00:00Hi, welcome back to my channel.
00:02In this video, I will explain the ending of Detective Conan, The Culprit Hanzoah.
00:05So, let's begin.
00:07Netflix's Detective Conan spin-off anime series, The Culprit Hanzoah follows the titular
00:12shadowy suspect navigating the dangerous streets of Baica Town.
00:15With his own sinister plans in mind, just to let you know this video will contain spoilers.
00:20The Culprit Hanzoah begins with a sinister-looking, silhouetted young man named Hanzoah moving
00:24to the perilous town of Baica.
00:27His first concern is to find an affordable non-stigmatized apartment to live in.
00:31After failing to find one and finally tracking down one shared living apartment, he befriends
00:35Hanbayashi, who looks like him.
00:37However, while Hanzoah only fantasizes about killing a certain someone, Hanbayashi does
00:42the deed and gets arrested for it.
00:44For the proper required documentation to start living in Baica Town, Hanzoah heads off to
00:49the town hall and then to the police station, where he must get his license updated and
00:53renewed.
00:54The next adventure presents itself when Hanzoah's hair won't go down since he can't find shampoo
00:59in the bathroom.
01:00So he takes a walk around town to a supermarket to buy it and finds that there are none.
01:05Next up is a nightmare that forces Hanzoah to foolishly buy a knife from the weapons
01:08shop at night and gets scammed pretty badly.
01:11He also has a run-in with scamming mafia who are eventually dealt with by Ranmori.
01:16With the little amount of money left, Hanzoah has nothing to pay the next month's rent with,
01:20he must find a job, which is a pretty arduous endeavor in Baica.
01:24He eventually gets a job from a suspicious old man in a coat, Hiroshi Agasa.
01:29The job entails, much to Hanzoah's shock and horror, getting hit by a tranquilizer dart,
01:34with the capability of knocking out an elephant.
01:36He wakes up three weeks later in his room, but thankfully Agasa makes good on his word
01:40and sends him with the envelope carrying the payment for the job.
01:44Later, Hanzoah finds a job at a video rental shop.
01:47The job seems good but the moment he enters the shop on his starting day, he finds the
01:51manager has been killed.
01:54Several detectives are present who all solve the case in a jiffy, in front of Hanzoah.
01:58He recognizes that they're all shop employees too, eventually agreeing to their requests
02:02to keep their identities hidden while the front as employees and moonlight as detectives.
02:07The job is good but Hanzoah always finds himself covering for his fellow employees, who all
02:12have to go run for emergency detective work.
02:15Meanwhile, he also has to care for Hakuba's pet hawk, Watson.
02:19He goes to the pet shop to adopt a new pet who he can rely on and who is also obedient.
02:24However, his heart goes for the fluffiest and most adorable Pomeranian puppy, the price
02:28for whom is paid by Hakuba.
02:31Later on, when Hanzoah overhears his roommates riffing on his goofy, countryside clothes,
02:35he sets out to buy only the trendiest stuff.
02:38He ends up buying an all-black outfit, something that's considered very ominous according to
02:42an urban legend native to Baika town.
02:45The urban legend becomes real for Hanzoah when he feels eyes on his back and eventually
02:49he has to ditch the trends for his safety and goes back to his old fits.
02:53Hanzoah's mom visits him and he gets embarrassed by her, lashing out at her and refusing to
02:57accompany her for a tour of the tower she wants to visit.
03:00When news of a hostage situation at the same tower reaches him, he runs off to save her,
03:05only to find her enjoying cotton candy at a bench when she failed to reach the tower
03:09before the tragedy strikes.
03:11A lot of time has passed since Hanzoah came to Baika and he still hasn't been able to
03:15find the man he wants to kill.
03:17After a lot of public services and efforts at improving his luck, he finally spots him.
03:22When he goes to kill him, he fails to do so, also realizing that it's actually the master
03:26thief called Akid, who looks a lot like the man he really wanted to find and kill.
03:31Who does Hanzoah want to kill?
03:33Case closed, the culprit Hanzoah never mentions outright who Hanzoah really wants to kill
03:38since he doesn't know the name of the man.
03:40However, as the story proceeds, it becomes clear that this certain someone Hanzoah wants
03:45to murder is none other than Detective Conan, or his former, adult form-slash-original self
03:49to be precise.
03:51The kid detective keeps tailing Hanzoah throughout the series, only for the aspirational silhouetted
03:56suspect to never catch on to it.
03:58He also comes share space with Conan at the bathhouse, but never recognizes that it's
04:02the same person he aims to kill.
04:04Why does Hanzoah want to kill Conan?
04:07The reason why Hanzoah wishes to kill Conan is never revealed in Case Closed, the culprit
04:11Hanzoah.
04:13The titular suspect never divulges it himself, only that he wishes to murder him.
04:17In the manga Detective Conan, the culprit Hanzoah, it's heavily implied that Hanzoah
04:21holds a grudge against Shinichi Kudo, the real identity of Detective Odagawa Conan.
04:27In the manga, he has a dream where someone awfully similar to Shinichi accuses him of
04:30a crime he strongly denies committing.
04:33In the anime series, he has a similar nightmare but the face of the accuser isn't shown.
04:38Why does Hanzoah not recognize Conan?
04:41Hanzoah most likely met Odagawa Conan when he still had an appearance of an adult.
04:46Hanzoah met Shinichi Kudo but since, as happens in the original manga that the culprit Hanzoah
04:50is a spinoff of, Shinichi is turned into an elementary-aged boy who assumed an alias and
04:54identity of Odagawa Conan, Hanzoah can't recognize him.
04:58He passes by Conan multiple times throughout the series, but can't recognize that it's
05:02him who he wants to kill.
05:04Conan suspects Hanzoah and follows him, sometimes alone and sometimes along with Hattori, but
05:09either Hanzoah successfully evades him or the chase doesn't lead to anything since Hanzoah
05:13never acts on his wishes to murder someone, who is Mr. Kid.
05:17Like many other Detective Conan characters that appear in the culprit Hanzoah, the gentleman
05:21master thief Kaito Kid, also makes an appearance.
05:25Due to his uncanny resemblance to Shinichi Kudo, Kid also ends up confusing Hanzoah,
05:29who mistakes him for the one he wants to kill.
05:32However, when he goes to kill him, Hanzoah hilariously fails to do so, as Kid puts up
05:37another show for the public and successfully evades the authorities.
05:41Hanzoah eventually realizes that Kid wasn't the man he wants to kill, despite him looking
05:45more than just similar to his target individual.
05:48That's all for now folks.
