00:25These are the patches we are using in the PCC, for indoor patients.
00:43The Ames Hospital Administration and the Respiratory Medicine Department took this initiative together.
00:48As you know, the consumption of tobacco is the cause of many serious diseases,
00:53whether it is cancer or advanced lung diseases.
00:58It is a very big reason and it is very important that we counsel these people from the beginning
01:05and help them to somehow quit tobacco.
01:08Because it is an addiction, it is not easy to quit it.
01:11For that, help is needed, medicines, counseling and education are needed.
01:15That is why it has been opened here.
01:17What we are already showing here in this hospital,
01:20whether it is in any department, if the doctor feels that he is consuming tobacco,
01:26he can be referred here so that he can get more personalized attention and time here.
01:34He will be told specifically about the problem and whatever medicines or treatments related to it will be given.
01:41This will run every Tuesday morning between 9 am to 11 pm.
01:45This is a collaborative effort between the Department of Psychiatry and Respiratory Medicine,
01:50in which both their doctors, counselors and nursing staff will be available.
01:55In the future, it may be possible that more departments join this, which can help us with this.
02:00The provisional effort is that, although there is not much role of medicines in this,
02:05but whatever is there, we are talking to the hospital administration and trying to provide it as soon as possible.
