00:00Palmer Holden, replacing Oluwaseun Adewumi
00:07Which was the original planned change for Dundee
00:13Adewumi, picking up that knock
00:17Just waited till half time to make the change, so Diamondi
00:22Clearly direct replacement for Sterling, for the position that he was playing in today anyway
00:28Cyril Desser's goal that separates the two sides, the holders in front
00:35Looking to join Motherwell and Aberdeen doing their job at the moment as well
00:422-0 up on Spartans at half time
00:45Kevin Nisbet and Papagei, two goalscorers up at the tawdry
00:5745 minutes from Hamden
01:07Of course Rangers have only played up four times this year
01:12It was a venue for one of their defeats and a damaging one as well against Dinamo Kiev
01:18In the Champions League playoff
01:20Huge game for Philippe Clement on Thursday evening
01:30Heading over to Sweden to face Malmo as they get their Europa League campaign off and running
01:36John Suter and Teslas was almost onto that
01:53That's better for me, you see John Suter attacking that space I was talking about in the first half
02:03Very close to releasing Cyril Desser's through the middle there
02:08Just far too often I felt in the first half, Suter and Robin Propper in particular
02:14They were just quite happy to hold their position, retain the ball
02:18But taking any real impetus and pace out of the build up of the game
02:24On that occasion Suter, he sees the space in front of him, he steps into the game
02:27Very close to putting his striker through on goal
02:34Suter's moving back into a corner here, he's done really well to make the sliding pass up to Tavernier
02:45He was a bit lazy with his pass infield
02:48Poor from Rangers captain there
02:53Interception and then Tiffany driving away
02:59Surprised that there was not even a word spoken to the captain there
03:10Tiffany was through, there was a gap that he was driving at, in behind the Rangers full-back
03:16Braybrooke was rather lofty and too tempting for Jack Butland to come out and take
03:23And try to get Rangers on the counter-attack
03:26Desser's rather biased there
03:31Yes, good counter-attack from Rangers
03:34It's a good game, it's a good game
03:37It's a good game, it's a good game
03:40It's a good game, it's a good game
03:43It's a good game, it's a good game
03:46It's a good game, it's a good game
03:49It's a good game, it's a good game
03:52It's a good game, it's a good game
03:55It's a good game, it's a good game
03:57It's a good game, it's a good game
04:00It ends up deflecting off of Tiffany in behind for the corner kick
04:04But it just goes to show that it all came from Braybrooke's free kick that was far too lofty
04:11The goalkeeper of the quality of Jack Butland, very easy for him to come out and collect
04:16Tamedere's delivery and it is a penalty kick to Rangers
04:21Mo Salah with the challenge
04:25This one will be checked
04:29Yellow card comes out for Salah, the first of the game
04:33Chris Graham's initial decision was to award penalty
04:37You saw it in the first half, Rory
04:40You saw it in the first half
04:42I don't think there's too many complaints from Mo Salah
04:45Cyril Desser's gets the run on him
04:48I've got to be honest, I think the one in the first half is actually worse
04:51Yes, he's got his arms over him but he's grappling, he's challenging
04:55He manages to get the block in there
04:58It's just...
05:02A repeat of what happened in the first half
05:05I'm surprised that maybe they didn't even swap it up and get Salah away from Desser
05:10Because it was happening in the first half, he was getting away with it
05:13The goalkeeper threw it at half time
05:15But they've been punished for it now and it could well be a big turning point in this game for Rangers
05:20In terms of driving home that dominance
05:23James Tavernier
05:25In a familiar position of lining up from 12 yards
05:34Scored five times in his career against Dundee
05:45James Tavernier beats Trevor Cox and Rangers go two up
05:50And they look to be on their way to the Premier Sports Cup semi finals
06:03That's a great finish from James Tavernier
06:06He's no stranger to penalty kicks and finding the back of the net
06:11Whipped into the corner
06:13Trevor Cox has got no chance
06:15It's just a really, really poor bit of play from Mo Salah
06:19Giving Rangers the opportunity to make it two
06:22Right at the start of the second half
06:25Tony Docherty will just be shaking his head in disbelief that they've allowed
06:30Tavernier the opportunity to slam it in the back of the net
06:35He would have been happy to get to half time 1-0 and thinking
06:39Okay we can build in the second half here but
06:42They've just pressed the self destruct button there
06:49For Rangers now
06:51Great opportunity for them to really
06:54Go after Dundee here and
06:56And try and
06:58Get some more goals and
07:00Build some confidence and also build a little bit of a narrative in terms of
07:04Back at Ibrox
07:06And that things are turning for the season here
07:14Tavernier
07:15Steal Monday in space
07:17He's continued his run
07:19Cherny coming into the box
07:20It's for Tavernier almost
07:22Now Lawrence
07:25Lashes it over the top
07:27From Tom Lawrence
07:28Rangers threatening
07:30To open up an even bigger gap
07:32Yeah looking dangerous I mean
07:34It originally starts because Diomondi's got so much space
07:38You see how close Cherny was there to picking out the captain for a second for
07:42Tavernier
07:44Eventually Tom Lawrence blazing it
07:46Well over but
07:48Yeah that all started because
07:51Diomondi was allowed far too much space in behind the Dundee midfield
07:55The defence was just sitting off
07:58And he's able to get turned and
08:00As soon as you allow somebody with quality like that to turn and drive
08:04They're going to start to find gaps
08:06Cherny goes back to
08:08James Tavernier
08:10Second goal has just given Rangers
08:13Freedom now to
08:15Try to enjoy this second half
08:20Build on their position
08:21Lawrence
08:23A loose one to Tiffany
08:25Brilliant touch from Lyle Cameron
08:28Tiffany
08:29Then cuts it
08:31And it's a goal
08:32Lyle Cameron
08:33Tiffany
08:34Then couldn't quite pick out Murray
08:38Well yeah initially a lovely touch from Cameron
08:42Tiffany picks that ball up again
08:44I understand you know he's looking to try and release
08:46Simon Murray
08:47Quickly but
08:49He could have taken a couple of extra touches and
08:51Driven forward himself
08:54Just to make sure that final ball was on point
08:57Palmer Holden
08:58In his first real involvement
09:00Jack Butland
09:01Required to tip it over his own bar
09:08I'm not sure that Palmer Holden catches it just the way he wants
09:14Just to
09:16Force Jack Butland into dealing with it
09:20Lovely return there from
09:21Lyle Cameron
09:22Lyle Cameron
09:28Corner
09:30Meteo attacks it
09:31There's Murray
09:32What a chance
09:33Somehow it stays out
09:37Easily Dundee's best chance
09:40Fell to the man they would want it to as well
09:42And Simon Murray
09:43Rangers managed to
09:44Scramble it clear but only as far now as Lyle Cameron
09:48And it remains 2-0 crucially
09:52Yeah what a huge chance that was for
09:54Simon Murray
09:57Initially you're thinking he was going to bundle it in the net
09:59He didn't and when it came back to him you're thinking
10:02Surely he was going to find it
10:06In the back of the net
10:07But
10:09Somehow Rangers have managed to keep it out
10:13Slavkesh
10:15That's the post game at left back for
10:18Dundee
10:22You see Gometeo being able to
10:24Drive and get the head up
10:27By the way
10:28What a save that is from Jack Butland
10:30Didn't really
10:31See it
10:33When it happened live
10:35Takes it right off of
10:38Simon Murray's
10:39It looked as if he was just going to nod it in the back of the net there
10:41Great goalkeeping
10:44Raybrook delivers
10:45It's knocked out
10:46At the front post by
10:48James Tavernier
10:49It was delivered in with
10:50Pace though and now Dessers
10:52Lawrence
10:53By Rami
10:55Cherney now out to the left hand side
10:57Jefte
10:59Making up ground ahead of him
11:03Diamande
11:07Barron
11:08Jefte
11:16Just looking for that
11:17Ball into
11:20Likely recipient
11:22Dessers not there
11:35Raybrook and
11:36Barron was having a nibble away
11:37That's allowed by Rami to
11:39Steal it back for Rangers
11:48You see this
11:49Different angle
11:50Gometeo getting it
11:51First save but just there
11:53The reactions there from
11:54Jack Butland
11:57It's as good as a goal
11:58It really is because
12:01Rangers are 2-0 up
12:03That was a
12:05Wonderful opportunity for Dundee perhaps to
12:07Get themselves right back into the game but the goalkeeper
12:09Comes up with a huge moment
12:13Getting his fist up and clearing it away from
12:15Simon Murray's head there as it looked as if it was just
12:17Ricocheting
12:18Up for the strike
12:19It would be able to nod in
12:21To the right
12:26Simon Murray had scored in
12:27Ross County's victory
12:28Their first ever against Rangers
12:31Last season
12:36It's well done by Cameron
12:37Out to Tiffany
12:39He looks to attack Suter
12:41Tavenier getting back
12:42Tiffany just lost his bearings a little
12:44Now needs some
12:45Support
12:46Marques
12:48Trying to provide that
12:51Tiffany was wanting
12:52Marques to run on the inside line
13:16Gometeo
13:17Was for Obama Hall
13:18But he was coming back
13:19From an offside position
13:22Tavenier
13:48Tavenier in space
13:51Cerny
13:52Just delaying
13:53Curling his run
13:54And now it comes his way
13:56Paslav Cerny
13:58Wants to come in on the left foot
14:00It's Cerny
14:01Gets the strike away
14:02Carson
14:03Is always getting behind that
14:08You can see what Cerny was obviously trying to do
14:10Trying to drive on the inside
14:11And then reverse it
14:12Back into the bottom corner
14:13But
14:14Just wasn't able to catch it
14:17Cleanly enough and
14:19Probably
14:20Pitching
14:21Ever so slightly
14:22For him to be able to get it back
14:23And right into the corner
14:24Ends up being a comfortable enough save
14:26For Trevor Carson
14:32Cameron
14:35That's McGee well forward
14:36Looking for Palmer
14:37Holden
14:42Space really
14:45Down towards the
14:46Byline
14:51Tavenier
15:05It's Tavenier
15:14Cerny
15:15Tavenier
15:17Got the move started
15:18Skipper
15:19Dessers
15:21Byramy
15:22Oh great save Carson
15:25Denying
15:27Hitting Byramy
15:28The goal on his
15:29First appearance at Ibrox
15:32Well it's a good driving run from Tavenier here
15:34Looks as if Dessers was going to be able to get in
15:39A really strong save there from Carson
15:44Close range
15:46Fist in from Byramy
15:47And
15:48Dundee keeper is able to get
15:51The ball up and over the crossbar
15:53From such close range
15:54That is a very good save
16:00Tavenier towards Suter at the back post
16:02But spilling Pimentel
16:04In that area
16:08An hour played at Ibrox
16:09So far so good
16:11For Rangers that have been
16:12The third goal for
16:13Aberdeen Leighton Clarks
16:15Scoring early on in that
16:17Second half up at Todry
16:19So they're
16:20Certainly looking very good indeed
16:223-0 up against Spartans
16:30The out swinger this time from Tavenier
16:34Kicks from the touch
16:35But the baron should
16:37Get this swing back
16:38The other way but
16:40It's Cometio
16:41He had two over on the left hand side
16:43And Tiffany and Murray
16:44Were breaking at pace
16:47Again just that little bit of composure
16:49That's lacking at a crucial moment
16:54Predominantly left footed
16:55He just had to try to get his body shape right
16:57To ping it out to
16:59The opposite side for
17:03For Tiffany that was running through
17:05As you said there was two players
17:07Over for Dundee
17:09Just didn't catch it right at all
17:11Cometio
17:14On the ball again
17:16French defender again
17:17Another lovely touch from
17:19Cameron that gets
17:20Dundee moving
17:21Quick slick passing
17:25A lovely move
17:26From Dundee there
17:27But just the
17:28Poor touch from
17:29Jordan McGee
17:30Kills any attack down that
17:31Right hand side
17:41Silla
17:42Murray
17:43Silla going for it again
17:48Cerny to try
17:50Rangers going up the other end
17:52Slarkesh
17:54Takes it away from him
17:55Now feeds Tiffany
17:56That's Tavernier's ball
18:03Suit up to Baron
18:04It was a confident touch from the
18:07Aberdonian
18:09Well that's good play from Rangers
18:10Under a fair bit of pressure there
18:11From Dundee
18:12Pressing them on the edge of the box
18:14But
18:15Good quick
18:16Passing
18:17Being able to break through
18:39Baron
18:40Nice pick out for Lawrence
18:42Cerny
18:44Cerny deflected
18:45And Carson with the save
18:47Dessos
18:48Down he goes
18:49And the flag
18:50Does go up
18:59Again you can see what he's trying to do here
19:01Trying to find that
19:02Far corner
19:03And just takes the flick off of Portales and brings it
19:06Closer towards the middle of the goal
19:11Go on
19:12Go on
19:13Go on
19:31Jack Buckland
19:32Fists that out towards
19:35The suitor
19:36Close enough to
19:37The central defender
19:38It's Tiffany through the legs, Larkesh having a tussle with Diomondi.
19:49Cameron.
19:50Shift of the body weight from Cameron, great ball in too!
19:54That's a fabulous chance for Sid Palmer-Holden,
19:57he really should have scored there for Dundee.
20:00I can tell you, Tony Docherty is furious down in front of us,
20:04because he recognises what a chance this is for Dundee.
20:08Lyle Cameron does brilliantly.
20:10Look at the run from Palmer-Holden,
20:12in between Schefte and Proper.
20:15Terrible defending, really, to be honest.
20:17There's no communication.
20:19Drifts between the two of them.
20:22It's like Desser's goal, the first one,
20:25where he stood him in the middle of the goals,
20:27and the Dundee defence are just ball-watching.
20:31On that occasion, Palmer-Holden's moving,
20:34and the Rangers defenders are, again, just ball-watching,
20:37not picking up the striker.
20:40Tony Docherty turned away in disgust,
20:43because he knows, at 2-0,
20:48Dundee have had a couple of opportunities,
20:50a couple of sights on target,
20:52and you're thinking, if they're able to find the back of the net at this point,
20:58it brings the game right back into the balance.
21:03It's Conor Barron to Schefte.
21:14Schefte on the chase here, he's got it.
21:22Diomondi.
21:24Diomondi.
21:27Carson to hold on.
21:37Not a bad play from Diomondi,
21:39but just a comfortable enough save for Carson,
21:41but you see here again, Palmer-Holden in between the two defenders.
21:45He's got to do better, he has to be scoring there.
21:49FULL-TIME WHISTLE
21:52And Rami to Dessus!
21:55What a finish from Cyril Dessus.
21:58It's beyond doubt now,
22:00and has Rangers returned to Ibrox,
22:03kick-started their season.
22:09Really is a top-draw finish from Cyril Dessus,
22:13early ball in,
22:16from Bayrami.
22:20You see Dessus,
22:22bang, what a corner, that is a great finish from the striker,
22:25it really is.
22:27It's that early ball-in from Bayrami
22:30that gives Dessus that chance.
22:36Well, and I wonder if Cyril Dessus had a little look over towards the bench,
22:40and saw Hamza Ighaman warming up,
22:44and getting ready to come on,
22:46and he thought, if I want anything more out of this,
22:49I'm going to have to get going pretty quickly,
22:52because Ross McCausland and Hamza Ighaman
22:55will be coming on shortly.
22:59There may just be a slight alteration on the numbers of those coming off.
23:04We shall see if Philippe Coman decides
23:09whether Dessus will
23:12be allowed to have a go for his hat-trick,
23:15but the check for offside is over,
23:17it is a Dessus double,
23:20and now the double change will be made,
23:23Vaclav Cerny will come off to be replaced by
23:26Ross McCausland, who scored in that
23:295-2 game at the end of last season here.
23:42And it will be Cyril Dessus,
23:45he'll get a big round of applause.
23:49Another two goals for Cyril Dessus,
23:52up to seven for the season.
23:54Hamza Ighaman,
23:57the Moroccan comes on for
24:00his third appearance for Rangers,
24:03impressed off the bench
24:06against Dundee United last weekend.
24:09And I think a few were intrigued to see him
24:12this time around, but certainly Cyril Dessus
24:15has shown why he is still the starting
24:18centre-forward.
24:21And Josh Mulligan has come on as well for
24:24Sammy Braybrooke.
24:27That third goal really puts the game to bed.
24:34Again it goes back to the situation where you think
24:38for Rangers, the real opportunity here to
24:41put some more goals
24:46on the scoreboard and build the confidence
24:49within the side.
24:52Ighaman coming on as well, he'll be looking to try
24:55to get himself involved.
24:59McCausland, early involvement now
25:02by Rami.
25:05A couple of topping goals from the Albanian.
25:17For Dundee they'll just be looking and thinking
25:20that too many of the key moments
25:23in the game have not been
25:26good enough, giving away the penalty kick
25:29at a key point in the game.
25:32A couple of sightings on goal
25:35where they've not been able to find
25:38the back of the net and get themselves back into the game.
25:41And then straight up the other end, Rangers make it 3-0.
26:02Proper pullback.
26:05He's able to take that down.
26:24Ighaman
26:27just to get the touch through to
26:30Absent.
26:33Play an important role
26:36with Di Milo's injury.
26:39Trouble's continuing after coming back after a long term absence.
26:42It's so vital to have that competition
26:45particularly in those striking areas.
26:52Absolutely, I mean the number of games at Rangers
26:55playing over the course of a season
26:58with European competition and obviously
27:01here looking like going back to Hamden
27:04more games in the cup competitions as well.
27:07You can't just go along with one striker.
27:10Injuries, suspensions alone, never mind the drop
27:13in form, that can happen. You need to have
27:16alternatives.
27:19We're seeing the shaping of Philippe Clement's
27:22first team as well, aren't we? When he came in there was
27:25a lot of players to be moved on.
27:28It was a big job
27:31off the field to try and reshape the squad
27:34but it's certainly been a busy
27:37couple of transfer windows in that sense.
27:55That's really good strength from a striker
27:58under some
28:01real pressure from a couple of Dundee players there
28:04but he holds them off and he retains possession.
28:12Barron who's continuing to mature
28:15into that role. It was always a starter with
28:18his old club Aberdeen but
28:21first names on the team sheet for Rangers
28:24here's Jefty.
28:27The pick out.
28:33Another change coming for Rangers
28:36headed by Rami.
28:39His first stop for
28:42Rangers and supplying
28:45the third goal, the second for Dessers
28:48and this one has
28:51put the result
28:54beyond doubt so Nedim by Rami with an assist
28:57for the crucial third goal for Celia Dessers.
29:04Oscar Cortes
29:07the Colombian
29:10to come on for Rangers.
29:15Just his 11th appearance
29:18that knee injury that he picked up
29:21originally signed in January on loan from L'Anse
29:24but that one
29:30was extended over the summer.
29:44Here's Tiffany
29:48and again Butland comes out and makes a big stop
29:51after Tavenier gave the pass away
29:54straight to Tiffany. Another opportunity
29:57for Dundee.
30:02Cometio
30:05Barron
30:08Terrier in the middle of the park. Higman
30:11Cortes out to the left. McCausland
30:14providing backup. Lawrence leaves it.
30:17Diamonde and over the top and they were queuing up
30:20for Rangers there. Well Philippe come on it's going
30:23nuts in front of us as well. I think he gets that feeling as well
30:26they want to really drive home the ascendancy and
30:29score as many here. It's a great chance from
30:32Diamonde to be able to find
30:35the goal. I mean
30:38it's a really poor bit of play from James Tavenier
30:41He's in the middle of the park. He's playing the ball blind back
30:44into an area. He does not know who's there clearly
30:47That's another one of those situations for Dundee
30:50where opportunity presenting itself and just not
30:53good enough, not clinical enough to
30:56score the goal. At this stage I think it's immaterial anyway
30:59but there's been a number of moments in the game for Tony Docherty
31:02that you look at and think
31:05had his side been just better
31:08in those moments then perhaps they could have got
31:11a bit more out of this game or even exerted a little bit more pressure
31:14on Rangers but
31:17they haven't and
31:20it ends up being a comfortable victory for the
31:23home side here
31:31Jordan Magee just requiring some attention
31:38I go back to the fullback stepping in
31:41It is only Tavenier. You don't see it happening on the left hand side
31:44Normally when you're seeing fullbacks stepping in field like that
31:47they're doing it to open up the
31:50passing line to the wide man. You drive the opposition
31:53in field and for a centre half they can then fire it out
31:56to the wide man. Quick passing to get
31:591v1s in a wide area but when Rangers are doing it
32:02I don't really see the
32:05the sense in what they're doing. It's slow
32:08and they're doing it as a rotation but
32:11not at any real pace that they're moving the opposition around
32:14Tavenier there
32:17he's very very deep over on the
32:20inside channel and
32:23there's no obvious
32:26benefit for them doing that
32:29and they almost
32:32gifted Dundee a goal
32:35Triple change for Dundee. Simon Murray heads off
32:38and Curtis Main replaces him
32:41scored a couple of times for Motherwell against Rangers
32:44and Julian Petro
32:47comes on as well
32:50another of the Burnley loneys
32:53Scott Tiffany makes way and then the final alteration
32:56does come right back with Jordan Magee
32:59heading off and Ethan Ingram
33:02inside from West Bromwich Albion
33:05comes on
33:24So there's a debut for
33:27Petro
33:3020-year-old French winger
33:41Dundee
33:44picks up and
33:47Suter, Lawrence
33:50Dundee and Suter to
33:53move into that wide open space
33:56and Tavenier, Suter still continuing his run
33:59he's got it as well, Lawrence straight at Cometeo
34:02and then Portales with the block on the
34:05second effort and it's rather open now
34:08as Cameron tried to unleash
34:11Palmer Holden
34:19Cortes
34:26Suter
34:29Cosland
34:32no break
34:35for Palmer Holden
34:38finds Josh Mulligan
34:41good defensive play there
34:44from Tom Lawrence
34:47good opportunity for Dundee to counter attack there
34:50but Lawrence
34:54important interception
35:00Nygman
35:03Cosland, neat first touch and second
35:06Portales just did enough
35:15Cortes mainly enjoys a bit of a scrap with centre-backs
35:18not getting any change out of George Suter
35:24Suter
35:43Cortes able to
35:46get turns and space
35:49Nygman
35:52That one in, Sillow is there, there's Tavernier!
35:56Wide it goes and...
36:01May be the end for James Tavernier this evening.
36:03You can see the disappointment of the Rangers captain as well.
36:07Gets in a really good position and just...
36:11wrong contact there.
36:13You know, for a full-back, he's got such a great instinct and...
36:16in and around the box, where to be to get drop-downs and get strikes on goal.
36:21That was another one of those opportunities, but...
36:23failed to hit the target this time.
36:26So another goal for the skipper, his first of the season.
36:31And he is replaced by Narecho Kassanwirjo.
36:36The Netherlands under-21 right-back, on loan from Feyenoord.
36:45That's a debut for Kassanwirjo.
36:50GARY GILLESPIE
36:57Baron.
36:58Great pass to release McCausland.
37:01McCausland, well, after twisting one way then the other,
37:05he looked to have got the better of Gomettio,
37:08but the Frenchman did well to get back and make the challenge.
37:13Yeah, it's good dynamic play from McCausland.
37:16Eventually, as you said there, Gomettio have been able to get that block.
37:22But there's a few moments there where McCausland's looked very dangerous,
37:26driving at the Dundee defence.
37:32One day, extra pulse, and it requires the save from Trevor Carson to keep it out.
37:46That's touched and come off Diamondi.
38:05Mane. Mulligan.
38:09Ingram.
38:12Straight to Butland, who will be keen on keeping on a clean sheet.
38:17Lawrence.
38:18Good, quick play there from Butland.
38:20Huge amount of space for Lawrence to go and attack.
38:23Ingram, he's gonna take this on.
38:32If he'd just waited another second or two and McCausland was up in support on the outside,
38:37we'd have had a 2v1 down the outside of the Dundee defence.
39:01Seven minutes to play at Ibrox Stadium.
39:05Back at their home, and coasting to victory now.
39:19Cortes to McCausland, back it comes to the Colombian, got the shot away well.
39:24And it was straight at Carson.
39:27You can see now that Dundee are tiring, there's big gaps all over the park.
39:32Cortes able to get a strike away.
39:35But it's in the build-up play, it's very easy for Rangers now just to slice open Dundee.
39:42Tony Docherty's telling his team to push up because the defence are dropping so deep
39:46and the gap between the midfield and defence is being exploited.
40:03It's only 43,000 enjoying the return to Ibrox Stadium.
40:09Three goals so far.
40:12Ighaman.
40:14And McCausland.
40:16Back to Ighaman, he wasn't far away this time.
40:19Just trying to guide that one into the far corner.
40:22He's certainly livening things up.
40:25Yellow.
40:27McCausland linking up well here, and they've both been bright.
40:30We were right behind this one, Rory, and you could just see that as soon as he struck it,
40:34unfortunately for him it was curling away, but not a bad strike.
40:38Good idea, picking it up, fire it out wide, and then he was going for the return.
40:43Played back into his path well for McCausland where he could strike it first time,
40:47but just curling away from that far post.
40:52It's a young front three now for Rangers.
40:55McCausland, Ighaman and Cortes.
41:12This is a lot of pressure from Lawrence.
41:21Cortes.
41:29Cortes.
41:31Cortes may need to scamper away.
41:34Palmer holding.
41:36Played back for Josh Mulligan.
41:39Three dropping out of the team, and eventually the delayed flag does go up.
41:52After going nine unbeaten, it's going to be back-to-back defeats for Tony Doherty.
41:59Those two away games in Ross County last weekend.
42:14Back-to-back wins for Rangers.
42:18Before they head to Malmo in Sweden.
42:23Ighaman.
42:47Meteo.
43:01Tallis.
43:06Mulligan to Ingram.
43:18Larkesh can get a hold of that.
43:22That's come off the worse of the two in the challenge.
43:29So you had Larkesh.
43:48Do you think, Michael, this is more like themselves?
43:53Is it the best that we've seen of Rangers this season?
43:57Well, I think it's a positive result.
43:59There's no doubt about that.
44:00It's 3-0.
44:01They're back at Ibrox.
44:02As I said earlier on, they can start to build the feeling and the narrative even within the team
44:08that things are progressing and moving forward.
44:12Clearly, there needs to be better performances if they're going to win things this season.
44:19But at this stage, after the feeling of negativity that's been around, they're back at Ibrox.
44:26They've won 3-0.
44:27They've got a clean sheet as well, obviously.
44:30So there's plenty of things that they can look to build from.
44:35Desos has got two goals as well.
44:37These things that they can get a sense and a feeling of positivity from,
44:41which has been lacking so far this season for them.
44:44That's probably a good time to announce your player of the match this evening.
44:50Desos, man of the match.
44:52He's got two goals.
44:54Very important goals.
44:58He started the game wondering whether Igerman would have got the nod, but he didn't.
45:04The manager went for Desos and he'll feel very much justified in that decision as well,
45:08with his number 9 coming up with two goals and getting man of the match.
45:34FULL-TIME WHISTLE
46:04The season won't quite get on the end of that.
46:09There'll be four additional minutes starting now.
46:15WHISTLE BLOWS
46:34CROWD SINGS
47:04WHISTLE BLOWS
47:34Poor bit of play from Mo Salah, who had previous in the first half and got away with it.
47:40And then gifting a penalty kick right at the start of the second half.
47:45It was the moment where you really got the sense of it was going to be a massive uphill task for Dundee
47:51to get anything out of the game at that stage.
47:56Marquez could only keep it in play for Casemiro.
48:05Proper round two.
48:06Chifting.
48:12Out of space.
48:16Montales.
48:18Cameron.
48:19Shown some really nice touches throughout the game, Lyle Cameron.
48:27Kept in by Marquez.
48:28Petro now.
48:30It's challenging.
48:32Casemiro.
48:35Again, he stays down.
49:00CROWD SINGS
49:19Motherwell through last night.
49:21Aberdeen have won 4-0 against Spartans.
49:26Rangers cruising through here.
49:29And tomorrow will complete the line-up for the Premier Sports Cup semi-finals to be played in November.
49:37Celtic face Falkirk.
49:41Glasgow's east end.
49:52Petro.
49:57Mulligan.
49:59Final seconds.
50:01Try and end in a positive sense for Dundee.
50:05But there will be no goal for Tony Doherty's side.
50:09Three for Philippe Clement and Rangers.
50:12Momentum building.
50:14Positivity growing.
50:17And as quickly as Rangers return to Ibrox,
50:21they will be heading back to Hamden to contest the Premier Sports Cup semi-finals.
50:29In November.
50:30Dessers at the double.
50:32Tavernier from the spot.
50:34And they were never under too much pressure.
50:39Although the second goal came about from another needless challenge from Mo Sila.
50:46In the box that allowed Tavernier to dispatch his penalty.
50:50The third from Cyril Dessers was an immaculate finish.
50:55After he was set up by Nedim Bayrami.
50:58Who was one of a number of players making their first appearance at Ibrox Stadium.
51:06And it does feel a significant moment for Rangers.
51:10They have had their struggles this season.
51:14There has been a feeling of negativity.
51:17And almost when you compare the atmosphere to how they were in the last round against St. Johnson.
51:25Just turning up to Hamden.
51:27It felt like there was negativity.
51:29Now that has been replaced with a positive feeling.
51:32And Rangers are through to the semi-finals.
51:35The final score at Ibrox Stadium.
51:37Rangers 3.
51:39Dundee 0.
51:41Thank you very much.
