:55whether I'm part of the Steadspouses Foundation,
03:58I've always been present.
04:00And I think that's what we should be.
04:02We should always be present, whether there's social media or not,
04:06whether you're an influencer or not,
04:08your heart is there for a reason.
