Frank Grillo avenges his fallen mercenaries, but Film Brain finds this routine action movie isn't even well-made, let alone entertaining.

00:00Frank Grillo is out on a mission of revenge in Hounds of War.
00:03Grillo is the sole survivor when his band of mercenaries is betrayed by Colonel Robert Patrick,
00:09so Grillo decides to avenge them by trying to outsmart the CIA with the aid of his ex, Rona Mitra.
00:15The film is helmed by veteran direct-video-action director Isaac Florentine,
00:19who's previously helmed entries in the Ninja and Undisputed franchises,
00:22and there is some decent fight choreography at points,
00:25when it's not being ruined by terrible staccato jump cut editing.
00:29The movie is distractingly cheap-looking, and the acting outside of the leads is rather iffy,
00:35to say the least, although Grillo just grunts his way through in a leather jacket,
00:39and Patrick spends most of his time screaming in an office somewhere.
00:43At one point, someone pronounces Libya Lybia.
00:48This is a paint-by-numbers disposable action movie,
00:51and calling it forgettable might be being charitable.
00:53I've probably seen this exact kind of film 500 times before.
00:58501 times.
