00:38She was an instrumental figure in bringing shows like Tall Tales and Legends, Fairytale
00:43Theater, and Shelley Duvall's Bedtime Stories to life.
00:46For these efforts, she was even nominated for two Primetime Emmys, which makes it doubly
00:53strange that she wasn't included in this year's In Memoriam segment.
00:57The fact that Duvall didn't get a moment in the segment didn't go unnoticed, and fans
01:01of the acting legend were quick to give the ceremony a piece of their mind on social media,

01:46Last year's Emmy Awards In Memoriam segment snubbed several late greats, including Ray
01:50Stevenson and Raquel Welch.
01:53Along with Shelley Duvall, the latest Emmys In Memoriam ignored names like SCTV and Freaks
01:58and Geeks veteran Joe Flaherty, General Hospital star Johnny Wachter, and The New Dick Van
02:04Dyke Show's Cheetah Rivera.
02:06As a two-time Emmy winner whose SCTV castmates Eugene Levy and Martin Short both appeared
02:11in the ceremony, Flaherty joins Duvall as a particularly prominent snub on the list.
02:16Of course, the unforgiving nature of a live awards ceremony means that In Memoriam's segment
02:21has strict time limitations, and as the 2024 Academy Awards showed, trying to include everyone
02:27in text form can easily come across as disrespectful.
