00:00All you've got to do in a final is win. You've done that and you're into a preliminary final.
00:07Alex, pretty good feeling at the moment?
00:09Yeah, it's a pretty exciting feeling. It's a fair contrast to last Saturday losing to Skipton.
00:14So, it's always a tough game to come back and win and beat a team that won last week.
00:20So, yeah, tough conditions but just happy to get away with the win.
00:25What was the message before the game? Because suddenly that double chance is gone in that sense.
00:30You've just got to go out there and win the game. It doesn't matter how you win it.
00:34As you say, in windy conditions, it wasn't pretty to watch. I don't know what it was like out there. Tell us about it.
00:40No, it was exactly the way it looked. We had a plan with the wind and against the wind.
00:46But, yeah, as you've said, there's no second chances.
00:49Wadey was pretty direct with that.
00:52And, yeah, it was just scrappling. We had to scrapple and we got our chance with the wind.
00:56It was, yeah, execute and make the most of our chances.
00:59And yet the third quarter was probably the telling moment in the game, wasn't it?
01:04You restricted Dunstown. They missed some opportunities early but then you were able to hold them.
01:09And that means you went into that last quarter with an advantage which was kicking with the wind.
01:13It was going to make it really hard for the towners.
01:16Yeah, for sure. So halftime had a little buffer but nothing you can sit on.
01:21And, yeah, the message was just biggest scorer of the year this one. Scrap, do what we have to do to hold up.
01:26We can get it forward, hold it in, but more importantly just try and keep them goalless.
01:32So they had a few chances, as you said. Probably a bit lucky they missed a couple.
01:36But the boys held strong and, yeah, went into three-quarter time with a little lead.
01:42You get a good look at the midfield from where you play in the back half.
01:46And your midfield today, they played a great game, didn't they?
01:51They were unbelievable today. Awesome on the inside.
01:55And the second we got out of there, they just ran, got it out, nice and wide.
01:59And, yeah, ball use was unreal.
02:01And, yeah, Fords had a much better day compared to last week with the service they were getting.
02:05Yeah, the likes of Comden, he's been a big recruit for you guys this year.
02:10Ben Dodd got some fitness this year behind him at last after a few years where it's been pretty tough for him.
02:16Wakefield and, of course, Clay Bilney, who's also joined the team this year.
02:22Just on Clay, obviously played a couple of interesting roles.
02:26He's kicked two quick goals in the first half to really give you guys the front rung.
02:32And then he went into a defensive role later on playing on Brad Whittaker.
02:38So he's played some different types of game within the match.
02:44Yeah, for sure. So, yeah, Clay's been an unreal addition to us.
02:48As you said, kicked a couple in the second quarter, and he's a beast on the inside.
02:52But, yeah, Whittaker was hitting up pretty well and getting used.
02:56And they'd spent a fair bit of time together at east, probably playing on each other at training.
03:00So gave him a role, sent him back, and, yeah, he did it unbelievably well again.
03:05So very handy addition for us.
03:07OK, last thing, you can now look forward.
03:10It's a rematch of last year's preliminary final when you went down in a close one against Gordon.
03:17So right now the focus is obviously turning to the Eagles,
03:20and you'll be pretty determined to take the opportunity this year.
03:23And that goes without saying.
03:25Yeah, it's not often you get second chances.
03:28And it just so works out that we get to play Gordon in another prelim.
03:32So 0-0, full respect to them. They're going for three in a row.
03:36Unreal team of this generation.
03:38So we'll just bring our best and have a crack at it and see how we go.
