Transcript
00:00Kingsyard Micropub Shiffnall. Sam, you're at the helm of this ship.
00:05Absolutely, yeah, it's going well, going well, enjoying it.
00:07You're a local lad, aren't you, you're a Shiffnall lad?
00:09Yeah, yeah, born and bred. Well, I moved to Bridgnorth a year ago, but I've been here 27 years.
00:14Yeah, yeah.
00:15Yeah, lovely town.
00:16So talk us through it then, the Kingsyard. If you were trying to sell it to someone, what's special about it?
00:22A few interesting little knick-knacks and stuff in there, isn't there?
00:24Yeah, so obviously you've got your real ale that everyone enjoys.
00:26We do a lot of craft ales, from IPAs to sour beers to imperial stouts.
00:31It's just a small little pub, get to know everybody, it's a nice little atmosphere.
00:36I've just picked up, yeah, nice friendly vibe in there, isn't there?
00:38Absolutely.
00:39So yeah, some interesting original little knick-knacks, some old glass work and pub lamps.
00:44Yeah, yeah, absolutely, some really old stuff, some stuff from World War II times and stuff,
00:47which the owner has bought out of his own money and they really add to the place.
00:51Yeah, yeah.
00:52And when's your busy night? Is it Friday night, Saturday night still, is that how it goes?
00:55Friday nights, Saturday nights mainly, but throughout the week we've got some really busy times.
00:59Lots of locals, regulars, you know what time of day it is when they arrive, I can tell you that for sure.
01:03Yeah, yeah.
01:04And then, tipple of the moment then, what seems to be going down well?
01:08So we've just had the Chiffon Ale Trail, which did really well for us,
01:11which we used Oswestry's Stonehouse Brewery, it was their flip side, it was a 4.6 IPA.
01:16Yeah.
01:17Really nice, really, really good flavours, so that's our tipple at the moment.
01:20We've got lots more to come in.
01:21Great stuff, well thank you, Sam.
01:23No worries, thank you.
