00:00Hi guys and welcome to DriveSpark, I'm Prameet and today we are at Udaipur driving this,
00:09now this is the all new Hyundai Alcazar, Hyundai has just launched this vehicle and let's quickly
00:14start this video and I'll tell you everything you need to know about this SUV.
00:30So now let's start talking about the front section of the car and before that let me tell you the
00:35price of this vehicle, so Hyundai has launched the all new Alcazar for Rs. 14.99 lakh for the
00:41petrol variant and 15.99 lakh for the diesel variant, well however this is the top-end signature
00:47variant and this is the petrol, the DCT variant, so this carries a price of Rs. 21.20 lakh ex-showroom
00:54which is the top-end ex-showroom price. So now let's start off with the front section and over
01:00here the very first thing that you will see is from the DRL, now the DRL has an edge pattern,
01:05it has connected and you can see that the indicator is right over here, well however,
01:10headlamp housing is over here, again full LED setup you are going to get on this,
01:15you get a front parking camera, basically you get a 360-degree camera and you also get a radar over
01:20there and this car features level 2 ADAS, so that's why the radar and there is one more camera
01:25over there to assist the radar when you're using the level 2 ADAS features. So as you can see,
01:31it gets an all blacked out grille and the lower section is finished in this silver,
01:35so overall the car looks really nice and this colour that you see over here is the Titan Grey
01:39Matte and this is a brand new colour, well talking about colours, this car has around
01:44nine colour options out of which only one is dual-tone, rest are monotone options and you
01:49have matte options as well, other than that, this has four variants, so yeah, you have a lot to
01:55choose within the all-new Alcazar. So now if you see at the front also, you can also notice that
02:01the Hyundai logo is very neatly integrated and the hood lines and creases make the car look slightly
02:07muscular from the front end. So moving on to the side profile of the car, you will notice that this
02:11gets an all-new alloy wheel design and obviously this is an 18-inch alloy wheel, looks really
02:17fantastic, looks really good while rolling on the road, so you also get body cladding, but it is
02:23again finished in gloss, keeping that premiumness. If you move on, you can see that the pillars are
02:29also finished in gloss and there is a lot of gloss black accent on the car. Body-coloured ORVMs
02:34integrated indicator, again two cameras on each side because of the 360-degree camera,
02:38plus you get the side skirts that is again finished in silver and you can see you get some
02:43amount of chrome on the door handles as well, but that is blacked-out chrome, it is not complete
02:48shiny chrome. Also, roof rails are functional, you get different design for the roof rails,
02:54you get a big panoramic sunroof. So if you move to the back, you will see again that the taillight
02:58design has completely changed, you again get an etched pattern over here and connected LED
03:02tail lamps, plus you have the Alcazar badging which is now embedded inside this transparent
03:07plastic sheet and actually this looks really nice, you get a signature badge over here and
03:12you get a turbo since this is a 1.5 turbo petrol engine, plus you again have your logo that you
03:18get at the front, wiper with a washer, a good spoiler, a high-stock mount light and defoggers
03:24as well, plus you have a parking camera over here and guidelines and again the section,
03:28the lower section of the bumper is completely new and again it is finished in this silver.
03:33Well, now since we're at the back, let's talk about the boot, so to open the boot, you obviously
03:37have a couple of ways to open it and since this is a hydraulic boot, obviously it opens on its own,
03:43so right now you have one cabin bag and one backpack over here and this accounts to around
03:48180 litres of boot space, well if you need more, you just have to fold this seat, the third row
03:53and once the third row is folded, you will get close to around more than 580 litres of boot
03:58space, well that time it will become either a four or a five-seater depending on what variant
04:03you choose for the seating and the boot lid is relatively light and closes easily, so yeah,
04:10this sums up the exterior, now let's go on the inside and I'll tell you what has changed and
04:14what do you get in the all-new Alcazar.
04:16So, now let us check out the second row over here and as you can see, this seat is adjusted
04:31according to my height, for reference, I'm 6'1 and I am pretty comfortable over here, well for
04:37more comfort, you have manual sunshades that are obviously for privacy and if you really don't
04:44need this, you can take this out, but there are a lot of features over here at the back, so let's
04:48quickly start off one by one, if you see over there where your power window is, you get a switch
04:53for the ventilated seats, so yeah, the second row also gets ventilated seats and it is very
04:58comfortable, again adding to the comfort is this headrest over here that has these winglets and
05:04they will not let your head roll off on either side when you're sleeping, plus you get under
05:09thigh support in this for your breakfast and to work you have a table, that is how the cup holder
05:19comes out very neatly done and this seat has a boss mode where you have buttons over here,
05:27so basically you can move the seat ahead and make more space for yourself if you want,
05:32so you have two AC vents over here, a wireless charger over here and two type C charging sockets
05:37and this is the huge panoramic sunroof and it opens up all the way to the back and you can get
05:43a lot of sunlight and get the natural light when you're travelling, also to enter the third row,
05:49you have to enter from here and this is a six-seater variant, well you have a six and a
05:53seven-seater variant, so the seven-seater variant will have a bench over here, but since this is a
05:58six-seater variant, you get captain seats and to add to that, there you have an armrest, so you
06:04just relax and go off to sleep, very comfortable, however the seat is nice, could have slightly more
06:10cushioning, but I think I'm nitpicking right now, I think it is comfortable at the back and you can
06:17adjust the seat according to your will, so now let's move on to the front and I'll tell you more
06:23about that, so now let's check out the front section and let's start off with the dashboard,
06:29so let's check out the dashboard, first of all, it is a completely new dashboard and it is finished
06:34in dual tone, looks really nice, you have glossy black finish as well and you have some silver
06:39accents over here, well the AC vents are completely new, you have some storage space to keep your
06:45phone or wallet over here, then again you have storage space over here, talking about storage
06:48space, you have a cubby hole here, two cup holders and this is again a brand new setup for the screen,
06:54so you get a 10.25, a 10.25 inch screen, both for the instrument cluster and the infotainment
07:00system, so this has a lot of connected features and you can literally toggle through everything
07:05via your phone, you can connect your phone with the car and there are a ton of features, well,
07:09there's one more feature is now you can lock and unlock your car with your phone, so how you can
07:15do it is basically, if you want to give your car to anyone else, you don't have to give this physical
07:19key, you can just send the key via one phone to the another and you can just unlock the car and
07:27to unlock the car, you need to be at least four centimeters away from the door handle, so it'll
07:31unlock on its own and you have to keep the phone on your wireless charging pad over here and then
07:36you can start the car and take it off, so the physical key is not required for this and this
07:41is a very good thing, so whenever you're giving the car to someone, you don't need to physically
07:45give the key out every time and this is your, basically your infotainment and your climate
07:52control zone, so you have two zone climate control, you have a screen in between showing
07:56the temperatures and the airflow, you have a couple of buttons now, here are two rotary knobs
08:03and they are really nice, however, there is one more thing that is, that has a haptic touch and
08:08that is the temperature control, rest everything is a touch button over here, well, moving down,
08:14you have your charging options, your wireless charger, some USB sockets over here, then you
08:21have your drive modes, traction mode button over here, this is your gear selector, ventilated seats
08:25again for the front and you have auto hold, then you have hill descent and your electronic park
08:32brake, talking about the steering wheel, again, it is a flat button steering wheel, looks really sporty
08:37and you have gloss black finishing over here, the steering boundary controls look really nice
08:40and obviously, they are not touch, that is a really good thing because most manufacturers are
08:44giving touch over here now, so you have your physical buttons, you have paddle shifters
08:50and the steering wheel can be adjusted for tilt and telescopic both, however, talking about the
08:55seats, so the seats are also electronically adjustable as you can see over here, both for
08:59the driver and the passenger, so finding the right driving position will not be a problem at all, so
09:06yeah, guys, this was the all-new Alcazar from the inside and yeah, I was talking about the sunroof,
09:11so this is how big the sunroof of the Alcazar is and it opens all the way the back, so that is how
09:18far the sunroof opens and obviously, the rear passengers will also get a good view of what's
09:24going on on the outside, so now let's quickly drive the car and I'll tell you how is the all-new Alcazar to drive.
09:36So, guys, now we're at the driving seat of the all-new Alcazar and first, we will tell you
09:41the engine specifications of this car, now this comes in two engine options, one is a petrol and
09:46the other one is a diesel, both are 1.5 turbocharged engines, so what we are driving today is the 1.5 litre
09:53turbo petrol engine that comes mated to a 6-speed manual or a DCT and we are driving the DCT,
09:59so let us talk about the specs, so the turbo petrol engine produces 160 PS of power and 253 Nm
10:05of peak torque and as I mentioned, it either gets a 6-speed manual or a DCT gearbox, now on the other
10:11hand, the diesel is a 1.5 litre again, it's a turbo diesel engine and that thing produces 116
10:20bhp of power and around 250 Nm of peak torque and that comes mated to either a 6-speed manual
10:26or a 6-speed torque converter, well, since we are driving the petrol today, we will be talking about
10:31this, so as far as the power figure goes, obviously, 160 PS and 253 Nm is quite a decent amount of
10:38power for a vehicle, so the initial acceleration is slightly linear, but I mean, as the boost
10:46fills in and the turbo kicks in, so you have a very strong mid-range and a very good top-end,
10:53so triple diesel speeds come within no time and at lower speeds also, you can drive really
10:59comfortably on higher gears, since this is a turbocharged car, so as far as fuel economy goes,
11:07we have not yet tested the fuel economy, but Hyundai claims that the Alcazar, the new Alcazar
11:12will give somewhere between 17 to 20 kilometres per litre, depending on again, what variant to buy
11:18and also depends on either you have a manual or an automatic gearbox, so the manual apparently
11:23will give you slightly more mileage, let's talk about the suspension, so the suspension is slightly
11:29on the softer side and that is because to give the maximum amount of comfort while you are driving,
11:35so the rider will be very smooth on a smooth tarmac like on the highway, but if you are
11:40encountering any speed bumps or undulations on the road, then you will definitely feel the body roll
11:45and especially in a Ghat section like this, since it's a big car, it sits high, it is a long car as
11:51well, so because of the soft suspension, it has some amount of body roll that can be felt, but
11:57again, these kind of cars are mostly used for either highway tours or city travels, so I mean,
12:03it will be significantly less, but if you try to corner it hard, you will definitely feel the body
12:09roll, apart from that, the steering wheel, so the steering wheel can be pretty light and hard at the
12:15same time and that is because it has got, so this is an electronic steering wheel and it adjusts
12:21according to the drive modes that you have, so talking about the drive modes of the vehicle,
12:25you have three drive modes, that is normal, eco and sport and you have three traction modes as
12:31well, so the traction modes are snow, mud and sand, so depending on where you are, if you are stuck,
12:36this is not an off-roader, so please don't take it off-road, but if you encounter some patch that
12:41is dusty or sandy or muddy, you can use these combinations and take the vehicle out with ease.
12:47Also, talking about the seats, so the seats are really comfortable, the front seat, I just wish
12:52it was slightly more cushiony, I mean, you will get used to it, but I mean, these seats are
12:58comfortable for long drives as well and they are eight-way power adjustable, both for the driver
13:03and the co-passenger and they are ventilated, so I mean, yeah, full comfort when you are travelling
13:10for long tours. So, now let's talk about the safety, so the Alcazar obviously gets six airbags
13:16as standard, apart from that, you have level two ADAS and that ADAS has around 19 features,
13:22that obviously includes your blind spot monitoring, active cruise control, then the emergency braking,
13:27so you have a lot of features in the all-new ADAS that you get with this car, apart from that,
13:33obviously, you have ABS, EVD, hill-hold assist and a lot more safety features that makes the Alcazar
13:40a pretty safe car to drive.
13:46So, guys, this was the all-new Hyundai Alcazar and once again, let me tell you the pricing of
13:50this vehicle, so Hyundai has launched this car at a starting price of Rs 14.99 lakh for the petrol
13:57and 15.99 lakh for the diesel, once again, this is the top-end signature variant of the petrol,
14:03that's the 1.5 DCT variant and this carries a price of Rs 21.2 lakh ex-showroom, so this car,
14:11again, gets nine colour options, four variants and, yeah, a lot of changes from the previous
14:18generation Alcazar. So, yeah, guys, if you have anything else to ask about this car, please
14:22mention it down in the comment section and we will get back to you on that, until then, I'm
14:25Pramit signing out, see you next time, thank you so much for watching, take care, be safe and drive safe.
