A 47-year-old Canberra man has been freed on bail, after police allege, they found nearly half a million dollars in cash, cocaine and cannabis and a note on how to traffic drugs, in his garage. Simon Arthur learned of the police raid on his home, while he was away overseas.

00:11He handed himself in yesterday after returning early from a trip to the United Kingdom.
00:17Mr Arthur's lawyers told the court he learned of the raid on his home from family members.
00:24Police say they found the money with other items indicating drug trafficking, including
00:28the handwritten note which began with Dad's Advice and was signed Daddio.
00:35Prosecutors raised concern Mr Arthur might flee or interfere with evidence if released,
00:41but his lawyers told the court that was highly unlikely given he had returned from overseas
00:47and handed himself in.
00:49The court agreed, granting bail, although Mr Arthur will have to hand in his passport.
00:55Police say the raid was part of Operation Vitreous, which ran nationally and targeted
01:00the sale and distribution of drugs.
01:03Two others were arrested in Canberra over a grow house in a separate enterprise.
01:08Mr Arthur will be back in court later this month.
