00:09How much of an achievement is it for you to be the King of the Mountain of a Grand Tour?
00:13Yeah, I mean, two years ago I was on Cloud 9, you know, two stage wins and, you know,
00:22in the Mountain's jersey, comfortable lead and ready to come to Madrid with the jersey
00:30and then disaster struck in stage 18 and now to finish that up in the book is fantastic,
00:44especially after the year that I've had, I feel like my season has just started, so looking
00:48forward to the rest of it.
00:50Yes, tell us about this crash in April, your season was possibly over and you are here,
00:58one of the winners in Madrid.
00:59Yeah, I mean, it's pretty incredible, the recovery that I've had is amazing because
01:09we were, at the time, we didn't know if I was going to be able to ride, let alone compete
01:14again, so to be able to be here in the jersey, it certainly was, it was something that was
01:20like a dream, you know, like, oh, yes, it's a possibility that we can do this at this
01:27race but, you know, to actually be able to pull it off is amazing.
01:31How did you convince the team to work for you for that?
01:36I mean, it was sort of just come with the team goals, help the leaders, get up the road,
01:44be aggressive and, you know, whilst I was doing that, you know, there's mountain points
01:48on offer, grab a couple of those and then, you know, coming into the second week, doing
01:53the same thing, there's even more mountain points and I get a big enough lead and I'm
01:58able to go for the classification, it wasn't really much of a devious plan or anything
02:05like that, it was just all part of why I was here.
02:09Is this a new start in your career?
02:12How do you see the future?
02:14Well, World Championships is coming up, I've got three events to do there for Australia
02:20and then, yeah, Italian races and then home, well, then back to Australia for Down Under.
02:29I actually want to do it again this year.
