00:00I'll see you in the next one.
00:05Oh, anyway, Jimmy, I want to
00:06talk to you about your
00:07brilliant career. First of all,
00:08you're uh obviously, you
00:10followed in your father's
00:11footsteps. How great is it? Uh
00:14when you think back at at what
00:15your dad did and what you've
00:17been doing now for almost 3
00:18decades. Uh calling fights and
00:21being in the ring and
00:22announcing all these great uh
00:24cards. I have seen you at
00:25fights now for 30 years. I've
00:28doing fights. I did it with
00:30HBO. I did it with Showtime.
00:31I did it with the BBC. I've
00:33done it with everything. I'm
00:33Bruce Bank. You name it. It
00:35goes down the list. Uh what
00:37is it like for you uh to
00:38follow in your dad's
00:39footsteps and still be doing
00:41this? Uh it's gotta be a
00:42kicker. It sure is a kicker
00:44and I know we have something
00:45in common with that that that
00:46you followed in your father's
00:47footsteps and I did too. I
00:48never intended to. I intended
00:50to. I was going to college and
00:52studied psychology intended
00:54another career direction but I
00:55needed some money and I think
00:57it was just a destiny and I
00:58feel really grateful for it. I
01:00I didn't plan it um but I I'll
01:02take this opportunity. I and I
01:04am forever grateful to to be
01:06part of these great fights.
01:07It's actually now 4 decades.
01:09I've been announcing for over
01:1040 years now and um to be you
01:14know to be in the front seat
01:15to some of these great fights
01:16to get to know parts of history
01:17throughout the years. It's
01:18just been great and so I love
01:20it. I don't have any intention
01:22of stopping. I love it and I'll
01:23keep going as long as I do.
01:25I love it. So, of all the
01:26fights, you you've worked with
01:28all these outfits. Uh every one
01:30of them like I have uh but the
01:33fights that you've done. Uh I
01:35was at a lot of them. Uh I was
01:37looking at the list. Uh the
01:39Tyson Holyfield. Obviously, no
01:41one will ever forget that
01:42Winky and Felix Trinidad. Uh
01:45Floyd and Manny. I mean the
01:47list goes on and on. Are there
01:49some that are your favorites
01:51that stand out to you or is it
01:54the same every every time you
01:56get excited no matter what the
01:58card is, what the event is,
02:01whether it's the T-Mobile or
02:02the Grand Garden Arena or
02:03whether it's somewhere
02:04overseas or whether it's in New
02:06York, is it the same
02:08butterflies and fervor for
02:10doing it for every card or is
02:12some that you remember from the
02:14past stood out more to you
02:15than let's say doing it
02:16tomorrow night. Some stand out
02:19for sure. Uh and I'm going to
02:21say that I'm also a person that
02:23I'm a fan of. I'm a fan of
02:25each fighter deserves, you
02:27know, the best introduction as
02:29possible but let's face it.
02:31Some fights are bigger than
02:32others. Some are more
02:33important. Some fighters are
02:34more important. They deserve
02:35recognition and proper
02:37pronunciation of their name and
02:38all the details but some I get
02:40up for because I'm a fight fan.
02:42I would say that, you know, I
02:44did Tyson Buster Douglas in
02:46Tokyo. That was my credible.
02:47Incredible. How can I ever
02:49forget that night? Yeah, it
02:50was the first, you know, mega
02:52night. It was just fantastic.
02:53And then it turns out to be
02:54the biggest upset maybe in
02:56sports history. Yeah. And
02:58that, you know, the quiet
03:00Tokyo Arena when this amazing
03:03story was unfolding and you
03:05could kind of hear a pin drop
03:06except for Don King. Yeah.
03:07His voice ring out throughout.
03:09You know, some of my favorite
03:11fighters, Chavez, Trinidad,
03:12throughout the years, you
03:13know, Mayweather, Pacquiao,
03:15you know, Gervonta Davis is
03:16fantastic. And you know,
03:18Tyson Fury is just a great
03:20show to see. I saw the
03:22three of those. Yeah. And in
03:23England, he's just he draws
03:25quite a crowd. So I've been
03:27honored for all that. But I
03:28would say the one that always
03:29stands out for me is Chavez
03:32versus Greg Haugen in Mexico
03:33City with one hundred thirty
03:34five thousand people there.
03:36Yeah. That city's amazing.
03:37Unbelievable. And I remember
03:40rehearsing in the afternoon.
03:42They had me rehearse at that
03:43time. And about fifteen
03:45thousand people were there at
03:46rehearsal, you know, and it
03:47was just just like how many
03:49people they had there today
03:50for the weigh in. That was at
03:51a rehearsal. Yes. At a
03:52rehearsal. Twelve twelve in
03:54the afternoon. And when that
03:56place filled up, I tell the
03:58story that I could I was in
04:00the ring with Don King right
04:01before the main fighters were
04:03coming out. They had a laser
04:04light show and it was music
04:05was really beautiful. It was
04:07just really well done. And I
04:09could see kind of like little
04:10tears come out of his eyes
04:11like he was moved by the guy
04:13that's, you know, been
04:14everywhere. Later, I realized
04:16maybe he was counting the
04:17proceeds of the of the crowd
04:19and the amount of tickets he
04:20sold.
