00:00The Davies Cup took place in Manchester last weekend and despite Great Britain struggling
00:03during the actual tournament, a great time was had by all. Visitors had the opportunity to visit
00:08the fan zone where they could play tennis on mini courts, watch the matches on a big screen
00:11and even try out Padel, the game from Spain that looks set to be the next big thing in sports
00:15centres across the UK. On the actual court, as I alluded to, things unfortunately didn't go well
00:20for the Great British team. Following a heart-wrenching 2-1 defeat to Argentina on Friday,
00:24the Brits were left needing to win all three matches against a very strong Canadian group
00:28in order to progress. Dan Evans was first up and lost to Denis Shapovalov in two sets,
00:33resigning the British side to defeat. Jack Draper still played his match against Felix
00:38Auger-Alissim and was defeated in a fairly tight match before Neil Skopski and Henry Patton
00:42managed to prevent a clean sweep by beating Gabriel Diallo and Alexis Galano. The Brits
00:48were missing Cameron Norrie here and Jack Draper had a very quick turnaround following his success
00:52at the US Open but even so, it will still be hurting and the team will be hoping for redemption
00:57next year. That's all for now, follow Manchester World for more.
