A heavy-duty mulching 'robot' machine similar to one seen on Jeremy Clarkson's farm has set to get to work in Shrewsbury clearing up a site that was saved from redevelopment.
The land at Greenfields Recreation Ground has been left overgrown for some time since Shrewsbury Town Council bought it back from a developer earlier this year following a planning row.

00:00Yeah, Colin Harper. I'm treasurer of the Greenfields Community Group.
00:25You've been a member of it for a long time?
00:28I've been a member of the Greenfields Community Group from the conception, which is seven years ago.
00:33So you've seen what's been going on here?
00:35I have, from day one, yes.
00:39The noise that's going on in the background, that's a piece of machinery that's cleaning it off the site, isn't it?
00:45It is, and it's cleaned up the site, and this has all been organised by Shrewsbury Town Council
00:51after negotiations between the Greenfields Community Group and the Shrewsbury Town Council, yes, that's right.
00:58Are you pleased to see the land being cleared now?
01:01Very much so, yes. It's been a long and arduous journey, but it's a start now to getting it back to being accessible to the public.
01:12What are the plans for the future of the site?
01:15Well, we'd like to see it open to everybody, of course, some nature put in there, a sensory garden,
01:24a footpath that people can walk through from an entrance to an exit, either end of the park,
01:29and just generally that people can walk on it safely.
01:32So it's kind of a good journey for you to be on then?
01:35Absolutely, it certainly is, yes.
01:36Do you need more people to become members of the group?
01:39We'd love more people to become members of the group, and if they went on greenfieldscommunitygroup.org,
01:47they can sign up free of charge and become a member and follow us on our website.
01:52Brilliant, thanks very much for your time.
