00:00I've been to Headingley Stadium for many an event but never for the cricket and
00:05it was time for me to try it out. I was going to the 100, yes the novices
00:11version of the real test cricket. It's shorter, it's faster and it's a lot more
00:20appealing to people like me who know nowt about cricket. It was also very
00:26popular with other families, other novices and I was lucky enough to take
00:31my own daughters who are huge cricket fans and hopefully the next generation
00:37of professional players. The atmosphere was buzzing, it felt a bit more like ice
00:44hockey, do you know with all the firm fingers, the autographs, the memorabilia
00:50or perhaps this is just cricket but it wasn't as I thought cricket would be all
00:55straight-laced, everyone dressed smartly and prim and proper. No, this was down-to-earth
01:02cricket and we were watching Northern Superchargers versus the Manchester
01:08Originals. We did also make the most of all the street food vendors there but I
01:13was really impressed by how inclusive and accessible it was. I'd definitely
01:19take the family again.
01:25you
