00:00The Federation of School Bus Associations Malaysia says it will emphasise the guidelines
00:09on acceptable and unacceptable behaviour to its members at its upcoming General Assembly.
00:15Its president, Amali Munif Rahmat, said this following the arrest of a bus driver for allegedly
00:21posting videos of the students he transports on TikTok.
00:26He told FMT that a reminder was issued to members nationwide not to repeat the actions
00:32of the 24-year-old suspect, who was arrested by the police in Simpang Renggam, Johor, yesterday
00:38following a report lodged against him.
00:41He added that the Federation has also established a set of guidelines that will be presented
00:46at the General Meeting on September 19.
00:49Meanwhile, the National Parent Teacher Association Collaborative Council urged the Education
00:55Ministry to establish guidelines to ensure that school bus drivers adhere to both legal
01:01and ethical conduct.
01:03Its president, Ali Hassan, suggested that schools record each bus driver and require
01:08them to sign a pledge to always comply with the law.
01:12He also called for regular evaluations of drivers' records to be reviewed by both the
01:18ministry and schools.
