UST beats Ateneo in UAAP men's basketball after 9 years  For the first time in nine years, the UST Growling Tigers beat the Ateneo Blue Eagles, 74-64, to go 2-0 in the UAAP Season 87 men's basketball tournament at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Sept. 11, 2024.  With the win, UST ended its 17-game losing skid to Ateneo and joined defending champion La Salle atop the team standings.
