00:00What's happened this weekend in Manchester?
00:02Hello and welcome to Coffee Catch-Up. I've got my coffee, so let's catch up on some of the work that our team have done over the weekend.
00:07We're going to start with some sad news because our editor, Adam Lord, had his last day here last Friday.
00:11He was the mastermind behind the relaunch that's made Manchester World what it is today.
00:14And as a new graduate, when I got this job, I can't be more grateful for the help he gave me and the excellent environment that he fostered.
00:19Wherever he ends up next, we'll be incredibly lucky to have him, and the office will not be the same without him or Sophia, who left us last week.
00:25On to brighter news, though. We do still have the delightful Patrick Hollis, a man capable of holding down our news coverage with the ability of 10 journalists.
00:32And he has been hard at work.
00:34Firstly, he's done a piece on Sports Personality of the Year 2024, which is returning to Solverdam Media City this year on December 17th.
00:40Gary Logan, Alex Scott and Claire Boulding are set to host with nominees for the eight awards set to be released soon.
00:45On the topic of awards, he's also done a piece on 21-year-old Zayn Shafi, who won Young Builder of the Year against Incredible Odds at the Youth Build Awards Ceremony.
00:52We've also got some great sports coverage. Rich Fay has been talking about Reuben Amaruim's start in the Old Trafford dugout.
00:57And Michael Plant has done a great piece on Manchester City's current struggles.
