00:00The show started in 1954, and we're happy that we're coming up to our 70th year.
00:09The show's going strong, which is a good thing, with the demographics of the area starting
00:14to get built out.
00:15We've been able to sustain it and actually attract people from Newcastle and the Central
00:21Coast and stick to the originality of a show, and keeping all the elements of what a country
00:33show's about.
00:34We had record numbers last year, which we were shocked.
00:39We'd lost two shows due to COVID and one due to flooding in 2022, so we were out of the
00:45loop a little bit.
00:47We expected crowds on the Saturday to be up around 7,000 to 8,000, and probably popped
00:52out to over 11,000.
00:54So we're hoping that it keeps going, and we've taken measures to make sure that we've got
01:01extra food, extra toilets, extra car parking to try and cater for that.
01:07It is a problem, but it's probably a good problem to have.
01:10We've got a lot of new variety.
01:12We like to keep things, change things around and make it different.
01:14We've got Kate Clancy from Narrabri doing a horse trick show, and she's got a fire show
01:20with the horses she'll do on Saturday night.
01:23We've got whip-cracking demonstrations, everything down to medieval, to all the pavilions.
01:29As you can see behind us, all the pavilions will be full with horticulture and arts and
01:33craft photography.
01:36Also there's sheep-shearing demonstrations, and then we've got all livestock on show all
01:40day Saturday and Sunday, and a huge dog program on Sunday.
01:46Buy your tickets online, make the process a little bit easier getting in, and yeah,
01:51come in early.
01:52The show's more about not just the rodeo and the fireworks, there's plenty on offer, so
01:57get in early and have a great weekend.
