Team Golden Oldies give senior dogs a new 'leash' on life

Team Golden Oldies is a group and charity based on the Mid North Coast of NSW that adopts, promotes and supports senior dogs.

00:00Okay, team Golden Oldies is basically we try to encourage people to adopt older dogs when

00:26the time is right. There's so many old dogs in pounds and shelters, rescues, they're looking

00:31for a home and I guess I just would like people to consider adopting an older dog, give them

00:38a loving home for whatever time they have left. It's quality, not quantity. Basically

00:45you just want to give them a good life for whatever time they have and enjoy that time.

00:51And then team Golden Oldies, the charity is basically we try and pay it forward and look

00:59after older dogs in the Maclay Valley. I've got 12 dogs, I don't know how many, three

01:15Greyhounds, two Beagles, four Golden Retrievers I have to think, two Labs and a Bitzer. I'll

01:28be honest, my husband died two years ago and they saved me because you have to get up in

01:35the morning when you don't feel like getting up, you've got to get up. So it's entertaining,

01:44it's bedlam at dinner time, but they saved me. They often say who rescues who, well these

01:53have rescued me because I don't think I would have got through that without these guys.

01:57So I owe them a lot.
