00:00We're here this evening to honour the lives of the 12 people who died tragically in the
00:04Channel this week. That's our primary focus this evening, is to remember those people,
00:09those humans, those individuals who were very much loved and will be missed, and to remember
00:15them and to humanise them. We're also here to protest the need for safe routes. If the
00:22new government are truly interested in stopping small boat crossings, which we are too, we don't
00:28want people to risk their lives in small boats. If they truly want that, if that's their intent,
00:33then they know the solution, because we've been campaigning for it for a long time,
00:37and it's safe routes. We are able to produce these routes when it comes to refugees from Ukraine,
00:45for example, which is wonderful, and we're just asking for that to be rolled out to more people
00:49who are desperately in need of it. We implore her to please speak with us. We're always keen
00:56to speak with her and to speak to the communities who we work with. We're there on the ground.
01:01We have people who are here who have been on these boats. They know what is needed. They know what
01:06will stop the gangs that they talk about. Please meet with us and speak with us and
01:12talk about safe routes and how we can actually make that a reality.
