Warby Parker founders said being nice guys has earned them a lot of goodwill.
Transcript
00:00The fact that the two of us and our co-founders are pretty nice guys
00:03actually has gone a really long way and that might sound trite,
00:06but we were successful because over years we earned a lot of goodwill
00:10and people were eager to help us, to offer us advice, to make introductions for us,
00:15and that really enabled us to launch Warby Parker and sort of accelerate
00:21what would have been, I think, a much more challenging process
00:25without all of that external help.
00:27Spending more time with Neil than I spend with my wife in any relationship
00:32requires investment and feedback and real partnership,
00:35and I feel fortunate that we have that in each other.
00:39It makes the highs higher, the lows less low,
00:42but to be honest, we spend a lot of time sort of investing in that working relationship.
00:47We know what each other are going to think.
00:49You know, we also assume positive intent.
00:51If one of us has an idea or one of us makes a mistake,
00:54we don't beat each other up about it.
00:55We talk about it and it's really helped us sort of build Warby Parker
01:00and we think that it's an amazing gift that we've had
01:03to be able to go through this journey together.
