00:00So my name is Robert Thomas and I'm the Kent County Council Cabinet Member for
00:04the Environment and we're here today at Sevenoaks Waste Transfer Station for
00:08the official opening. This is a site that's been in planning for a few years
00:12but this is a brand new facility because the facility which is just adjacent down
00:16the road has come to the end of its useful life and actually with the
00:20population growth predicted for Sevenoaks, government changes coming down
00:24the line in particular for Sevenoaks having to collect food waste a new
00:28facility is required. So this particular facility is 1.1 hectares which is
00:33significantly bigger than the site next door and we're grateful to the owner of
00:37the site who's leasing this to KCC which will help us provide the facility that
00:42we need to collect, bundle up and process the waste that comes into this site.
00:48So this particular site isn't for the public to come and access, the public need to
00:51continue to use their bins at the kerbside collections and the HWRC as they
00:55always have been doing but this particular facility will help us to as
00:59I say bundle up the waste, process it and provide enough space into the future so
01:05this will give us enough facility going well into the future.
