00:33Barrow County Sheriff Judd Smith says it was the suspect's second day at Appalachee High.

00:39The FBI and Jackson County Sheriff's Office say Gray and his father were interviewed last

00:43year after receiving several anonymous tips in May 2023 about potential threats posted

00:50to an online gaming platform, according to a senior law enforcement official, containing

00:54photographs of guns.

00:56His father stated he had hunting guns in the house, but said his son did not have unsupervised

01:01access to them.

01:02With no probable cause to arrest Gray, authorities say they told local schools to monitor him.

01:24The sheriff says an alert system called Centegix worked.

01:28At about 10.20 a.m. yesterday, authorities say teachers began activating a button on

01:33their badge that placed the school on lockdown.

01:37Within minutes, officials say law enforcement arrived on scene.

01:41Sheriff Smith credits three school resource officers with getting the suspect to surrender

01:46within six minutes of the first alert from teachers.

01:49They gave him verbal commands and he dropped the gun, went on the ground, and they took

01:53him into custody immediately.

01:54Among the victims, 14-year-old classmates Christian Angulo and Mason Schermerhorn and

02:00two math teachers, 39-year-old Richard Aspinwall and 53-year-old Christina Irimi.

02:06Adriana Phillip is a senior at Appalachee High.

02:10She says she was in class when she heard the gunshots.

02:13We ran to the back of the classroom and we all huddled behind the lab tables and from

02:18where I was, I could see the door.
