00:00We asked young people what kinds of financial hardship they'd experienced, and it's really
00:06important to know that these aren't just missing out on one-off occasions. These are things
00:12like young people saying that they couldn't afford school expenses, they couldn't go on
00:16school excursions, that their families couldn't afford to pay for their car to get fixed or
00:21to pay for the bills. They were missing meals at times, and we saw that throughout the report
00:26that there were just things that are really important to young people, like they weren't
00:30able to take part in sporting activities either as a spectator or a participant. Those things
00:34are so important when they're at that age for not just their sporting activity and their
00:39leisure activity, but for the connections that they form during those times. It shows
00:43us that they really are being impacted by the things that are happening around them
00:46now and that those impacts and their awareness of these things are really impacting how they're
00:51feeling right now. That's a really important thing for us to understand because what's
00:55happening for them right now is really going to affect them into their future.
