Another 1-1 draw for Dallas Trinity FC, this time with DC Power FC.
The first half saw one goal, scored by DC’s Jorian Baucom in the 29th minute. Defender Hannah Davison played a ball into an empty space in the center of the field, of which Baucom picked off and capitalized on to go down history as the first-ever goal scorer for DCPFC.
Then, Dallas native Samantha Meza leveled it in the 64th minute, ripping it past Morgan Aquino.
“I know that for me personally, I’m not typically the goal scorer; I’m more of the disher,” Meza said. “I just got the ball from Julia and locked in. The first thing on my mind was to take a touch, drive and then just shoot. I think we dominated honestly, and had a lot of opportunities.”
Julia Dorsey, who played with Meza at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, got the assist.
“I was just so happy for her,” Dorsey said. “I loved playing with her in college and I love playing with her now. I’m so happy to be reunited with her and assist her goal tonight.”
DTFC is still looking for its first win of the season, and will fight again for
