00:00:00In the name of Allah, the most merciful, the most compassionate.
00:00:16Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the entire universe.
00:00:26The most merciful, the most compassionate.
00:00:38The master of the day of recompense.
00:00:46You alone do we worship, and you alone do we turn to for help.
00:00:56Direct us on to the straight way.
00:01:03The way of those whom you have favored, who did not incur your wrath, who are not astray.
00:01:11The way of those whom you have favored, who did not incur your wrath, who are not astray.
00:01:28In the name of Allah, the most merciful, the most compassionate.
00:01:38Alif Lam Mim
00:01:47This is the Book of Allah. There is no doubt in it. It is a guidance for the pious.
00:01:59For those who believe in the existence of that which is beyond the reach of perception, who establish prayer, and spend out of what We have provided them.
00:02:19For those who believe in what has been revealed to you, and what was revealed before you, and have firm faith in the Hereafter.
00:02:42Such are on true guidance from their Lord. Such are the truly successful.
00:03:09As for those who have rejected these truths, it is all the same whether or not you want them, for they will not believe.
00:03:17Allah has sealed their hearts and their hearing, and a covering has fallen over their eyes.
00:03:38They deserve severe chastisement.
00:03:41There are some who say, We believe in Allah and in the Last Day, while in fact they do not believe.
00:03:59They are trying to deceive Allah and those who believe, but they do not realize that in truth they are only deceiving themselves.
00:04:19There is a disease in their hearts, and Allah has intensified this disease.
00:04:36A painful chastisement awaits them for their lying.
00:04:40Whenever they are told, Do not spread mischief on earth, they say, Why? We indeed are the ones who said things right.
00:05:05They are the mischief makers, but they do not realize it.
00:05:10Whenever they are told, Believe as others believe, they answer, Shall we believe as the fools have believed?
00:05:39Indeed it is they who are the fools, but they are not aware of it.
00:05:44When they meet the believers, they say, We believe, but when they meet their evil companions in privacy, they say, Surely we are with you.
00:06:08They were merely jesting.
00:06:10Allah jests with them, leaving them to wander blindly on in their rebellion.
00:06:23These are the ones who have purchased error in exchange for guidance.
00:06:34These are the ones who have purchased error in exchange for guidance.
00:06:38This bargain has brought them no profit, and certainly they are not on the right way.
00:06:44They are like him who kindled a fire, and when it lit up all around him, Allah took away the light of their perception and left them in utter darkness, where they can see nothing.
00:07:13They are deaf, they are dumb, they are blind, they will never return to the right way.
00:07:26Or they are like those who encounter a violent rainstorm from the sky, accompanied by pitch-dark clouds, thunderclaps and flashes of lightning.
00:07:56On hearing thunderclaps, they thrust their fingers into their ears in fear of death.
00:08:02Allah encompasses these deniers of the truth.
00:08:26It is as if the lightning would snatch their sight.
00:08:35Whenever it gleams a while for them, they walk a little, and when darkness covers them, they halt.
00:08:42If Allah so willed, He could indeed take away their hearing and their sight.
00:08:47Surely Allah is all-powerful.
00:08:50O mankind, serve your Lord, who has created you as well as those before you. Do so that you are saved.
00:09:09It is He who has made the earth a resting place for you, and the sky a canopy for you.
00:09:34It is He who has made the earth a resting place for you, and the sky a canopy for you.
00:09:39And sent down water from above, wherewith He brought forth fruits for your sustenance.
00:09:45Do not then set up rivals to Allah when you know the truth.
00:10:04If you are in any doubt whether it is we who have revealed this book to our servant, then produce just a surah like it,
00:10:23and call all your supporters and seek in it the support of all others save Allah.
00:10:29Accomplish this if you are truthful.
00:10:32But if you fail to do this, and you will most certainly fail, then have fear of the Fire,
00:10:50whose fuel is men and stones, and which has been prepared for those who deny the truth.
00:10:56And give good tidings to those who believe and do righteous deeds, that they will have gardens beneath which rivers flow.
00:11:07Whenever they are provided with any fruit as sustenance, they say,
00:11:12O Prophet! Announce glad tidings to those who believe in this book and do righteous deeds in accordance with its teachings,
00:11:35that for them are gardens beneath which rivers flow.
00:11:39And their fruits will have such resemblance to those of the earth,
00:11:42that whenever they'll be provided with those fruits, they will say,
00:11:46It was this which was granted to us on earth before.
00:11:50For them there shall be pure spouses, and there they shall abide forever.
00:11:55Indeed, Allah is not ashamed to present an example of that which is exalted, and that which is above it.
00:12:06But as for those who believe, they know that it is the truth from their Lord.
00:12:14And as for those who disbelieve, they say,
00:12:19What does Allah intend by this example?
00:12:25He misguides with it much, and guides with it much.
00:12:30And none misguides with it except the transgressors.
00:12:48They know that it is the truth from their Lord.
00:12:51While those bent on denying the truth say,
00:12:54What does Allah mean by these parables?
00:12:57Thus He causes many to go astray, just as He directs many to the right way.
00:13:02And He thereby causes to go astray only the transgressors.
00:13:19Who break the covenant of Allah after its firm binding,
00:13:23and cut asunder what Allah has commanded to be joined,
00:13:27and spread mischief on earth.
00:13:29They are the utter losers.
00:13:49How can you be ungrateful to Allah who bestowed life upon you when you were lifeless?
00:13:55Then He will cause you to die, and will again bring you back to life,
00:13:59so that you will be returned to Him.
00:14:19It is He who created for you all that is on earth,
00:14:23and then turned above, and fashioned it into seven heavens.
00:14:28He knows all things.
00:14:48Just think when your Lord said to the angels,
00:14:58Lo, I am about to place a vicegerent on earth.
00:15:02They said, Will you place on it one who will spread mischief and shed blood,
00:15:07while we celebrate your glory and extol your holiness?
00:15:11He said, Surely I know what you do not know.
00:15:18Then Allah taught Adam the names of all things,
00:15:41and presented them to the angels and said,
00:15:44If you are right that the appointment of a vicegerent will cause mischief,
00:15:49then tell me the names of these things.
00:16:02They said, Glory to you.
00:16:04We have no knowledge except what you taught us.
00:16:07You, only you, are all-knowing, all-wise.
00:16:14Then Adam told them their names.
00:16:20When he told them their names, he said,
00:16:26Did I not tell you that I know the unseen of the heavens and the earth,
00:16:34and I know what you reveal and what you conceal?
00:16:40Then Allah said to Adam, Tell them the names of these things.
00:16:44And when he had told them the names of all things, Allah said,
00:16:49Did I not say to you that I know everything about the heavens and the earth,
00:16:53which are beyond your range of knowledge,
00:16:56and I know all that you disclose and also all that you hide?
00:17:11And when we ordered the angels, Prostrate yourselves before Adam,
00:17:18all of them fell prostrate except Iblis.
00:17:21He refused and gloried in his arrogance and became one of the defiers.
00:17:41And we said, O Adam, live in the garden, you and your wife,
00:17:47and eat abundantly of whatever you wish, but do not approach this tree,
00:17:52or else you will be counted among the wrongdoers.
00:18:10But Satan caused both of them to deflect from obeying our command
00:18:20by tempting them to the tree and brought them out of the state they were in.
00:18:25And we said, Get down, all of you, henceforth, each of you is an enemy of the other,
00:18:31and on earth you shall have your abode and your livelihood for an appointed time.
00:18:40And he said to him in words, and he repented to him.
00:18:44Verily, he is the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful.
00:18:48Thereupon Adam learned from his Lord some words and repented.
00:18:53And his Lord accepted his repentance, for he is much relenting, most compassionate.
00:19:00Say, Get down, all of you, henceforth, each of you is an enemy of the other,
00:19:07and on earth you shall have your abode and your livelihood for an appointed time.
00:19:16We said, Get you down from here, all of you, and guidance shall come to you from Me.
00:19:22Then whoever will follow My guidance need have no fear, nor shall they grieve.
00:19:28But those who refuse to accept this guidance and reject Our signs as false
00:19:34are destined for the fire where they shall abide for ever.
00:19:39But those who refuse to accept this guidance and reject Our signs as false
00:19:45are destined for the fire where they shall abide for ever.
00:19:50O Children of Israel, remember My favour which I have bestowed upon you,
00:19:57and fulfil your covenant with Me, and I shall fulfil My covenant with you, and fear Me alone.
00:20:16And believe in the Book which I have revealed, and which confirms the Scripture you already have,
00:20:23and be not foremost among its deniers.
00:20:28And believe in the Book which I have revealed, and which confirms the Scripture you already have,
00:20:35and be not foremost among its deniers.
00:20:39And believe in the Book which I have revealed, and which confirms the Scripture you already have,
00:20:43and be not foremost among its deniers.
00:20:47Do not sell My signs for a trifling gain, and beware of My wrath.
00:21:00Do not confound truth by overlaying it with falsehood, no, knowingly conceal the truth.
00:21:10Establish prayer, and dispense zakah, the purifying alms, and bow in worship with those who bow.
00:21:33Do you enjoin righteousness on people, and forget your own selves,
00:21:37even though you recite the Scripture? Have you no sense?
00:21:51And resort to patience and prayer for help. Truly, prayer is burdensome for all except the devout.
00:22:08Who realize that ultimately they will have to meet their Lord, and that to Him they are destined to return.
00:22:29Children of Israel, recall My favor which I bestowed upon you, exalting you above all nations.
00:22:37You will meet a Day when no soul will avail another,
00:22:42and no intercession will be accepted from it,
00:22:45and no ransom will be taken from it, nor will they be helped.
00:22:51Fear the Day when no one shall avail another, when no intercession will be accepted,
00:22:57when no one will be ransomed, and no criminal will receive any help.
00:23:21And recall when We rescued you from the slavery of Pharaoh's people,
00:23:27who had afflicted you with dreadful suffering, slaying your males and sparing your females.
00:23:33That was a tremendous trial for you from your Lord.
00:23:37And recall when We split the sea, providing passage for you, and thus saved you,
00:23:42and caused Pharaoh's people to drown before your very eyes.
00:23:48And recall when We split the sea, providing passage for you, and thus saved you,
00:23:53and caused Pharaoh's people to drown before your very eyes.
00:24:09And recall when We summoned Moses for a term of forty nights,
00:24:14and then you set up the calf as your guard in his absence.
00:24:17You indeed committed a grave wrong.
00:24:29Yet We pardoned you, that you might be grateful.
00:24:32And recall that while you were committing this wrong,
00:24:35We gave Moses the scripture and the criterion, that you are guided to the right way.
00:24:40And recall that while you were committing this wrong,
00:24:43We gave Moses the scripture and the criterion, that you are guided to the right way.
00:25:11And recall when on returning with this favor, Moses said to his people,
00:25:15My people, you have wronged yourselves by taking the calf for an object of worship.
00:25:20So turn in repentance to your Creator and kill yourselves.
00:25:25This will be best for you in your Creator's sight.
00:25:28Thereupon he accepted your repentance.
00:25:31Indeed, he is much relenting.
00:25:35And recall when you said,
00:25:37O Moses, we will not believe in you until we clearly see Allah speaking to you.
00:25:43Thereupon, a tremendous thunder and lightning struck.
00:25:47And Moses said to his people,
00:25:49My people, you have wronged yourselves by taking the calf for an object of worship.
00:25:54So turn in repentance to your Creator and kill yourselves.
00:25:58This will be best for you in your Creator's sight.
00:26:01And recall when you said,
00:26:03O Moses, we will not believe in you until we clearly see Allah speaking to you.
00:26:08Thereupon, a tremendous thunderbolt struck you before your very eyes.
00:26:19Then we revived you after your extinction, that you might be grateful.
00:26:31And we caused a cloud to comfort you with shade.
00:26:42And we sent down upon you manna and the quails, saying,
00:26:46Eat of the good wherewithal that we have provided you as sustenance.
00:26:51And by their sinning, your forefathers did not wrong us.
00:26:55It is they themselves whom they wronged.
00:27:02So eat of the good wherewithal that we have provided you as sustenance.
00:27:05And enter the gate in prostration.
00:27:08And say, We forgive you your sins.
00:27:13And We will increase the doers of good.
00:27:17And recall when we said,
00:27:19Go into this town and eat abundantly of its food.
00:27:23But enter the gate prostrate, saying,
00:27:28We will forgive you your sins and shall bestow more favour on the doers of good.
00:27:48Then the wrongdoers substituted another saying for that which had been given them.
00:27:54And so we sent down a scourge upon the wrongdoers from the heavens for their transgression.
00:28:01And when Moses asked for water for his people,
00:28:04We said, Strike the rock with your staff.
00:28:07So twelve springs burst forth from it.
00:28:12Every people knew what they drank.
00:28:15Eat and drink from the provision of Allah,
00:28:18And do not transgress in the land, you corrupters.
00:28:30And there gushed out from it twelve springs,
00:28:33And each tribe knew its drinking-place.
00:28:36Then you were directed,
00:28:38Eat and drink of the sustenance provided by Allah,
00:28:42And do not go about acting wickedly on earth, spreading mischief.
00:29:00And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:29:03And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:29:06And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:29:09And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:29:12And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:29:15And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:29:18And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:29:21And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:29:24And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:29:27And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:29:30And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:29:33And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:29:36And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:29:39And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:29:42And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:29:45And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:29:48And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:29:51And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:29:54And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:29:57And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:30:00And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:30:03And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:30:06And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:30:09And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:30:12And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:30:15And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:30:18And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:30:21And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:30:24And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:30:27And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:30:30And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:30:33And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:30:36And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:30:39And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:30:42And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:30:45And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:30:48And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:30:51And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:30:54And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:30:57And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:31:00And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:31:03And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:31:06And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:31:09And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:31:12And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:31:15And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:31:18And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:31:21And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:31:24And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:31:27And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:31:30And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:31:33And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:31:36And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:31:39And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:31:42And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:31:45And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:31:48And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:31:51And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:31:54And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:31:57And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:32:00And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:32:03And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:32:06And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:32:09And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:32:12And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:32:15And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:32:18And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:32:21And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:32:24And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:32:27And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:32:30And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:32:33And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:32:36And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:32:39And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:32:42And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:32:45And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:32:48And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:32:51And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:32:54And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:32:57And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:33:00And do not spread mischief on earth, spreading mischief.
00:33:03Moses said to his people,
00:33:05Behold! Allah commands you to slaughter a cow.
00:33:08They said, Are you jesting with us?
00:33:11Moses answered, I seek refuge in Allah that I should behave in the manner of the ignorant.
00:33:18They said, Pray to your Lord that He make clear to us what she is like.
00:33:40Moses answered, He says, She is a cow, neither old nor immature,
00:33:46but of an age in between the two.
00:33:49Do then what you have been commanded.
00:34:09They said, Pray to your Lord that He make clear to us of what color she is.
00:34:14Moses answered, He says, She is a yellow cow with a bright color which is pleasing to those who see.
00:34:38They said, Pray to your Lord that He make clear to us what cow she is.
00:34:43Cows seem much alike to us, and if Allah wills, we shall be guided.
00:35:08Moses answered, No, He says, She is a cow unyoked to plough the earth, or to water the tillage,
00:35:16one that has been kept secure with no blemish on her.
00:35:20Thereupon they cried out, Now you have come forth with the information that will direct us aright.
00:35:26And they slaughtered her, although they scarcely seemed to do so.
00:35:32And when you killed a man, and then began to remonstrate, and cast the blame of killing upon one another,
00:35:49even though Allah was determined to bring to light what you were hiding.
00:35:54Then we ordered, Smite the corpse with a part of it. Thus does Allah bring the dead to life.
00:36:11And thus does He show His signs that you might understand.
00:36:16Then your hearts were hardened after that, for they were like stones, or even more hardened.
00:36:23And of the stones is that from which rivers burst forth.
00:36:29And of it is that from which water springs forth.
00:36:35And of it is that which descends out of fear of Allah.
00:36:40Then even after observing this, your hearts hardened and became like stones, or even harder.
00:36:52For surely there are some stones from which streams burst forth,
00:36:56and some that split asunder and water issues out,
00:37:00and some that crash down for fear of Allah.
00:37:03Allah is not heedless of the things you do.
00:37:06Do you hope that these people will believe in the message you are preaching,
00:37:29even though a party of them has been wound to listen to the word of Allah,
00:37:34and after they had fully grasped it, knowingly distorted it.
00:37:38And when they meet those who believe in Muhammad,
00:38:07they say, We do believe in him.
00:38:10But in their intimate meetings they say to one another,
00:38:13How foolish! Why should you intimate to them what Allah has revealed to you?
00:38:19For they will use it as argument against you before your Lord.
00:38:23Are they unaware that Allah knows all that they hide and all that they disclose?
00:38:36And among them are also the unlettered folk who do not know about the Scriptures,
00:38:52but cherish baseless wishes and merely follow their conjectures.
00:38:57Woe then to those who write out the Scriptures with their own hands,
00:39:24and then in order to make a trifling claim,
00:39:28This is from Allah.
00:39:30Woe to them for what their hands have written,
00:39:33and woe to them for what they thus earn.
00:39:55They say, The fire will certainly not touch us except for a limited number of days.
00:40:01Say to them, Have you received a promise from Allah?
00:40:04For Allah never breaks His promise.
00:40:07Or do you attribute to Allah something about which you have no knowledge?
00:40:11Those who earn evil and are encompassed by their sinfulness are the people of the fire,
00:40:37and there will they abide.
00:40:39And those who believe and do righteous deeds are the people of the garden,
00:40:56and there will they abide.
00:40:59And when We took the covenant of the Children of Israel,
00:41:04that you will worship none but Allah,
00:41:07and to parents do good,
00:41:10and to those near of kin,
00:41:11and to the orphans,
00:41:12and to the needy,
00:41:13and say to the people,
00:41:15And remember when We made a covenant with the Children of Israel,
00:41:35You shall serve none but Allah,
00:41:38and do good to parents,
00:41:39kinsmen,
00:41:40orphans,
00:41:41and the needy.
00:41:42You shall speak kindly to people,
00:41:44and establish prayer,
00:41:46and give zakah,
00:41:47purifying alms.
00:41:49And yet, except for a few of you,
00:41:51you turn back on this covenant,
00:41:53and you are still backsliders.
00:41:56And when We took your covenant,
00:41:58you shed not your blood,
00:42:01nor do you drive yourselves out of your homes.
00:42:08Then you were settled,
00:42:10and you bear witness.
00:42:14And recall when We made a covenant with you,
00:42:17that you shall not shed one another's blood,
00:42:20and shall not turn out one another from your homelands.
00:42:23You confirmed it,
00:42:25and you yourselves are witnesses to it.
00:42:28Then you, these, kill yourselves,
00:42:35and drive out a party of you from their homes,
00:42:42opposing them with sin and aggression.
00:42:47And if they come to you as captives,
00:42:50you drive them out,
00:42:52and it is forbidden to you to drive them out.
00:42:55Do you then believe in what is in the Book,
00:42:58and disbelieve in what is in the Qur'an?
00:43:00The punishment for those of you who do this
00:43:05is nothing but disgrace in the life of this world.
00:43:09And on the Day of Resurrection,
00:43:11they will be returned to the severest punishment.
00:43:15And Allah is not unaware of what you do.
00:43:20And here you are, killing one another,
00:43:23turning out a party of your own from their homelands,
00:43:26aiding one another against them in sin and enmity.
00:43:30And if they come to you as captives,
00:43:32you ransom them,
00:43:33although the very act of expelling them
00:43:36was unlawful to you.
00:43:38Do you believe in a part of the Scripture,
00:43:40and reject the rest?
00:43:42What else, then, could be the retribution
00:43:44of those among you who do this,
00:43:47than that they should live in degradation
00:43:50in the present life,
00:43:51and that, on the Day of Resurrection,
00:43:53they should be sent to the severest chastisement?
00:43:57Allah is not heedless of what you do.
00:44:13These are the ones who have brought the present life
00:44:16in exchange for the world to come.
00:44:18Their chastisement shall not be lightened,
00:44:21nor shall they be helped.
00:44:49Surely, we gave Moses the Scripture,
00:44:52and caused a train of messengers to follow him,
00:44:55and then sent Jesus, the son of Mary,
00:44:58with clear proofs,
00:45:00and supported him with the spirit of holiness.
00:45:03But is it not true,
00:45:05that every time a messenger brought to you something
00:45:08that was not to your liking,
00:45:10you acted arrogantly?
00:45:12You called some messengers liars,
00:45:14and killed others.
00:45:17They say, our hearts are well protected.
00:45:20No, the fact is that Allah has cursed them
00:45:23because of their denying the truth.
00:45:26So, scarcely do they believe.
00:45:46And now that there has come to them a book from Allah,
00:45:49how are they treating it?
00:45:51Even though it confirms the truth already in their possession.
00:45:56And even though they have prayed for victory,
00:45:59how are they treating it?
00:46:02And even though it confirms the truth already in their possession.
00:46:05And even though it confirms the truth already in their possession.
00:46:10even though it confirms the truth already in their possession.
00:46:14And even though they had prayed for victory against the unbelievers,
00:46:18and yet, when that book came to them,
00:46:20and they recognized it, they refused to acknowledge its truth.
00:46:24Allah's curse be upon the unbelievers.
00:46:40Evil indeed is what they console themselves with.
00:46:57They deny the guidance revealed by Allah,
00:47:00grudging that He chose to bestow His gracious bounty of revelation and prophethood
00:47:05on some of His servants whom He willed.
00:47:08Thus, they have brought on themselves wrath after wrath.
00:47:12And a humiliating chastisement is in store for such unbelievers.
00:47:37When they are told, believe in what Allah has revealed, they say,
00:47:49we believe only in what was revealed to us, Israel.
00:47:53They deny everything else, even though it be the truth which confirms what they possess.
00:47:59Say to them, if indeed you are believers,
00:48:02why is it that in the past you killed the prophets of Allah who were from Israel?
00:48:08And Moses came to you with clear proofs,
00:48:12and yet you were so wont to wrongdoing, that as soon as he was gone,
00:48:26you took to worshipping the calf.
00:48:29And when We took your covenant and raised the Mount over you,
00:48:35take what We have given you with strength and listen.
00:48:40They said, We heard and disobeyed, and the calf was poured into their hearts because of their disbelief.
00:48:46Say, evil is what your faith commands you, if you are believers.
00:48:55Recall the covenant We made with you and cause the Mount to tower above you,
00:49:00stressing, hold to what We have given you with full strength and give heed to it.
00:49:06But their forefathers said, We hear but we disobey,
00:49:10for their hearts were overflowing with love for the calf because of their unbelief.
00:49:15Say, if you are people of faith,
00:49:17then evil are the things that your faith enjoins upon you.
00:49:21Say, if the abode of the Hereafter is for you in the sight of Allah alone,
00:49:30then long for death, if you are truthful.
00:49:38Say to them, if indeed the last abode with Allah is yours,
00:49:42in exclusion of other people, then long for death, if you are truthful.
00:49:48And they will never long for it because of what their hands have sent forth,
00:49:53and Allah is well aware of the wrongdoers.
00:49:58But they shall never long for it because of the evil deeds they have committed.
00:50:03Allah is well aware of the wrongdoers.
00:50:06And you will surely find that they have kept people busy with life and of those who associate others with Allah.
00:50:13He would like for one of them to live a thousand years,
00:50:17and what is the harm in it that he should live a thousand years?
00:50:23And Allah is well aware of what they do.
00:50:27You will certainly find them most eager to cling on to life, indeed,
00:50:31even more eager than those who associate others with Allah in His divinity.
00:50:37Each one of them wishes to live a thousand years,
00:50:40although the bestowal of long life cannot remove him from chastisement.
00:50:45Allah sees whatever they do.
00:50:48Say, whoever is an enemy to Gabriel should know that he revealed this Qur'an to your heart by Allah's leave.
00:51:12It confirms the scriptures revealed before it,
00:51:15and is a guidance and good tidings to the people of faith.
00:51:32And if this is the cause of their hostility to Gabriel,
00:51:36let them know, whoever is an enemy to Allah, His angels and His messengers,
00:51:41and to Gabriel and Michael, will surely find Allah an enemy to such unbelievers.
00:51:58We surely sent down to you clear verses that elucidate the truth,
00:52:03verses which only the transgressors reject as false.
00:52:11Is it not that every time they made a covenant with Allah, a party of them set it aside?
00:52:23The truth is that most of them do not truly believe.
00:52:41And whenever a messenger from Allah came to them, confirming what they already possessed,
00:52:53a party of those who had been given the scripture flung the Book of Allah behind their backs,
00:52:59as if they knew nothing.
00:53:12And what was sent down to the two angels at the door of Laharut and Marut.
00:53:20And they did not teach anyone until they said,
00:53:24We are only a trial, so do not disbelieve.
00:53:28So they learn from them what they separate between the man and his wife.
00:53:35And they do not harm anyone except by Allah's leave,
00:53:41so that you may know what harms them and does not benefit them.
00:53:45And they certainly know who has bought what is for him in the Hereafter from the Creator.
00:53:51And how evil is that which they have sold themselves for, if they but knew.
00:53:58And then followed what the evil ones falsely attributed to the kingdom of Solomon,
00:54:04even though Solomon had never disbelieved.
00:54:07It is the evil ones who disbelieved, teaching people magic.
00:54:11And they followed what had been revealed to the two angels in Babylon, Harut and Marut.
00:54:18Although these two angels never taught it to anyone without first declaring,
00:54:23We are merely a means of testing people, so do not engage in unbelief.
00:54:29And yet they learn from them what might cause division between a man and his wife.
00:54:34They could not cause harm to anyone except by the leave of Allah.
00:54:38And still they learned what harmed rather than profited them,
00:54:43knowing well that he who bought it will have no share in the world to come.
00:54:48Evil indeed is what they sold themselves for, had they but known.
00:55:04Had they believed and been God-fearing, Allah's reward would have been better, had they but known.
00:55:23O you who believe, do not say to the Prophet, Raina,
00:55:27lend ear to us, but say, Unzurna, favor us with your attention, and pay heed to him.
00:55:35A painful chastisement awaits the unbelievers.
00:55:56The unbelievers, be they the people of the Book, or those who associate others with Allah in His divinity,
00:56:03do not wish that any good should be sent down upon you from your Lord.
00:56:08But Allah chooses for His mercy whomsoever He wills. Allah is Lord of abounding bounty.
00:56:31For whatever verse we might abrogate or consign to oblivion, we bring a better one or the like of it.
00:56:39Are you not aware that Allah is All-Powerful?
00:56:54Are you not aware that the dominion of the heavens and the earth belongs to Allah and that none apart from Allah is your protector or helper?
00:57:18Or would you ask your messenger in the manner Moses was asked before?
00:57:23And whoever exchanges faith for unbelief has surely strayed from the right way.
00:57:48Out of sheer envy, many people of the Book would be glad to turn you back into unbelievers after you have become believers, even though the truth has become clear to them. Nevertheless, forgive and be indulgent towards them until Allah brings forth His decision. Surely, Allah is All-Powerful.
00:58:31Establish prayer and dispense zakah. Whatever good deeds you send forth for your own good, you will find them with Allah. Surely, Allah sees all that you do.
00:58:57They say, none shall enter the garden unless he be a Jew or according to the Christians, a Christian. These are their vain desires. Say, bring your proof if you are speaking the truth.
00:59:24None has any special claim upon reward from Allah. Whoever submits himself completely to the obedience of Allah and does good will find his reward with his Lord. No fair shall come upon them, nor shall they grieve.
01:00:05The Jews say the Christians have no basis for their beliefs.
01:00:09And the Christians say the Jews have no basis for their beliefs.
01:00:13They say so even though they read the scripture.
01:00:16The claim of those who have no knowledge of the scripture is similar.
01:00:20Allah will judge between them concerning their differences on the day of resurrection.
01:00:35Those will not enter it except in fear.
01:00:44They will have disgrace in this world, and they will have a great punishment in the Hereafter.
01:01:05There is degradation for them in this world, and a mighty chastisement in the next.
01:01:22The East and the West belong to Allah.
01:01:25To whichever direction you turn, you will be turning to Allah.
01:01:29Allah is all-embracing, all-knowing.
01:01:43They say Allah has taken to Himself a son. Glory to Him.
01:01:49Nay, whatever is in the heavens and the earth belongs to Him.
01:01:53To Him are all in obeisance.
01:02:06He is the originator of the heavens and the earth.
01:02:10Whenever He decrees a matter, He merely says, Be, and it is.
01:02:37The ignorant say, Why does Allah not speak to us?
01:02:41Why does no sign come to us?
01:02:43The same was said by people before them.
01:02:46Their hearts are all alike.
01:02:48We've made the signs clear for people of firm faith.
01:02:52Indeed, We have sent you with the truth as a bearer of good tidings and a warner.
01:02:58And you will not be answerable about the people of the blazing flame.
01:03:02What greater sign can there be than that
01:03:05We sent you with the truth as a bearer of good tidings and a warner.
01:03:10And you will not be answerable about the people of the blazing flame.
01:03:38Never will the Jews be pleased with you, O Prophet, nor the Christians, until you follow their way.
01:03:44Say, Surely Allah's guidance is the true guidance.
01:03:48Should you follow their desires, disregarding the knowledge which has come to you, you shall have no protector or helper against Allah.
01:04:13Those to whom we have given the scripture and who recite it as it ought to be recited, they truly believe in it.
01:04:21And those who disbelieve in it, they are the real losers.
01:04:38Children of Israel, recall My favor which I bestowed upon you and I exalted you above the nations of the world.
01:05:00And beware of the day when no one shall avail another, when ransom shall be accepted from no one, when no one's intercession will profit anyone, when there shall be no help from any quarter.
01:05:31Recall when Abraham's Lord tested him in certain matters, and when he successfully stood the test, he said, Indeed, I am going to appoint you a leader of all people.
01:05:42When Abraham asked, And is this covenant also for my descendants? The Lord responded, My covenant does not embrace the wrongdoers.
01:06:13And We made this house Kaaba, a resort for mankind, and a place of security, commanding people, Take the station of Abraham as a permanent place for prayer, And enjoined Abraham and Ishmael, Purify My house for those who walk around it, And those who abide in devotion, And those who bow and who prostrate themselves in prayer.
01:06:37And when Abraham prayed, O my Lord, make this a place of security, And when Ishmael prayed, O my Lord, make this a place of security, And when Abraham prayed, O my Lord, make this a place of security, And when Ishmael prayed, O my Lord, make this a place of security, And when Abraham prayed, O my Lord, make this a place of security, And when Ishmael prayed, O my Lord, make this a place of security, And when Abraham prayed, O my Lord, make this a place of security, And when Ishmael prayed, O my Lord, make this a place of security, And when Abraham prayed, O my Lord, make this a place of security, And when Abraham prayed, O my Lord, make this a place of security, And when Abraham prayed, O my Lord, make this a place of security, And when Abraham prayed, O my Lord, make this a place of security, And when Abraham prayed, O my Lord, make this a place of security, And when Abraham prayed,
01:07:07And when Ishmael prayed, O my Lord, make this a place of security,
01:07:11And when Abraham prayed, O my Lord, make this a place of security,
01:07:16And when Ishmael prayed, O my Lord, make this a place of security,
01:07:19this short life, and then I shall drive him to the chastisement of the fire, that is an
01:07:24evil end."
01:07:28Recall when Abraham and Ishmael raised the foundations of the house, praying,
01:07:43Our Lord, accept this from us, You are All-Hearing, All-Knowing.
01:08:06Our Lord, make us submissive to You, and make out of our descendants a community that submits
01:08:12itself to You, and show us the ways of Your worship, and turn to us in mercy.
01:08:18You are much-relenting, most-compassionate.
01:08:38Our Lord, raise up in the midst of our offspring a messenger from among them, who shall recite
01:08:43to them Your verses, and instruct them in the Book, and in wisdom, and purify their
01:08:49lives.
01:08:50Verily, You are the Most-Mighty, the Most-Wise.
01:09:10And who but a fool would be averse to the way of Abraham?
01:09:13For it is we who chose Abraham for our mission in this world.
01:09:18And surely, in the world to come, he shall be reckoned among the righteous.
01:09:30Such was Abraham, that when his Lord said to him, Submit, he said, I have submitted
01:09:37to the Lord of the Universe.
01:09:53And Abraham enjoined the same upon his children, and so did Jacob.
01:09:58My children, behold, Allah has chosen this religion for you.
01:10:03Why were you witnesses when death came to Jacob?
01:10:33He asked his children, Whom will you serve after me?
01:10:38They said, We shall serve your God, the God of your forefathers, Abraham, Ishmael, and
01:10:44Isaac, the one God, and unto Him do we submit.
01:11:01Now they were a people who passed away.
01:11:04Theirs is what they have earned, and yours is what you have earned.
01:11:08You shall not be asked concerning what they did.
01:11:23They say, Be Jews or be Christians, then you will be rightly guided.
01:11:28Say to them, No, follow exclusively the way of Abraham, who was not one of those who associate
01:11:58Say, We believe in Allah, and in what has been revealed to us, and to Abraham, Ishmael,
01:12:14Isaac, Jacob, and the descendants of Jacob, and in what was given to Moses, and Jesus,
01:12:20and in what the other prophets received from their Lord.
01:12:24We make no distinction between any of them, and we are those who submit to Allah.
01:12:46And then, if they come to believe as you believe, they are on right guidance.
01:12:51And if they turn away, then quite obviously they have merely fallen into opposition to
01:12:56the truth.
01:12:57Allah will suffice you for protection against them.
01:13:01He is all-hearing, all-knowing.
01:13:02Say, Take on Allah's color, and whose color is better than Allah's?
01:13:18It is Him that we serve.
01:13:35Say, O Prophet, will you then dispute with us concerning Allah, when He is our Lord,
01:13:40and your Lord?
01:13:42Our deeds are for us, and your deeds are for you.
01:13:46And it is Him that we serve exclusively.
01:14:14Or do you claim that Abraham, and Ishmael, Isaac, and Jacob, and the descendants of Jacob
01:14:20were Jews or Christians?
01:14:22Say, Who has greater knowledge, you or Allah?
01:14:26Who does greater wrong than he who conceals a testimony he has received from Allah?
01:14:33Allah is not heedless of the things you do.
01:14:50Now they were a people who passed away.
01:14:53Theirs is what they earned, and yours is what you earn.
01:14:57You shall not be questioned concerning what they did.
