00:00Adam Kaplan is our NFL insider on SportsGrid.
00:07You see him across the board on literally every show and more importantly on C2C.
00:12A double shot today.
00:13You can follow him on Exit Kaplan NFL.
00:16Almost 30 years covering the National Football League.
00:19Five years with Uncle Futrelli here on C2C.
00:24We'll start with this.
00:25I have always said to you and others, guys with bad hamstrings and calves, remain that
00:32way until they're better.
00:34Guys that come back early from hamstrings and calves and think they're better, but actually
00:39aren't better, have what's happening to Russell Wilson right now.
00:43Yeah, let me explain the Russell Wilson situation.
00:46So Wilson had a calf strain to begin training camp, right?
00:51He missed the early portion.
00:54I saw him when he came back to practice when I was there for two days in La Trobe.
00:57Looked fine, okay?
00:58He's had no issues.
01:00Until now.
01:01It's the same calf, by the way, that they're listing on the injury report for.
01:06He's getting reevaluated.
01:07We'll see what happens tomorrow.
01:08It's not good.
01:09Tomorrow's the last day of practice for the week.
01:12And they travel Saturday.
01:13Of course, Justin Fields took over for him when he couldn't practice and couldn't finish.
01:18So that's not good.
01:20Because your Steelers, by the way, they're banged up on the offensive line, right?
01:24We'll get to that in a second.
01:25Rowan Wilson, which I told you a couple weeks ago, it's actually a high ankle sprain, not
01:28a normal ankle sprain.
01:30Their third round pick, receiver out of Michigan.
01:32They're not very deep at wide receiver.
01:34This worries me, Scott, with their injuries on the offensive line.
01:37Wilson, and you're talking about an older quarterback in his mid-30s, you worry about
01:42these kind of injuries as quarterbacks get older.
01:45These tend to linger, by the way.
01:46You got to be careful with calf.
01:47You know, as a basketball player, these things can reoccur, which has just happened now on
01:52the same calf that he had.
01:53I'm going back, Scott, the first week of August, okay?
01:57You're talking about a month ago.
01:58That does worry me, and time's running out here.
02:01They got to get this thing right.
02:03And they made that trade for Justin Fields, as you know.
02:06There's a reason why they have him on the football field.
02:09By the way, I was going to say, Amal is not going to play, who was their best lineman
02:12last year.
02:13One of their starting guards was the pectoral strain.
02:16But Tano took all the starters' reps today, who's going to be their starting right tackle.
02:20That's good.
02:21Tano, however, will not be set back with an MCL sprain.
02:24So right now, he's turning towards being able to play it.
02:26But again, their deftly offensive line's not good.
02:29But defensively, and we'll talk more about this tomorrow, they're pretty healthy.
02:33And when you look at the Falcons, Kyle Pitts, by the way, returned to practice today.
02:36He gave everybody a scare, particularly people who play fantasy.
02:39But he's fine.
02:40He took all his reps today with that hamstring issue.
02:41All right, so let me ask you about Warren.
02:45He thinks his hamstring's better, and, you know, I'm worried about that.
02:50Like, all it takes is you retweak that thing, and then you're out, he'll miss four or five
02:55games.
02:56Yeah, and Jalen Warren, by the way, this is a big year for him.
03:00Former undrafted free agent's been a great story, and they've got that great tandem running
03:03back for the Arthur Smith ball, by the way, in Atlanta.
03:06So we look forward to seeing that game on Sunday.
03:08But Atlanta's healthy, your Steelers are not, but it's generally, again, on the offensive
03:13side of football.
03:14Defensively, they're healthy.
03:16Let's talk about the Eagles.
03:18All of a sudden, they've got a problem in their back end, heading to Sao Paulo.
03:24Yeah, they are actually in Brazil.
03:26They had a workout today.
03:28This is a little bit of a surprise, but let me explain.
03:30So Isaiah Rogers, Scott, you might remember, he was one of the players who was banned for
03:34a year due to gambling, right?
03:36So he signed a one-year deal with the Eagles.
03:39No guaranteed money, kind of what we call the old make good contract.
03:41If you want to get paid, you got to be on the roster.
03:43It's been a great story of development.
03:44He's actually been one of their top three outside corners.
03:48He hurt his hand a couple of weeks ago.
03:49He didn't do anything last week, and the Eagles actually ruled him out today.
03:53That's a little bit of a surprise.
03:54So he's not going to play.
03:55Now, what they're going to do, Keely Ringo, who was a fourth-rounder last year out of
03:58University of Georgia, who had a very good training camp, he'll replace him as that third
04:03outside corner.
04:04In fact, when they go to nickel, Quinion Mitchell, their first-round pick out of Toledo, has
04:07been going inside, and Rogers has been in the outside corner.
04:10So Ringo's going to replace him there.
04:13Though the Eagles feel much better about their secondary this year than they did last year,
04:17not having Rogers, who, by the way, their fastest outside corner, that does worry me
04:22a little bit.
04:23And we'll break the scheme down and the matchup down tomorrow for the Packers-Eagles.
04:29But this does worry me, because the Packers are super loaded at that wide receiver position.
04:35Before we get into your NFL win totals, I wanted to show you Carver High's sheet of
04:42integrity and get your assessment of these NFL win totals, the sheet of integrity.
04:51All right.
04:53I'm staying away from the Patriots one.
04:55To take under, this is insane.
04:57I get it that Carver's getting them a plus-one of six under.
05:03That to me, Scott, is a little bit of a stretch.
05:05I couldn't do that.
05:06The one I love, because you know I've been on the Packers this entire offseason, Packers
05:10fans gave me hate when I retweeted that video this morning.
05:13It was not good.
05:14See, I'm sorry.
05:15Lions fans did, because the Lions were my team for the previous two years.
05:18But I love the Packers over 9.5.
05:20By the way, that's minus-138.
05:21Remember when I told you, when these numbers came out back in May and June, I said, get
05:26on them now, because it's going to be harder.
05:30But it's still reasonable to minus-138 at 9.5.
05:33I love this one, because this is funny.
05:36I love the Jets over 9.5.
05:39Mike loves them under plus-132.
05:41See, he's a Bills fan, okay?
05:44He's a Jets hater.
05:45As he said off the air, we know the Jets are going to jet.
05:48But guess what?
05:49Aaron Rodgers is back.
05:50Scott, I've told you for weeks, if he plays 15 games, they're winning the AFC East, which
05:55we know they haven't done in a long, long time.
05:58But I'm telling you right now that Mike's going to be wrong about that one.
06:01We all agree on the Steelers over 8.5, that's plus-136.
06:06And I think, I like what Mike said here with the Chargers under 8.5 and plus-104.
06:12They're one of the top three most over-hyped teams, because Jim Harbaugh, I get it, he's
06:16won everywhere.
06:17But they got issues on the roster.
06:18I don't agree with it.
06:20I do agree with Mike on the over, on the Bucs at over 7.5 of minus-132.
06:27And Scott, you and I have talked about this.
06:28The Bears are the number-one hyped team.
06:30Maddie Rufles all of a sudden is going to win Coach of the Year, right?
06:34I like the under at plus-130, because again, they're super over-hyped.
06:39The betting markets have pushed this number over.
06:42A lot of people are going over, not under like Mike and I do.
06:45I like that under.
06:46But overall here, the one that I just don't agree with, I disagree strongly, vehemently.
06:54The Jets, and I don't like to say the lock word, but I'm telling you, if Rodgers plays
07:0015 games or more, this team's healthy, they are a sure win to win the AFC.
07:06I love Kaplan.
07:07He's got him playing 15 games.
07:09Meanwhile, he played four snaps last season, and he was finished.
07:14All right, let's look at your win totals, Cap.
07:16Yep, yep, yep.
07:18So the ones that I like, Scott, do you want to start with the AFC?
07:22You want to start there?
07:23Let's just go overall, right?
07:24Let's just go overall.
07:26And this is a big number, okay?
07:28The Niners at 10 and a half at minus 190.
07:32Scott, they're going to win 12 to 13 games.
07:35Now, this is interesting.
07:37The total at 11 and a half, the overs plus 125, folks, that's where the value is.
07:43The Niners are the best NFC team.
07:45They got the IUP contract straightened out.
07:47They got the Trent Williams thing straightened out.
07:49Now, McCaffrey has got that calf issue, which they've now listed more of Achilles.
07:54Right.
07:54They're not worried about him playing, but you just mentioned it.
07:57Now, he's 28 years old.
07:59You worry about this.
07:59He had a calf injury or an issue late last season.
08:02So you got to watch this.
08:04But the over clearly at 11 and a half, that is a value of plus 125.
08:10That's one I like.
08:11Now, yes, I'm picking the Packers.
08:12I want to make this clear here.
08:13Yes, I'm picking the Packers to shock the world and win the NFC North.
08:18But 10 and a half at minus 135 for the Lions, they're going to win, okay?
08:23They're going to win 11 or 12 games.
08:25And the Packers, depending on which book you're looking at, which I've told you,
08:30since May, Scott, I've told you, at nine and a half, again, minus 145, that's like stealing.
08:37Again, if they're healthy, they're going to get that easy.
08:40What about your Eagles?
08:41You have them winning 11 or more games.
08:45Yeah, I have them on there.
08:46The reason why I didn't put an X next to that one.
08:48Speaking of homers.
08:49No, but here's the thing, Scott.
08:51This is a tough matchup.
08:53Their schedule, I would call that moderate.
08:55I gave that a 2.5 schedule.
08:57That's sort of moderate for me, my five-point grading system.
09:01But the thing is, the roster is not great.
09:05The thing is, the coaching is going to be better.
09:07But again, Scott, I don't like them over eight and a half as much as other people,
09:1110 and a half as much as other people do.
