00:00So boys, gloves are off now.
00:02Welcome to Ms. Mojo.
00:04And today we're counting down our picks for the wildest and most intense scenes
00:08in Netflix's summer hit The Perfect Couple.
00:10But be warned of major spoilers ahead.
00:13Mae Pratt?
00:14Honey.
00:17What happened to her?
00:19Number 10.
00:20The opening theme.
00:22One of the most talked about elements of the show isn't its star-studded cast,
00:26its storytelling, or its gorgeous scenery.
00:29Rather, it's the opening credits.
00:37The eye-catching sequence has the cast on the beach showing off their dancing
00:40skills to Meghan Trainor's criminals.
00:42It generated a lot of buzz and perhaps divided fans,
00:46with some praising the creativity and satirical humor,
00:49but others calling it ludicrous and a little weird.
00:52Most of the cast weren't on board either, complaining about how out of place it felt,
00:57and even reportedly forming a protest WhatsApp group.
01:00Liev Schreiber is said to have been the only cast member excited for the choreography,
01:05which isn't surprising.
01:06I loved it.
01:07He knew every single step.
01:09I worked so hard.
01:10He was so prepared.
01:12After all, what's a little dance number for the great Ray Donovan?
01:20Number 9.
01:21Flashback.
01:22While some eagle-eyed viewers spotted Merritt wearing Tag's $18,000 bracelet
01:27during her Maid of Honor speech, their affair is confirmed in the second episode.
01:31It can't just end.
01:33Because you love him?
01:37I'm...
01:38Against a backdrop of fireworks, Emilia is astounded to learn that not only
01:42had Merritt been having a relationship with Tag, but she was also pregnant with his child.
01:47You're pregnant.
01:49Yeah.
01:51Emotions run high as she angrily reacts to the news,
01:54and Merritt seeks comfort and reassurance.
01:56Listen to me for two seconds.
01:58I didn't plan this.
01:59Oh, it's Bart!
02:00This pregnancy is, of course, the linchpin of the series,
02:03and the motive behind Merritt's murder.
02:05So it's a pretty crucial moment.
02:07The scene ends with Emilia alone on the beach,
02:09left to process what she doesn't know will be her last conversation with her best friend.
02:14Number 8.
02:15People Magazine interview.
02:17Greer Garrison Winbury is the author of 29 murder mystery novels
02:21featuring protagonists Dash and Dolly,
02:23who are inspired by her ostensibly perfect marriage to Tag.
02:26I mean, we have teamwork.
02:28Yes.
02:29Teamwork.
02:30Absolutely.
02:31And when the pair sit for an interview with People Magazine
02:34to promote the latest of those novels, they gush on their marriage.
02:37It's all smiles and songs until Greer's family comes up, however,
02:41and the tone immediately darkens.
02:43You don't normally talk about your family.
02:45Well, that's because I went to boarding school when I was five.
02:49This scene may not be as outwardly crazy as some of the others on this list,
02:53but it's power in its subtlety as viewers are warned
02:55that there are secrets just itching to be revealed.
02:58And let's not forget all those helpful marriage tips.
03:01Don't compare your spouse to a horse,
03:02don't talk about your sex life,
03:04and definitely don't call your children inbred.
03:07This one is up at dawn.
03:09Okay, okay.
03:10At dawn, making notes in her little pad,
03:14and feeding inbred children.
03:18Number seven.
03:20Let them eat cake.
03:21At this point in the show,
03:22it's fairly obvious Benji and Amelia aren't getting married anytime soon.
03:26So Thomas and Abby decide to make an afternoon snack out of their wedding cake,
03:30a move which doesn't quite sit right with Benji.
03:33What are you doing?
03:36We're hungry.
03:38He tries to ask them to return the cake,
03:40but not surprisingly, gets nowhere.
03:42He then chases Thomas around the kitchen table for a couple of laps,
03:46before, well, feeding him a lot of the cake.
03:48You wanna eat the f***ing cake, huh?
03:50You wanna eat the f***ing cake, huh?
03:52You wanna eat it?
03:53The brothers get into a good old-fashioned cake fight
03:56before Abby's vintage dress saves the day.
03:58The scene is amusing enough with squeaky voices and saucy spoon licking,
04:02but it does leave viewers wondering,
04:04was there really nothing else to eat in that entire mansion?
04:07He started it.
04:08Debatable.
04:09Number six.
04:10Help me.
04:11It's the morning of Benji and Amelia's wedding,
04:14and Summerland begins to stir.
04:18Greer is going through her morning skincare routine,
04:21Tag is in his office doing what he does best,
04:23and Amelia is trying on her wedding dress when she spots something on the beach.
04:35She goes down to the water's edge in her wedding dress to check it out,
04:38and her screams pierce the air as she discovers Merritt's body.
04:50This is the series' first truly intense moment,
04:52as it goes from a romantic wedding to a summer murder mystery,
04:56and it's the catalyst for all of the craziness and drama to come.
05:00Number five.
05:01Doritos and NDAs.
05:03About halfway through the series,
05:05the family comes together for a pivotal meal.
05:08It starts out amicably enough,
05:09with conversations about hotels, Greer's books, wine, and Doritos.
05:14People love Doritos.
05:15They do.
05:18I love Doritos.
05:20She does.
05:20I mean, I did, when I could still taste them.
05:24But Amelia, still fuming over having to sign an NDA
05:27and not getting straight answers from Benji,
05:29decides to confront the entire family.
05:31Why do you ask people to sign NDAs?
05:33I beg your pardon?
05:35The room grows quiet as Tagg and Greer attempt to explain and deflect,
05:39but Amelia persists.
05:41Thomas, enjoying the drama,
05:42lets slip that Tagg had an affair with Will's former French tutor May Pratt,
05:46and bribed her into silence after she attempted to take her own life.
05:50And that's why you never saw her again.
05:54He doesn't know what he's talking about, William.
05:56An enraged Will storms off,
05:58leaving the rest of the not-so-happy family to awkwardly watch.
06:04Maybe some cool ranch Doritos could have helped ease the tension.
06:08I do love Chablis.
06:10I mean, I think I prefer Italian whites, but whatever.
06:16Greer had high hopes for the launch of her Dash and Dolly Swan song,
06:19Death in Dubai.
06:20Unfortunately, fate had other ideas.
06:24The first obstacle is the appearance of Broderick Graham,
06:27man of mystery and presumably bad guy.
06:30Again, you can cut the tension with a knife,
06:32as he slinks toward her like the Grim Reaper before being escorted out by security.
06:37More alliance than allegiance.
06:40Roger, we need a little help down here.
06:41Just someone's...
06:43Come on. Thank you.
06:45Thank you, Roger.
06:47Send security in now.
06:49Things quiet down for just a moment before the return of a predictably drunk Tagg,
06:53from the police station and looking for some payback.
06:56It isn't a party until someone crashes, right darling?
06:59He commandeers the stage and launches into a tirade
07:02that includes some pretty salacious tidbits,
07:04and maybe the world's most awkward Rick roll.
07:07Cause I'm never gonna give you up,
07:10never gonna let you down.
07:13He then tumbles off the stage just as the balloons fall.
07:16Cue the marching band.
07:23Number three.
07:25Meet Not Cute.
07:26Greer returns from the police station,
07:28with Broderick to find Tagg practicing a damage control speech,
07:31so everything can go back to the way it was.
07:34Instead, Greer decides she's had enough and things need to change.
07:38No, it's not gonna go back to the way it was.
07:40I'm not going back to the way I was,
07:43because really, I've been living a lie, haven't I?
07:47So she tells everyone the story of how she and Tagg first met,
07:50and not that fairy tale about meeting at an art gallery opening.
07:53We met in a bar.
07:55What are you doing?
07:57It turns out Greer had been a high-end escort and Tagg a repeat client.
08:01Nicole Kidman's stellar delivery leaves the Winbury boys in shock,
08:05and has us picking our jaws up off the floor.
08:08I was an escort.
08:10A very high-end escort.
08:11I had sex with men for money.
08:14My brother organized the clientele, and your father was one of those men.
08:18The scene also finally dispels the fictitious idea
08:21that Tagg and Greer are the perfect couple,
08:23or anything even remotely close.
08:25Here's hoping Greer's next book has more juicy details.
08:31That feels better.
08:35Halfway through the final episode,
08:37police believe they know exactly what happened.
08:39Greer and Shooter gave Broderick $300,000 as payment to kill Merritt.
08:44Well, that was a gift.
08:48Okay, why would anyone gift you $300,000?
08:51Because I asked very nicely.
08:53They're so confident in this theory that they basically throw out the rulebook
08:57and interrogate Greer and Broderick at the same time with no lawyers.
09:01The interrogation goes around in circles until Greer hears
09:04that Shooter has been brought in and reveals the truth.
09:07Broderick is her brother,
09:09and the $300,000 was a loan to pay off his gambling debts.
09:13This is the reason.
09:15It's as simple as that.
09:16So there it is.
09:17The police can only look dumbfounded as their brilliant theory is eviscerated
09:21and it's back to square one.
09:23This scene gets an F in police work,
09:25but an A for entertainment value.
09:29I did not see that coming.
09:30Neither did I.
09:31Nope.

09:51As the show barreled to its conclusion,
09:53the identity of Merritt's killer was the final secret.
09:56It wasn't Greer, Broderick, or Tag.
09:59It certainly wasn't Colonel Mustard in the library with the candlestick.
10:02In fact, it was Abby.
10:04So, did you know that Isabelle Nolet loaned Thomas money?
10:13I knew that he was managing her investment.
10:16Thomas's very pregnant and often sardonic wife.
10:20She drugged Merritt using a pentobarbital pill
10:23and drowned her in the ocean with an almost blank look on her face.
10:26Ironically, her husband helped reveal the motive,
10:29keeping Merritt from giving birth
10:30and delaying the Winbury Trust Fund payout by 18 years.
10:34So it was all about money.
10:36Abby is arrested and dragged off kicking and screaming,
10:40while the rest of the family just watches.
10:42Don't do something for once in your f***ing life!
10:44You can decide at any time.
10:46Despite an excellent performance from Dakota Fanning, however,
10:49it was an ending that received mixed reviews from fans.
