00:00Thankfully a much drier day after a couple of days of heavy rain over
00:05England but it's not a completely dry day and there's still plenty going on
00:08over the next few days. The view from space shows quite nicely the big swirl
00:13of cloud responsible for all the heavy rain through Sunday and Monday that is
00:18now arcing away out into the North Sea. There is another cold front though just
00:24to the north that is both producing some wet weather across northern Scotland and
00:28because it's a cold front introducing colder air so some pretty low
00:32temperatures here with that wet weather across northern Scotland temperatures
00:35struggling for most of the day in single digits. A few scattered showers maybe the
00:39odd heavy one into southeast Scotland this afternoon and one or two scattered
00:44showers too for northern England, north and west Wales, the odd one for Northern
00:47Ireland. We should see some sunny spells here and for western Scotland. Meanwhile
00:50where we've seen all that wet weather over the Midlands and southern England
00:54it should be a dry day but staying predominantly cloudy. The winds though
00:58quite light and temperatures close to average here but as I talked about that
01:02cold front introducing the colder air temperatures really struggling 10 or 11
01:06at best and with the rain as well not a very pleasant day at all across the
01:10northeast of Scotland. That should peter out that rain as we go through the
01:13evening. The showers tending to fade over northern England and southern Scotland
01:17too. We'll keep some showers going though in the far northwest and later in the
01:21night we could see a bit more wet weather just getting into parts of
01:24south Wales and southwest England. For many it'll be a dry night there'll be
01:27some decent clearer spells and that cold air is whooshing southwards so it will
01:32be a chillier night. Temperatures widely down to single figures even in towns and
01:36cities and there'll be a touch of frost through the glens of Scotland. We're way
01:41away from frost though in the far south the temperatures here staying in double
01:44figures a bit more cloud moving in here that will make for quite a drab start
01:48for parts of southeast Wales and southern England tomorrow there will be
01:51some outbreaks of rain here. One or two showers over northern England and still
01:57across northern Scotland but actually much of northern Britain having a decent
02:00day tomorrow mostly dry bright and there will be some sunny spells whereas in the
02:04south we'll see that rain kind of gathering a weather system coming in
02:08from the Atlantic so turning pretty damp over Wales and southwest England
02:12certainly by the afternoon. It's trying to bring in some milder air here as well
02:17so temperatures could certainly by the end of the day get to 17 or 18 for many
02:20though it'll be on the cool side but of course with a bit of sunshine shouldn't
02:24feel too bad. A drier day over northeast Scotland although still one or two
02:28showers you'll notice here. The wetter weather though is certainly focused
02:31across the south by Wednesday evening and it will continue then to march its
02:35way northwards getting heavier and this kind of organizing itself into a band of
02:40heavier rain which will push northwards and then kind of grind to a halt for
02:44Thursday and this is giving us a few headaches the exact position of where
02:48this rain is going to be but it's likely with that easterly wind to bring a very
02:53wet day for parts of northeast England so we do have a Met Office yellow
02:56warning in place here because it's been so wet recently this extra rain falling
03:01during Thursday could cause some further disruption. To the north of that again
03:05some showers and a northerly breeze further south could see some heavier
03:08showers over parts of eastern England during the afternoon. We should also see
03:12some brighter skies developing along from the far south. I said there was
03:16plenty going on didn't I with a bit of brightness here 17 18 degrees but with
03:20that wind and the wet weather over northeast England southeast Scotland
03:23temperatures will struggle to get much above 12 or 13 Celsius. That northerly wind
03:29will push further south as we head into Friday and Saturday but haven't got time
03:33for that now. Make sure you stay up to date and you can catch our deep dive
