A little boy who was born without his left hand is hoping to raise £20k so he can be fitted with a "superhero" bionic arm.

Brodie Foster, seven, was born with a wrist and half a palm on his left arm and hasn't let it hold him back.

But now the growing boy wants more independence and to be able to climb monkey bars, tie his shoelaces and do tricks on his scooter.

His parents, Naomi and Jason Foster, both 30, spotted a story about another boy being fitted with an Open Bionics arm and said Brodie was "so excited" when he saw it.

The family are now fundraising to raise the £20k needed for the arm - which comes in several different Marvel designs.

00:26And board games.

00:29Yeah.
00:30Yeah.
00:31And the PlayStation.
00:32And on the PlayStation.
00:33He's a very happy, hilarious little boy.
00:36He's really, really kind.
00:38He would do anything for anyone.
00:40He's just such a little sweetheart.
00:42He's amazing.
00:43He's just, you can always put a smile on your face.
00:46I was 20 weeks pregnant when I found out about Brody's hand.
00:50They picked it up on a scan.
00:53To be fair, they first told me that he wouldn't actually be born with anything from the wrist down.
00:58So when he was born, and he had a wrist and a very small palm and a little thumb,
01:05and he sort of literally, he was born, he would put it on my chest,
01:08and he sort of picked this little lucky fin up and sort of waved it in front of me
01:12as if to say, hello, mum.
01:14Like, this is nothing scary.
01:16It's obviously, you know, no idea what it was going to bring.
01:20Finding that out when I was pregnant with my first child as well,
01:23it was quite traumatic.
01:25But actually, when he was born and waved that in front of me,
01:28you just sort of know then that he's going to be all right, you know?
01:32I mean, growing up, you wouldn't even know, really, to most people,
01:36that there's anything, you know, different about him.
01:38He gets on with absolutely everything.
01:41Every single thing in the world.
01:42Nothing seems to have been a struggle so far.
01:46I'd say sort of the last year or two at school,
01:49now he's getting to the age where he knows he's different and he has got differences.
01:54He has had a few bits and bobs that he's struggled with.
02:00But he doesn't like to ask for help, and he doesn't like to make a point of it.
02:05So we just try and get through things as normal as you can.
02:10But he does do amazing.
02:12But there are certain things that you can see when his friends are doing the monkey buzz,
02:15and you can see it in his eyes.
02:16He doesn't say a lot, but you can see it does.
02:19It's bothering him, those sort of little things.
02:21But yeah, I mean, confidence-wise, so far, he's been amazing.
02:24But we want to keep that up.
02:27And you can just sort of, yeah, you can see sometimes he's starting to struggle a bit.
02:32Right, so I want a hair arm because then I can use a knife and fork.
02:37Use a knife and fork. That's pretty good, wouldn't it?
02:41What else could you do with it?
02:42Monkey buzz.
02:43Yeah.
02:44Eat.
02:45You manage to eat pretty well anyway.
02:49I use bat and ball.
02:50Bat and ball.
02:51You want to use the bat and ball first?
02:53Bat.
02:54Play a bit around us.
02:55Yeah.
02:57Is it Black Panther now?
02:58Yeah.
02:59I thought you went for the Iron Man one.
03:01You've changed your mind again.
03:02I don't really know.
03:04They're so cool to choose from, aren't they?
03:06Yeah, I don't really know.
03:07Maybe Black Panther.
03:08Black Panther.
03:10It's either Black Panther or Spider-Man or Iron Man.
03:13I think that's your three choices, isn't it?
03:15Yeah.
03:20Yeah.
03:27Still got my jacket.
