00:00Shaun, obviously the club has released a statement saying it's aware of the comments made by
00:03the tech store in relation to a potential purchase of the club. How aware are you of
00:07those comments and what confidence do you have now that finally you'll get a resolution
00:12to the ownership situation with Vauxhall Football?
00:14Well I don't know about the resolution, obviously that's for upstairs at the club, the bigger
00:20picture, the financial side of the club. Regarding the comments, if you're a prospective owner
00:24and you are going to comment, you're probably going to ask certain questions and that's
00:28the way it goes, you know, finding out about what you're prospectively going to buy or
00:31getting a feel or giving a feel as the case may be.
00:34You also spoke about the respect he has for what you've achieved in your management career
00:38but he also said that he wants to sit down with you and ask do you like Botafogo forwards,
00:43Jesus or Enrique, do you have an ambition to coach that sort of profile, do you have
00:48a system that would work for a squad that is optimised from the best players in the
00:51world? When, if you know, are you likely to speak to Jon Texter and if he gets the opportunity
00:57to ask you those questions, what would you respond to him?
01:00Well I haven't had the chance, you know, I don't think the deal is to that position and
01:04I think it's, you know, like I say if you're a prospective owner of a club you probably
01:08would want to build a relationship or certainly know the manager's thoughts in any situation
01:12so I don't think that's necessarily about me and Everton Football Club, I think it's
01:15about any ownership taking over or trying to take over a club, in due course of course,
01:19you know, he isn't the current owner obviously but if he did take over then I'm sure you'd
01:24have that conversation but I think that's standard practice, I don't think that's relevant
01:27to me.
01:28But what about your response to those questions?
01:30Well, I mean, you know, I'd like to think over my years as a manager I've dealt with
01:34many situations and many different players and many different playing styles so that's
01:38just part of being a Premier League manager, you know, and I've done that for a number
01:42of years now so, you know, I think the variances are what you've got and what players you've
01:46got and the best you can use them and I think, you know, I've tried to adapt to whatever
01:49challenge I've had with the group of players that I've been given.
