The big cat is thought to have wandered down from nearby hills into Ganzi Prefecture, China, earlier this week (Sept 1).
Video shows a crowd of locals following the animal - which appears to be disoriented by its unfamiliar surroundings.
Authorities from the animal protection and forestry departments quickly arrived on the scene and released the leopard back into the wild.
