00:00Very exciting races earlier on there already in their heats just a little
00:07earlier on there was a quick turnaround for lots of these rowers here to get to
00:13the start line of this so we have a couple of Spanish crews three in fact
00:17there in the lineup we have Great Britain 01, Italy 03, Lithuania 01,
00:23Netherlands, three Italian crews here on our screen we have France 01, Austria
00:2902, Netherlands 03, Great Britain 02 so 18 boats competing now this is gonna make
00:37for exciting racing here we have about 30 seconds to the start a couple of
00:44crews there being very close to the floating start you do not want to get to
00:48the wrong side of that you will incur a two minute time penalty so really
00:51important that they time it right here now a couple of bows looking like they
00:55might be heading over that line and so that would involve being in the penalty
01:01box for two minutes if they did cross it but we're off here now the next final
01:06the women's double skulls so a bit of a clean start I would say from everyone
01:12that there doesn't seem to be too many clashes like we saw a little earlier on
01:17in certain races things get pretty tight here at the start line but already a
01:23nice start here by everyone we are seeing Austria 02 here on the screen
01:30next to us they're off to a nice clean start looks quite calm as I look out my
01:35window here and from the drone shots it does look quite calm but when we are
01:39alongside them here now in this boat you can see that it is a little bit jumpy
01:44here for these boats but there's a few crews that we're going to be keeping an
01:49eye on the winners of the heats earlier on we had Netherlands 02 Austria 01 and
01:56indeed it does look like it is Netherlands now leading this out so we
02:02have to mention Caroline Florin there literally got out of her quad boat there
02:08where she won gold in the women's quad literally finished about 10 minutes ago
02:13had to hop straight into the double at least she was nice and warm and at least
02:17she knows the course very well here now they're taking a nice lead Caroline of
02:23course gold medalist from the Olympics in the women's single race and she has
02:30taken this coastal rowing like a duck to water here already after winning one
02:35gold medal and here she is going for her second there they're leading it out from
02:39Austria 01 who were the other winners of the second heat earlier on that is the
02:44Lobnig sisters representing Austrian rowing team that is Katharina and Magdalena
02:48Lobnig so they finished second last year in this category they're back for more
02:54this year they are currently in second position and then Netherlands 03 we
03:01have here as well which is Lynn van Annolt and Claire de Kock Netherlands 01
03:08then the reigning champions now starting to open up a little bit of a lead
03:13across the field we're only 500 meters into this 4,000 meter race so Yannick
03:19van der Meulen and Carine Roberts so earlier on they finished third in their
03:24heat but they are the reigning champions in this boat class so I had a feeling
03:30that they were holding back a little bit in the heat earlier they allowed a
03:33couple of crews to pass them out but it's great to see three crews from
03:38Netherlands here lining up alongside each other so currently Netherlands 01
03:43they're in the lead followed in by the Lobnig sisters of Austria 01
03:48Netherlands 03 then so that is the crew Lynn van Annolt and Claire de Kock
03:54currently in third position we have two Spanish crews then it is Spain 01 and
04:00Spain 04 seeing here Katharina and Magdalena Lobnig now lots of experience
04:07here from them in coastal rowing over the last few years Magdalena is fresh
04:11off the back of her Olympic racing where she was in the women's single finishing
04:17in 10th position she has a medal from the Olympics back in 2020 here they are
04:25looking really smooth here now finishing second last year so they have quite a
04:29bit of experience here in the Italian waters and then coming into our view
04:34here it is the reigning world champions Netherlands 01 in their lovely bright
04:40yellow boat here now Yannick van der Bul and Karrion Roberts there in the stroke
04:45seat so much experience in this boat you can see Yannick looking over her
04:49shoulder there now making sure they're in a nice straight line to that first
04:53marker point so these 4k races have eight turning points we've seen from the
04:59last few races
05:05last few races that there's not too much trouble at that first turning point
05:11because it is not too sharp so it's 1,200 meters out to that first turning
05:17point so they're about 200 meters off it here now and it is Austria 1 now who
05:23have moved into the lead so Lobnig sisters have moved in ahead of
05:27Netherlands 1 Netherlands 3 also in those top three positions now at the
05:32moment Spain 04 also there Spain 01 there's a great battle happening
05:38between the two crews from Spain Natalia Miguel Gomez in Spain 04 stroking them
05:44she finished third last year she got a bronze medal last year currently sitting
05:48in fourth position but we're seeing shots here now again of Netherlands 1
05:54looking very smooth as they come up towards that first marker boy so it's
05:58just a slight angle and they'll be heading out oh just getting slightly at
06:02a time there towards that first marker boy didn't throw them off too much but
06:08Katerina and Magdalena are very much within touching distance they have just
06:13two meters between themselves and Netherlands 1 Netherlands 3 still very
06:19much there we have Netherlands 2 so cool to see the three crews from
06:23Netherlands up in those leading pack we also have Italy 1 it they've finished
06:31third in their heat Aurora Spirito and Martina Fanfani they are just back a
06:36little bit there down the field slightly France 01 then having a great race
06:41here as well but let's have a look here at that first marker great race here so
06:46Netherlands 1 being pushed out a bit wide by Austria 1 here who've taken a
06:51lovely tight turn but we did see that Netherlands 1 didn't have to stop
06:56rowing even though they went a bit wider on their line they were able to keep
07:00rowing there whereas Katerina Magdalena Lobnig had to put on the brakes
07:04slightly so slow down the speed of the boat ever so slightly but up alongside
07:10each other here now these two crews this is going to be a great race all the way
07:15to the finish line no doubt then we have the crew from Netherlands 3 in that
07:21leading pack and then it is quite tight there between we have fourth and then
07:26the following is six boats coming in and around that turning boy so everyone
07:31around clean so far around that first marker as they head out now they're
07:37heading east along the shoreline as they go towards the second marker boy so the
07:44second marker is the one that is probably the trickiest really because it
07:50is very very sharp but we're looking here now Netherlands 0-2 and Spain 0-4
07:57so these two are in fifth and sixth position currently but having a great
08:02race so at the moment it is the Lobnig sisters who've moved themselves now into
08:06the lead ahead of Netherlands 1 then back to Netherlands 3 in third position
08:14Spain 0-1 in that fourth position we always kind of focus on those leading
08:20packs but there's often great races happening down the field so I can see
08:23seventh and eighth there France 0-1 USA 0-1 very little separating them at the
08:28moment then Italy 0-1 and Italy 0-3 are having a great battle between
08:32themselves as our kind of 13 to 18 to their positions as well so even though
08:38they're back the field a little bit they are in an a final it's incredible to be
08:42at an in an a final at a World Rowing Coastal Championships and so just keep
08:47an eye on the boats further back at the field but back to the leaders now at the
08:51moment they are starting to open up a bit of a gap here now so Magdalena and
08:56Katerina Lobnig now making sure they're staying on a course they can see that
09:02turning boy in their sights but as you can see their bow is moving over to the
09:05left-hand side of that turn as we can see it you do not want to go that side
09:10the wrong side of that marker boy whatsoever so at the moment Netherlands
09:15one and three seem to have a bit of a better line because they know how sharp
09:19this turn is it looks like Austria now the Lobnig sisters just correcting
09:24themselves slightly making sure they get their bow it to the correct side
13:46double skulls so up the lead of this race Katerina and Magdalena Lobnig there
13:54have been leading this out for pretty much the majority of this race then in
13:59a second position there is a great race happening between second and third it is
14:04currently the reigning champions Netherlands won in a second position
14:09followed in by Netherlands three then Lynne Van Anolt and Claire de Cocq in a
14:16third in fact they've just moved themselves into second position Spain or
14:20one then in fourth so we're coming up to the final 1,000 meters of this race but
14:28the Lobnig sisters there have over 45 meters of a lead now over the battle
14:32that is happening between Netherlands three and Netherlands one Spain or one
14:37then in fourth Netherlands or two in that pack as well we have a Spain or one
14:42but this is great racing here oh just getting caught up there so Netherlands
14:48or three they're just getting caught up with their oars slightly you can see
14:52things are getting a little bit messy and that has allowed Netherlands three
14:55now to move ahead of Netherlands one but around that chicane they're still
15:01Austria leading it out there lovely turns expertly navigated here now so the
15:06Lobnig sisters finishing second last year in this category they're hoping to
15:11do one better as long as they keep doing what they're doing now that is exactly
15:15what is going to happen what a race here though between the two crews from
15:20Netherlands at the moment it is Netherlands three who have pushed
15:24themselves ahead of the reigning world champions Netherlands one so
15:29Netherlands three there both crews representing Hollandia Roy club Claire
15:34Claire de Kock and Lynn van Anolt they're in second position so we're in
15:40it to the final 750 meters here now Janik van der Molen looking over her
15:46shoulder here now joined by Karin Robbers they're back now in third
15:51position here now not a place they want to be and this battle here between the
15:57two crews from Netherlands oh look at Austria here now at the turn just
16:00falling out of sync there now just missing a couple of strokes there and it
16:05looks like it Netherlands or three now we're gonna take a lovely tight line in
16:09and have pushed themselves up towards Austria Netherlands one having to go a
16:14little bit wide here now but they're still sitting in third position at the
16:18moment I would say Austria have enough of a lead at this point but still 750
16:23meters to go and we did see in the last race the women's quad how it came down
16:27to the finish line for those bronze medals but I think the race that we're
16:32gonna have to keep watching is Netherlands three and Netherlands one
16:36no one is the left hand boat as you're looking at the screen out there the
16:40reigning world champions Netherlands three are on the right hand side of our
16:44screen here now just missing a few strokes here and there it is still a
16:48little bit messy even though it is quite looks quite calm on camera but you can
16:53see in Netherlands one they're trying to go an inside line so they've moved on
16:57the inside now of Netherlands three Spain for now still holding on to the
17:03fourth position ahead of Netherlands two so three crews from Netherlands in those
17:08top five positions Magdalena and Katarina Lopnik now better turn that
17:14time now they're off down towards the last 500 meters of their race still
17:19Netherlands three holding off the challenge from Netherlands one let's see
17:23if Yannick and Karin can do anything special here and get themselves back
17:27into silver medal position and this battle that's happening between the two
17:33of these crews now is making the top three boats really push away from the
17:39rest of the field Katarina Magdalena there we're seeing on our screen they
17:44have 400 meters to go rating around 32 they just need to stay in control stay
17:49quite calm but look at this Netherlands three have pushed up right up alongside
17:54Netherlands one sorry Netherlands one have pushed up alongside Netherlands
17:59three but it is Netherlands three who have taken a faster turn now they did
18:05not slow down their speed at all around that turn final stages of this race can
18:11Yannick and Karin do something special here there is eight meters separating
18:17these two crews what a shot if they're not careful they're gonna come into a
18:22bit of trouble here the two crews Netherlands three now starting to put on
18:26a push but their line they're coming very close to each other this could be
18:31very tricky if either of them get caught up I know they have a lot of space from
18:35Spain and that is exactly what is happening we're seeing blades clash here
18:39now as Netherlands one take off here now putting everything into these final
18:45strokes here it is going stroke for stroke between Netherlands one
18:49Netherlands three it is Yannick and Karin who have pushed themselves back in
18:54to second position here can they hold off Claire and Lynn who are in third now
19:01what a finish here from Netherlands one final stages of this race the final of
19:08the women's double skulls it is all about Austria here though the Lobnick
19:13sisters finished second last year moving up one position better they're
19:17coming in to take first position here in the women's double skulls
19:22congratulations to Magdalena and Katarina but look at this finish it is
19:28Netherlands one from Netherlands three what a battle between these rowers here
19:34what a finish and it is the reigning champions from last year Yannick and
19:38Karin coming in slowing down Claire and Lynn doing all they can to get there but
19:45it does go the way of Netherlands one what a finish there to this race
19:49followed in by Netherlands three we don't see that too often in coastal
19:54rowing where feet come out and put the feet in the water we see it all the time
19:57in flat water but what a finish there by the two crews from Netherlands but we're
20:03seeing Katarina and Magdalena they are very very happy ladies here winning the
20:09women's double we saw them in the solo boats as well but coming up to the
20:15finish now next few crews it is Spain or one just coming in ahead of Netherlands
20:20two so that is three crews from Netherlands in the top five next up it
20:27is going to be Spain Oh for believe are holding off the challenge and we can see
20:33that really good race that happened at the top of the field there the top three
20:39boats they had over 30 seconds of a lead then across fourth position fifth went
20:44to Netherlands or two six to France or one it was Spain in seventh it's Leo three
20:48lots of them crossing the finish line here together Lithuania one what a great
20:55race this is what happens when you get to the finals racing gets so so close
21:01that was a brilliant race between the two crews from Netherlands here we have
21:09Netherlands or two they finished in fifth position so this is a Caroline
21:15Florin who is just off the back of winning gold in the women's quad she'll
21:22be happy I'm sure she was a little tired going into that race nice finish of fifth
21:28position there in the final
21:33and we're seeing things getting a bit taller here so the clouds have moved in
21:38France so one there another grace race we saw it we Jelfred there in so many
21:46races throughout the weekend so much experience in her boat and the racing
21:57continues here as the last few crews come up towards the finish line
22:07oh we'll have to catch our breath after that one another great finish here in
22:12the women's double last few strokes here for these crews and we can see in the
22:17background that big ship heading out from the port I'm sure we'll be seeing
22:23the wash off that a little later on in the next final we have the crew from
22:27Italy one there Aurora Spirito and Martina Fanfani
22:38all crews making their way back into the beach
22:43here we have another crew from Italy Violante Lama and Paola Piazzolla
22:55Italy O2
23:04and next up will be coming to the next few races shortly we can already see in
23:12the background the next crews are warming up so at half-past five we're
23:18gonna have the men's solo followed in by the coxed men's quad at 6 p.m. local
23:25time and in the mixed doubles but here are the results of the women's double
23:33skulls first place Katarina Magdalena Lobnig of Austria second position great
23:38race between Netherlands or one and Netherlands or three it went the way of
23:41Netherlands or one Yannick van der Molen Karine Robbers Claire de Cocton and Lynn
23:47van Aanholt in third position with Spain or one and fourth Netherlands O2 in
23:56fifth France or one and six Spain O4 in seventh and then back the field then we
24:05had Italy O1 we saw them on our screen a little while ago and Italy O4 and
24:09Italy O2 so three Italian crews with Austria O2 two crews from Great Britain
24:15so congratulations to all the finalists there in the women's double skulls
