00:00These are the features we're monitoring. We have two secondary features. The first one being tropical rainstorm Gordon.
00:05That is going to continue to drift its way up to the north and then away from the east coast.
00:09We also have a wave just to the east of Gordon. Now we will be watching for some potential development,
00:15but it's going to be these areas across the Caribbean that we are watching very carefully for that potentially dangerous development
00:21as we head into early parts of next week. Explosive development possible here for us because as we head into the weekend,
00:27a very strong dip in the jet stream is going to bring just the right ingredients for that development to just explode here across these areas
00:35because we're going to have very warm water, abundant moisture and low wind shear.
00:40And when you get that combination of those three things, you're going to see that explosive development happening here.
00:46And the thing we're watching in addition to that is going to be the track potential here as we head into early next week.
00:52So for our tropical tracker, this is our area of potential development.
00:55You can see this area right here. We have highlighted that is at the very tip top of our scale.
01:01Our development potential is at a high. So yes, we will be watching out for development of a tropical storm,
01:07if not a named hurricane as we head into the early parts of next week.
01:11And this is that track I was talking about. We still have plenty of time to go here before the storm is even developing.
01:17So we will be watching out for any of the certain potential tracks that this storm could take.
01:22One of them could take it directly into the Gulf of Mexico, impacting the Florida coast.
01:25We'll be watching that. The primary thing we're going to be watching as far as any potential development for that track
01:31will be the exact orientation of the jet stream.
01:33The jet stream can either steer or deflect any potential hurricanes here across the Gulf Coast.
01:39So depending on the orientation of the jet stream,
01:42that is where we're going to be watching very carefully here as we head into next week.
01:45And because of that, once again, we are, yes, past the peak of September 10th for our hurricane season.
01:50But once again, we're right here. And right here is still at a very active time of the year here
01:55for any potential development here with named storms and hurricanes.
01:58So definitely not the time to let your guard down. We'll continue to track this.
