00:00As you know, the Heliotrust work in Angola meant a great deal to my mother.
00:04Carrying on her legacy is a responsibility that I take incredibly seriously,
00:09and I think we all know how much she'd want us to finish this particular job.
00:14We're all here because we're a band of true believers fighting for a mine-free world.
00:20Angola has brought a collaborative spirit and relentless determination to this endeavor.
00:26Demining on such a monumental scale is a challenge for any country,
00:32let alone one that has emerged from centuries of colonialism and decades of civil war.
00:38Yet Angola, facing a myriad of urgent challenges, remains steadfast in this mission.
00:46And much has changed in my life and the world since 2019 when I first visited Ujumbo.
00:52In those five years, I have become a father for the second time.
00:56And while you don't need children to have a stake in the future of our planet,
01:00I do know that my mother would have been horrified
01:03that anyone's children or grandchildren live in a world still infested with mines.
01:08Princess Diana walked across a clear, safe path in a minefield in Wambo, Angola,
01:14and galvanized the world's attention.
01:17Her advocacy set the stage for the landmine ban treaty,
01:21and for governments and the private sector to end the scourge of landmine contamination.
01:27The HALO Trust is thrilled, therefore, that her son, Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex,
01:32has directly carried on her legacy and the clarion call for landmine clearance.
