00:00Kamala Harris and Donald Trump clashed in their first and perhaps only debate before
00:07the presidential election.
00:09During the 90-minute battle between nominees from the Democratic and Republican parties,
00:14the two candidates showcased their starkly different visions for the U.S. on topics like
00:19democracy, national security and American foreign policy.
00:24Look at what's going on in the Middle East.
00:26This would have never happened.
00:28I will get that settled and fast, and I'll get the war with Ukraine and Russia ended.
00:34If I'm president-elect, I'll get it done before even becoming president.
00:40Harris' performance seemed to be the opposite of President Joe Biden's in June, with sharp,
00:45focused answers, while Biden at times appeared incoherent.
00:51Israel has a right to defend itself.
00:53We would.
00:55And how it does so matters, because it is also true, far too many innocent Palestinians
01:02have been killed, children, mothers.
01:05What we know is that this war must end.
01:10It must end immediately.
01:12And the way it will end is we need a ceasefire deal, and we need the hostages out.
01:19The debate took place less than two months from election day, and hours before the first
01:23early ballots will begin to be mailed in parts of the country.
