00:00Airline passengers can expect lower airfares next month.
00:04Meanwhile, the Bureau of Internal Revenue, or BIR, is banning the sale of vape products,
00:09cigarettes, and heated tobacco products below their minimum price.

00:20Airfares are expected to slide in October, this following the Civil Aeronautics Board
00:25or CABS announcement of a downgrade in fuel surcharge to Level 4 from the current Level
00:305.
00:31Fuel surcharge for domestic flights will range between P117 to P342, while P385.70 to P2,867.82
00:42for international flights.
00:45Department of Budget and Management, or DBM, Secretary Amena Pangandangan said that the
00:49Public Financial Management Reforms Roadmap 2024-2028 will help the government achieve
00:55an A-level credit rating.
00:57The DBM chief noted that while positive economic indicators such as employment rates, GDP growth,
01:04inflation, foreign direct investments, and foreign exchange are showing promising results,
01:09these metrics alone are not enough to secure an A-credit rating.
01:13The Department of Energy, or DOE, has welcomed the latest Board of Investment report showing
01:18a record P1.35 trillion in approved investments this year, exceeding last year's total of
01:25P1.26 trillion.
01:27The agency is encouraged by the energy sector's key role in driving growth, with P1.29 trillion
01:33or 94 percent of the total investments going to renewable energy.
01:38The Bureau of Internal Revenue, or BIR, reminded sellers not to sell cigarettes, vape, and
01:44other tobacco products below floor prices.
01:46The tax agency said Section 145 of the National Internal Revenue Code bans the sale of tobacco
01:52products at a price lower than the combined excise and value-added taxes imposed under
01:57the law.
01:58BIR Commissioner Romy Lumagi Jr. said the sale of such items below the mandated floor
02:03price is a criminal violation penalized by imprisonment of the seller.
