00:00Liverpool One has unveiled two new schemes to improve accessibility for all visitors.
00:05With almost 40% of all households in the Liverpool City region having at least one disabled member,
00:10the new tools are aiming to support visitors.
00:12Sociability helps disabled people find accessible places.
00:15On this initial pilot, the majority of stores, restaurants and entertainment venues
00:20at the Retail and Leisure destination have been visited to assess their accessibility features
00:24and create an online directory of the venues.
00:27The online accessibility directory provides useful and reliable information,
00:31including information on toilets and access to stores,
00:34allowing visitors to filter results based on their specific needs,
00:37such as seating availability and accessible toilet provisions.
00:41Launching alongside Sociability will be Waymap,
00:44which is the first navigation app of its kind to work indoors, outdoors and even deep underground without GPS,
00:51with step-by-step guidance that ensures that users,
00:54including those with visual impairments, are able to confidently navigate venues.
