00:00It's kind of a bummer for Bryce Young, but it probably had to happen just based on how
00:04he was playing.
00:05Like, I don't see how Carolina can continue to trot him out there.
00:07And if you're Dave Canals, who's in his first year as a head coach, if you want to establish
00:10credibility in that locker room, which I know sounds cliche and kind of like rah rah, but
00:15it's I think a real thing amongst NFL players.
00:17If you want to establish that credibility, how do you stand up there in front of the
00:20other 52 guys and say, yeah, Bryce Young is our best quarterback and we're going to continue
00:24to back him.
00:25Like the other guys have eyeballs.
00:26They see that he's terrible.
00:27So you couldn't keep going down this road.
00:30So I think that's why Canals made the move now, as opposed to kind of letting it linger
00:33and then perhaps losing the locker room, which is something that no coach wants to do, especially
00:36a coach who has zero skins on the wall, given the fact that this is his first year as a
00:40head coach.
00:41But I have some other stats for you though, Alex Bryce Young, he has the lowest expected
00:45points added, which is EPA per drop back among quarterbacks since 2022 with a minimum of
00:51500 drop back.
00:53So that's lower than guys like Desmond Ritter.
00:55That's lower than your old fella.
00:56Kenny Pickett.
00:57Josh Dobbs, Davis Mills, Sam Howell.
01:00And yes, even the great Zach Wilson has a better EPA per drop back than Bryce Young.
01:06Like it's been that bad for Bryce Young.
01:08And then this season, the first couple of weeks on passes of 10 plus air yards, Bryce
01:12Young six for 21, 23, three interceptions, those stats courtesy Austin Gale over at the
01:18ring or dropping those on Twitter.
01:19But it's been a disaster for Bryce Young so far in his career, which I completely whiffed.
01:25I thought it was going to be awesome coming out of Alabama.
01:27He was on those Bama teams that he was on.
01:28They weren't like super stacked like the ones that have won national titles in the past.
01:32And he was really good and took him to a national title and then won an SCT like they were really
01:36good teams.
01:38But he was like the main reason why they were awesome.
01:40And I thought he was going to be awesome in the NFL.
01:42Clearly I was wrong.
01:43Clearly a lot of people were wrong because the Panthers, they traded up the sun, the
01:46moon and the stars to go ahead and get him.
01:48I'm sure Bears fans very, very happy that they didn't draft Bryce Young in that draft
01:51because boy, this is a really bad situation for the Panthers.
01:54And I'm not sure how they get out of it because they gave up so many assets to go ahead and
01:58acquire him.
01:59From a betting standpoint, though, when this happened, we were all chatting in our text
02:03chat that we had.
02:04And I think both myself and Nick will tell you this a little bit later on.
02:09Very much interested in the Panthers.
02:10So those were bets that were jammed in right after this news came out.
02:14I am now backing the Carolina Panthers this week, as is the rest of the market, as this
02:17was sitting at seven last night and it's five and a half pretty much across the board.
02:21There's still a six over there.
02:22I bet MGM.
02:23I bet the Panthers.
02:24I suggest betting it there because that's the best price that you're going to get in
02:27the market.
