00:00I feel like I'm in a competition.
00:01It's the end of the world as we know it.
00:06Did you know Costco has an emergency food bucket?
00:09I didn't either, but I've gotta see what's inside.
00:11I guess it does kinda make you feel good
00:13to have something like this on hand,
00:14just in case you never know.
00:17This is an emergency food supply
00:20that is good for 25 years,
00:22and there are 150 meals in here.
00:26Now, I don't know what to expect.
00:27Are these all gonna be MREs, meals ready to eat?
00:32Is that what that means?
00:33So this bucket at Costco, I ordered online for like 80 bucks.
00:37It was on sale.
00:38For that price, why not have something like this on hand?
00:41Dun, dun, dun.
00:44Oh, cooking instructions and all the contents.
00:48Cheesy macaroni and cheese, apple cinnamon cereal,
00:51pasta alfredo, brown sugar maple cereal,
00:54chicken flavored noodle soup, creamy pasta and vegetables,
00:58teriyaki rice, tomato basil soup, instant white rice,
01:02orange drink mix, crunchy granola,
01:05potatoes and chicken flavored pot pie,
01:07vanilla pudding, and milk alternative.
01:10So there's really 15 meals.
01:13Maybe it's 150 servings, but y'all,
01:15this is about a week's worth of food for your family.
01:18Let's just call it what it is.
01:19You're gonna need like four of these buckets
01:21to get you through a month, okay?
01:22So let's just make it all.
01:24Then we taste.
01:25So all you do is pour the contents of the package
01:28into five cups of water, mix it well,
01:31bring to a boil, simmer for 12 to 15 minutes
01:33and let it stand.
01:34I do like the ease factor of these meals.
01:37So you just set up shop, you know?
01:39You just have your burner or your fire in one pot.
01:42Some water is all you need.
01:44Another breakfast, the granola.
01:46I guess this is how it can last for so long,
01:49these little preservative packet or whatever.
01:52Every little bit counts.
01:53Don't waste.
01:55Whey milk alternative, mm, chunky.
01:58Potato and chicken pot pie.
02:00I think you can order from this company directly
02:03and customize your own kits.
02:06So it's probably good I'm tasting everything for you
02:08so you know what to order.
02:10Cheesy macaroni.
02:11A lot of this is trust in the process, okay?
02:13Because it looks a little weird to begin with,
02:16but I trust the process.
02:17Creamy pasta and vegetables.
02:19It's the end of the world as we know it.
02:23Chicken flavored noodle soup.
02:25That's just a classic.
02:26Teriyaki rice, this one sounds good.
02:29You know, this is when hopefully
02:30you have stocked up your freezer
02:32the way I've taught you in the past.
02:34Because you could be stirring in some chicken to this
02:36or some beef.
02:37You wanna see how we're doing?
02:38My oatmeal is good and ready.
02:41Man, we probably should have written these down
02:43to know what we're eating.
02:44Some of these are gonna start looking the same.
02:47Pasta Alfredo.
02:48They change up the noodle
02:49so it's a different kind of noodle every time.
02:51That's nice.
02:52Tomato basil soup.
02:54Oh, different pasta shape.
02:55I feel like you could stretch the soup
02:57so you could add more water than what it calls for.
03:00The pudding.
03:01I appreciate that they included a dessert
03:03because I like to end my meals with something sweet.
03:07Okay, we are finishing up over here.
03:09Now it's just a matter of time,
03:10but we're about to be eating like kings.
03:14Okay, the drink.
03:16We have to try the drink.
03:18Now this better be tang in here.
03:20Pretty good, though.
03:21It's kind of like a twist between tang and high C.
03:25You know what doesn't go out of style?
03:27Out of date?
03:28Vodka.
03:30Listen, whether I'm making my own vodka or something,
03:32we're gonna be having cocktails.
03:35Calm down, this is just a joke.
03:37We're just testing stuff.
03:40Why not?
03:41It's delicious.
03:43Okay, let's taste.
03:44Starting with our oatmeal.
03:47I would eat that any day.
03:49It's heartier than an oatmeal.
03:50It definitely has a lot of other grains,
03:52so this is what keeps you sustained for the day.
03:56For most of the day, at least.
03:57Now this is the chicken flavored pot pie.
04:01It has that like old school,
04:03like my mom used to make that noodle soup
04:05that came in a packet.
04:06It's kind of like that.
04:07I don't know if it really tastes like chicken pot pie.
04:10Not mad at it.
04:11Looks better than stuff that comes in the blue box.
04:15There's nothing not to like about that.
04:16Okay, that's just your childhood.
04:20Definitely wanna keep that one on hand.
04:21Creamy pasta and vegetables.
04:23And when they say vegetables,
04:25they mean a few peas and a couple carrots.
04:28Not my favorite, not my favorite.
04:30It's just fine.
04:31I would eat it and it would fill me up.
04:34Okay, look at this one.
04:35He is creamy.
04:36This is the one where, you know,
04:38remember if you had that stocked freezer,
04:40it would come in handy.
04:41Any kind of protein to this would be delicious.
04:44This is just right up my alley.
04:45This is the kind of thing I like.
04:46It's just good, it's got flavor, it's satisfying.
04:49It would be something like different.
04:50You've got a lot of these kind of similar flavors
04:52of creaminess.
04:53This one kind of like adds some variety.
04:55Chicken noodle soup, chicken noodle soup.
04:58This one looks good.
05:00This one's got no scary things in it.
05:02Smells good.
05:03This is where I would add a little extra water.
05:05Keep it soupy.
05:07Actually not quite as good as I thought it was gonna be.
05:09Smells better than it tastes.
05:11It's good though, it's fine.
05:12My son would still like it.
05:14I would still eat it.
05:15It would do the trick.
05:16Not my favorite.
05:17Alfredo pasta.
05:19Look at this.
05:20Doesn't that look good?
05:21You know what I really wanna do to all these?
05:23Is like put some cracked pepper on it.
05:25Maybe a little hot sauce.
05:27So keep those in your emergency bucket.
05:29Made all the difference.
05:31This one goes up there with the mac and cheese.
05:32It's just like, can't go wrong.
05:34Can't go wrong with this.
05:36This one's a soup.
05:36This one smells really good.
05:39This one's good.
05:40This one is reminiscent of the old Campbell's
05:43tomato soup in a can.
05:45It's got a lot of flavor actually.
05:47This one's on up there.
05:48On up there with the best.
05:50Now let's see, this is a little loose for a pudding.
05:52I would maybe cut back on the water.
05:54But I feel like it's gonna taste good.
05:56That tastes like the pudding packs.
05:59The ones that come like already made.
06:01It just tastes like your childhood right there.
06:03But if you add some of that granola.
06:05Can't go wrong there.
06:06Can't go wrong.
06:07I'm sorry, the only one I'm not gonna taste,
06:10I just can't, is the milk.
06:13I just don't like milk.
06:14Oh Roscoe.
06:17Oh what's that?
06:18Rice pudding?
06:19It's just whey milk.
06:20From the end of the world?
06:21It's the end of the world, isn't it?
06:22I mean, it's the end of the world.
06:24We're gonna drink.
06:25Aw.
06:28Aw.
06:30I shouldn't have said yes.
06:31Should have had me wide.
06:32Aw.
06:35Oh that's good.
06:35That's all you have to do.
06:38Not as bad as it smells.
06:39Not as bad as it smells at all.
06:41Put some granola with it.
06:42Oh, so you could do that.
06:44Chef.
06:44With cereal.
06:45This came in the bucket?
06:46Yeah.
06:47I mean, hey.
06:48This is not Tang.
06:50Tell me what it reminds you of.
06:52Every drink I had when I was a kid.
06:54Hi-C.
06:55Kool-Aid.
06:56A little bit of Hi-C.
06:57Mm-hmm.
06:58Oh, this is delicious.
06:58You can take that one with you.
06:59The vodka's over there.
07:00Oh buddy.
07:01End of the world.
07:02Here's to the end of the world, guys.
07:03Here's to the end of the world.
07:04You're coming over.
07:05We did it.
07:06I made and tried everything that comes
07:09in the emergency food kit from Costco.
07:11And I'm here to tell you,
07:12overall, I think it's a good investment.
07:15I mean, for less than 70, 80 bucks,
07:18you've got just some reassurance sitting on your shelf
07:22and it's good for 25 years.
07:24Come on.
07:24I think that's tomato soup.
07:26Goulash, if you will.
07:28Yeah, the tomato soup is not bad.
07:29Like, not even kind of bad, actually.
07:31It's just good.
07:32You know, your noodles are not quite al dente, but.
07:34I'm real worried about that.
07:35But.
07:36It's when the world's ending.
07:37Sweet and soft, a little mushy.
07:39But like, it's gonna fill you up.
07:41And like, provide you energy to run
07:43from whatever it is that's going on.
07:48Someone's banging on the bunker door to get in.
07:51Those of you that don't know what Tang is.
07:54Ask your parents.
07:56I thought this whole pack would be like astronaut food.
08:00It's proving to be better than I think
08:01what astronaut food is,
08:02even though I've never had astronaut food.
08:04Except like in kindergarten, when they like let us taste it.
