00:00Following the decision of the Supreme Court that Sulu will no longer be included in BARMM,

00:05the Commission on Elections still enacted the first parliamentary election in 2025

00:11and some of their activities will not be affected.

00:14This is what Louisa Erispe reported.

00:19After the decision of the Supreme Court that the province of Sulu will not be included in the Moro Autonomous Region for Muslim Mindanao or BARMM,

00:27the Commission on Elections immediately acted on the changes for the upcoming first parliamentary election in 2025.

00:36Komalek said that the election is still ongoing,

00:39but they postponed the expiration of the Certificate of Candidacy for the parliamentary election in BARMM from November 4 to 9.

00:47We were shocked by the decision of our Supreme Court regarding the removal of Sulu from the Moro Autonomous Region.

00:56That is why Komalek and the bank decided to remove the filing of Certificates of Candidacy for the entire Moro Autonomous Region,

01:03including the manifestation of intent to participate and the nominees of the political parties.

01:10The COC's influence on national and local elections is not affected here.

01:16That is why the COC's influence in Sulu and other parts of the country is still there from October 1 to 8.

01:22The 10,000 members requested by the Election Code and the Moro Organic Law of each regional political party

01:31who run the parliamentary elections of BARMM are particularly affected here

01:34because the number of people who were removed from BARMM in Sulu was reduced.

01:38But Komalek will give them enough time to fill the blanks in their removal from Sulu.

01:45Komalek will issue a notice for this.

01:48If you will ask if the law will be needed or if the law will be amended, Komalek's contention is that it will not be needed

01:56because as far as Komalek is concerned, as long as all the provinces in the present Bangsamoro minus Sulu

02:05are properly represented by the delegates, then in our belief, that is enough.

02:12Meanwhile, Komalek explained why they will not follow the decision of Congressman Bienvenido Abante Jr.

02:19that the COC will file in December.

02:22Komalek just said that they will have time to fill the blanks in their removal from Sulu.

02:28It is really hard because we were forced to file.

02:36We will admit that we are already in a position where we will grant or allow the postponement.

02:44However, I hope you will understand that Komalek will do almost 2,000 ballot phases in the entire Philippines.

02:53Komalek clarified that they are studying in Region 9 or Zamboanga Peninsula, the province of Sulu.
