00:00Enjoy the Phils.
00:01Well, look, hopefully for the next month we're talking a lot of Phillies with you as well.
00:03I know you love when the Philly teams do well and we'll be covering it all.
00:06Thank you, Jaws.
00:07Hey, I don't go in the game tonight.
00:08I wish I would have been there last night when they clinched.
00:11Well let me ask you a dirty question.
00:12Would you have preferred they lost last night so with your own eyes you could see the clincher?
00:18Yes.
00:19Jaws, let me talk some Jaws.
00:25Here's Jaws' response to Jaws.
00:31Alright, get that out of here.
00:34That's when you dropped the line on us a couple months ago.
00:36Jaws, stay well, man.
00:37Good stuff.
00:38Alright, thank you, guys.
00:39You got it.
00:40Great stuff.
00:41Alright, let's welcome in our next guest.
00:42Brandon Graham, obviously, it's just phenomenal, phenomenal having him in studio every single
00:47Tuesday at this time.
00:48For about a half an hour, he'll be fielding phone calls with you.
00:51You can join at 215-592-9494.
00:53BG is always brought to us by Primo Hoagies.
00:56Be like Brandon Graham and make your game day epic with party trays from Primo Hoagies
01:00online at primohoagies.com.
01:02It's not just a hoagie, it's a primo.
01:04It's a 2-1-1 football team and it's Mr. Brandon Graham.
01:07Good morning, BJ.
01:08Good morning, man.
01:09Good morning.
01:10How you doing?
01:11Great.
01:12Better that you guys won a football game, my man.
01:13Hey, I feel you.
01:14Hey, man.
01:15I'm happy, you know, just the way, you know, defense showed up, responded.
01:18Our team responded because it was a together that you got to have in this thing, man.
01:23And I was just happy that we responded.
01:26Is your body happy?
01:28How does your body feel after 35 snaps?
01:31I ain't gonna lie, I feel good, man.
01:33I'm like, hey.
01:35I was like, for me to play 30-something snaps, I was like, okay.
01:38And we was on turf too.
01:40Right now, man, I'm excited because I feel like it's just, I'm building on my body just
01:46as far as taking care of it every Wednesday.
01:49I'm having massage going into a Thursday.
01:51I mean, both days.
01:53And then I just got a regimen that I'm on.
01:55And I do acupuncture.
01:57I do a bunch of different stuff.
01:59I tried that too.
02:01And then, you know, you take your stuff before the game and get ready.
02:03Yeah.
02:04So, Brandon, we'll get to the whole team and the whole deal, but let's focus on the defense for a second.
02:09So there's some stuff in sports that confuses us.
02:11How does a baseball hitter, I mean, Ben, you know, a baseball hitter can go 8 for 10 in
02:15two games and then go 0 for 20 in four.
02:17Like, how and why.
02:18All right.
02:19So, Brandon, help us understand, how does the team defensively struggle so much week two?
02:24And then what a great rebound from you guys two days ago.
02:27How do you make that switch?
02:28What went into it?
02:29Well, you know what?
02:30I just think it was us going through, like John said, like we got four games of finding our identity in this.
02:36And I think that last game was a wake-up call for a lot of us.
02:40You know, I have to say all of us because at the end of the day, when we watched the film,
02:44it was just people out there trying to go grab other people's plays.
02:48And, I mean, it's just, you know, I feel it.
02:50It's the first home game.
02:52Everybody's trying to go get and make a play.
02:54And when we talked about this week was do your job.
02:57I want you to be accountable for what you do.
02:59I'm going to be accountable for what I do.
03:01Y'all trust me.
03:02I trust you.
03:03Let's go out.
03:04Let's just put on a show.
03:05Because when we watched that film, it was more like, dang, man, we can't be letting these games slip.
03:10We know you know what to do.
03:13Just do your job.
03:14Do your job.
03:15And people responded well to it.
03:17I always wondered, as a pass rusher, what your view of blitzing is.
03:23You know, we as fans, we always want to just light it up.
03:27Like, send everybody.
03:28Like, just corner blitz.
03:30Like, send safeties, everyone, every time.
03:33But that's unsound.
03:36And that risks a lot on the backside.
03:38As a pass rusher whose job is specifically, hey, go get that quarterback on the ground,
03:43how do you feel about blitzing, and how well are we getting quarterbacks on the ground so far this year?
03:50Hey, well, this is the third game.
03:53I mean, I know we hit the quarterback a lot this past game, and so I was happy about that.
03:58We didn't even have to blitz as much either.
04:00But Coach always tells us the week of, hey, y'all, we're going to have to have a four-man rush.
04:05We're going to have to do this because we need to play coverage in the back end.
04:08And that's a challenge for us.
04:10And how we building is, you know, we doing the dinners together.
04:15We going out talking about ball a little bit and what y'all thinking, building that chemistry,
04:20like how me and Fletch have where we just look at each other and be like, hey, you know, okay.
04:26You know, and that's it.
04:27Like, it's just no verbal.
04:29Because people listening to NYU out there as a defensive line and the offensive line listening to your calls
04:34and all that stuff, you got to be able to have that bond, that chemistry together.
04:38And I think just with us growing and building together, I know that, you know, they trust us.
04:43And Jalen Carter and I doing what he do in the middle.
04:47And Jordan, I'm telling you, man, Jordan is building as well.
04:50But, man, we got some people that can play this game.
04:54And even Bryce Hough, man, I'm going to defend him because he work his butt off every day.
04:59The stuff ain't came yet.
05:01But as y'all know, he in a new scheme.
05:03I ain't making no excuses for him.
05:04But I know he going to show up big for us this year.
05:08And, you know, I can't wait.
05:09Man, that's nice of you.
05:11Awfully nice.
05:12Brandon Graham with us here on WIP.
05:13We're going to get to phone calls in a moment.
05:15And, again, you can comment on the Phillies who last night clinched the division first time in a long time.
05:18But back to the playoffs for three straight years.
05:20And the playoffs will start, you know, back into next week it looks like for the Phillies in all likelihood
05:24in the divisional round, which would be a Saturday-Sunday start, two Saturdays and Sundays from now.
05:29B.J., let's talk more about Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter.
05:32So I know for a couple years now you've been mentoring these guys.
05:35What do you say to them this week to get them locked in, to bottle up what they did
05:41and do it again and again and again and again?
05:44Because that's what you and Fletcher did for over a decade.
05:47How do you get these guys who have so much talent to do it over and over again?
05:52You know what?
05:53It's so funny you say that because we already had this conversation.
05:55Even after the game I say, you see what I say?
05:58You see what I told you?
05:59If you just get off the ball and be the Rhino I know you can be.
06:02Hey, man, you see what happened?
06:03You wrecked the game.
06:05And I seen him smiling.
06:06He feeling good.
06:08And it's going to be every day.
06:10I mean, you've got to remind people sometimes because, hey, don't get comfortable.
06:14It's like, man, all right, you did that one game just like us as a defense.
06:17We did it.
06:18Man, we couldn't have played better this last game.
06:21But it's just like how are we going to respond to this?
06:24Are we going to buy into what we just did or are we going to keep building?
06:27Keep that same chip on your shoulder because it ain't over.
06:29The mission is the mission.
06:31That's winning week to week so we can get in this postseason.
06:35Then, you know, winning one game at a time
06:37and then hopefully holding that trophy in the end.
06:39Let's get a lot of calls in here.
06:40215-592-9494 to comment on either team.
06:43Also a reminder, Twitter poll question of the day, which is brought to us by Armin Chevrolet.
06:47Armin offering huge savings on every leftover 2024 Equinox remaining in inventory.
06:53Together let's drive.
06:54ArminChevy.com.
06:55The poll question, which is more top of mind for you today?
06:58Obviously both are on our mind, the Eagles and the Philz,
07:01but we ask which is top of mind for you.
07:03Is it A, the Eagles two days after that Saints game
07:05or B, the Phillies the day after they clinched the division for the first time in a while?
07:09Coming up shortly, we'll also play more audio from last night,
07:12including things Rob Thompson, John Middleton,
07:14and some of the stars of the team said after the game.
07:16Let's go to the phones.
07:17Let's talk to Zach in Medford.
07:19Zach, you're on with Brandon Graham.
07:20Good morning, Zach.
07:21Good morning, Zach.
07:22Good morning, guys.
07:23It was a happy accident that I was a little delayed on getting back to my Bluetooth.
07:28BG, I just wanted to thank you for your 15 years here.
07:31My wife and I love you and all that you've done for the city.
07:34Just wanted to get that out of the way.
07:35Man, I appreciate you.
07:38So, A, I wanted to kind of take a victory lap here.
07:41I mentioned last week when I called.
07:43Hold on, a victory lap.
07:44This is an I told you so?
07:45Just to be clear, is that where we're headed?
07:48Less than an I told you so.
07:50Sounds like an I told you.
07:51All right, go ahead.
07:52Did you learn this from listening to Joe?
07:53You never do I told you so.
07:54Exactly, yeah.
07:55I mean, Zach, but it's a given that I told you so.
07:58But tell me how you actually got one right.
08:00Go ahead.
08:01Go ahead.
08:02Well, it's few and far between that I get something right.
08:05But one of the things I said last week is I was hoping that the tight end, Dallas Goddard
08:10and Grant Calcaterra would be more involved.
08:12And I thought that was the key to us winning this week.
08:15And then Dallas goes 170 yards.
08:18And I thought that was integral to us winning this week.
08:21Yep.
08:22And getting Calcaterra involved was awesome as well.
08:25Calcaterra, they're trying to use him as an H-back, as a move guy.
08:30He needs to get a lot better at being that move guy H-back, trying to be the fullback.
08:35Well, he is what he is.
08:36Wow.
08:37I mean, I don't mean that disrespectful.
08:38He's a good receiving tight end that he's better when they use him that way.
08:43Yeah, he's not Keith Byers.
08:44He's not going to be a chess piece to the same extent with the same thud.
08:48All right, Zach, we got you.
08:49We appreciate the call.
08:50Let's go to Chuck in Mount Airy.
08:51Chuck, you're on WIPA.
08:54Hey, I want to say, first of all, good morning, everybody.
08:57I want to say, B.J., you played amazing, man.
08:59I called last week, and I was kind of ripped y'all.
09:01You said you promised that you was going to go out there and do your thing, man.
09:04You see you doing your thing in year 15.
09:06It's just a sight to see.
09:08You set the edge well.
09:09You played the run well.
09:10You rushed the quarterback at the end of the game.
09:13Keep doing your thing, B.J.
09:14Get that defense up to be top five in the league, man.
09:18You know what I mean?
09:19I think you guys are going to be the better of the two units before it's all said and done.
09:23I'm still worried about the offense.
09:25I'm sorry to coach, but you did your thing.
09:28You delivered.
09:29You know what I mean?
09:30I appreciate you in year 15, man.
09:31I don't want to see you go.
09:32You can't retire, man.
09:33It's not your last year, brother.
09:35You got a lot of football left in you, brother.
09:37Think about it, man.
09:38Don't retire yet.
09:39But great job on Sunday, man.
09:40Keep it up.
09:41Hey, man, I appreciate you calling in, Chuck, because I sure was going to say,
09:44Man, you said that already, like you told me last week.
09:47But, hey, let me tell you, man, we know work is not done, man.
09:51We're going to keep it going.
09:52Just like with the offense, hey, stick with us because we can build it.
09:55And I feel like they're going to pop off, and when they get their rhythm,
09:58they're going to hit the ground running.
09:59Special teams are going to keep it up, and we're going to pop one out one of these days with them, too.
10:04And, man, you've got to stay together on it.
10:07And so that's fans included, baby, because we need y'all.
10:10Hold on, Chuck.
10:11Are you an expert at evaluating, like setting an edge?
10:14Like how can you tell that Brandon is doing a good job at that?
10:20I'm not just a buffoon that calls a radio show and just talk and run my guns.
10:24I know football, man.
10:25There you go.
10:26I know a little bit about football.
10:27Nice, Chuck.
10:28I don't have to have played football at a pro level to know football.
10:31I know football.
10:32Well answered, Chuck.
10:33I played it in high school.
10:35I know football.
10:36And B.G. is playing at a high level year 15.
10:40Because he's getting the most snacks.
10:42There you go.
10:43All right, Chuck.
10:44Good call.
10:45That's an interesting point.
10:46So, B.G., let's get to, you know, it's funny.
10:48There's a fourth and one.
10:49So, how many times yesterday did we reference a fourth and one that did not work out?
10:54Yeah.
10:5537?
10:56Quite a few.
10:5757?
10:58Multiple, yeah.
10:59All right, B.G., let's talk about a fourth and one that did work out.
11:02And, frankly, ironically, despite the fourth and one on offense that was discussed much more,
11:08the fourth and one on defense, let's be real, was a more important play.
11:12Because if not for that stop, you guys might lose the game.
11:15Take us inside when you freaking stuffed Alvin Kamara in a huge spot in the second half.
11:22Man, it was all attitude.
11:25And then we had a tip because of somebody getting hurt and then a new lineman coming in.
11:31He just was pointing everywhere he went.
11:33And it was like, oh, yeah, they coming this way.
11:36I couldn't believe it.
11:37Very nice.
11:38I honestly couldn't believe it.
11:39I'd say, oh, they coming this way because he's leaning.
11:42He was leaning hard.
11:43Wow.
11:44And I knew it was one of those plays where the tight end was coming down.
11:46So, I just went straight grab, you know, just like straight ahead.
11:50Yeah.
11:51Because, you know, it's that gap scheme where it's a power where the one guy come down on you
11:54and then everybody, one guy pull.
11:56And, man, we just blew it up.
11:58And Zach Bond came on the edge and blasted that tight end, man.
12:04That's a great feeling.
12:05Oh, that was a good feeling.
12:06That was a huge play, man.
12:07Oh, it was.
12:08After that block punt, boy, that's why I said, like, everybody was just so the sideline was on point
12:14because when sudden change happened, we was just like, man, doping each other up.
12:18Come on.
12:19Let's do it again.
12:20Let's do it again.
12:21And we didn't get tired of doing it.
12:22And that's what I love, that we wasn't tired of doing it, you know.
12:26I mean, we never.
12:27It felt like there was so much, I don't know, like there was more oomph.
12:32Like the whole team, on both sides of the football, there was more aggression.
12:36I mean, we even saw Jalen Carter, there was a shot of him, you know, like just overflowing on the sideline
12:44with angst and aggression, like almost so much he couldn't get it all out on the field.
12:50That's new.
12:52That's great.
12:53I do think that's how you win in the NFL, tapping into that.
12:58What was the difference this week?
13:00Why did we get to that level of emotion?
13:03You know what?
13:04I'm going to give y'all y'all credit, man.
13:06Y'all might have been talking too much, and then somebody had to prove y'all wrong.
13:10It's like when Zach Gertz started taking on blocks after we all were criticizing him
13:15for not taking on that one block.
13:16And you know what?
13:17It was a heartbreaker last game because we knew we should have won that game.
13:20But I'm glad it happened if we was going to do this.
13:22And so now how can we stay here and just keep building on that?
13:26So that's where I'm at.
13:27I mean, I'm not going overboard.
13:29I'm just excited.
13:30We're going to take the wins with the losses and keep them going.
13:32But majority wins.
13:34And I know for me, it's just the message is the message.
13:37How important is it to you?
13:39I mean, y'all showed it now that y'all can do it.
13:41Now I want to see it every week.
13:43And even when we're doing little things like lifting weights on weight days,
13:47get stronger because we're going to need it because as your body going through
13:50the year, you're getting a little weaker if you're not in that weight room.
13:53And you've got to take care of your body.
13:55And so I'm telling them guys, you know, all the good stuff,
13:58they got to want it too.
14:00I can't give it all to them.
14:01And if they don't take it, I mean, it don't add no value.
14:05But I know for sure that these guys are listening because, I mean,
14:08they're showing up.
14:09And so I hope they stay here.
14:10BG in the studio with us as he is every Tuesday, you know,
14:13from 740 to 810 and fielding phone calls.
14:15Also, we'll get some more of the audio from the Phil's last night.
14:18The victory, Rob Thompson, John Middleton after the game.
14:21That's coming up soon.
14:22Ed in Phoenixville right now.
14:23Ed, good morning.
14:25Good morning, guys.
14:26Good morning, BG.
14:27How's the game going?
14:28What's up?
14:29So, if you're Jordan Davis' biggest advocate, I'm probably his second.
14:34So, Sunday's game just, like, just had me all sorts of fired up.
14:40I mean, those first two plays where he would fire off with leverage
14:43and just, like, the violent hands.
14:45Like, he was initiating contact and just ruining folks.
14:49Yeah.
14:50And he actually did the drop to a knee thing too.
14:53And I think this might have been the first or second play, like, giant,
14:56giant.
14:57He started to get moved a little bit, and he had that.
15:00It's like a nice reaction.
15:01Like, just go to a knee, get your footing,
15:04and then right back to domination of two men in front of him.
15:08The guy is strong.
15:10He's strong, man.
15:11Got to believe in himself.
15:12Like anybody, as a young guy, I'm with you, Ed, man.
15:16Like, it's just a experience, and then you're getting reps,
15:20and then on top of that, you're growing, you're maturing.
15:23And I'm happy that these guys are maturing at a time where we need them
15:26right now, this year, because they got the keys.
15:28And I told them, man, don't get them keys away, you know,
15:32until you out of here, you know,
15:33because that's what the whole goal was when they drafted you in the first
15:36round is, like, go out here, man, show them what you can do.
15:39And I'm going to stay on them, though.
15:41If you advocate for them, I'm on them.
15:43If he plays with technique, nobody, I mean, nobody, zero people can block him.
15:49I mean, that's just a fact.
15:51Yes.
15:52So, yeah, keep up the good work, guys.
15:54Great talking to you.
15:55All right, Ed, we appreciate the phone call, man.
15:57All right, let's not forget about the Phillies,
15:58because last night they clinched a division.
16:00It had been a long time.
16:01Let's listen to the television version,
16:03as it was called by Tom McCarthy last night, NBC Sports Philadelphia.
16:07Here's TMAC as the Phillies clinch it.
16:08The 2-2, swing and a fly ball, right center field.
16:11Castellanos going back on the edge of the track, makes the catch.
16:15The ball game is over.
16:17For the first time in 13 years,
16:21the Phillies will celebrate as National League East champions.
16:26It's their 12th divisional crown,
16:29and they'll mob each other on the mound one more time.
16:35Well, great job by the Phillies.
16:36You know, Brandon, you've been here a long time,
16:38and let's be real, 80% of that time, the Phillies stunk.
16:42Man.
16:43Right?
16:44I mean, that's the thing.
16:45I tell people all the time with the show,
16:46I'm like, Ben, you know the deal.
16:47It's like, enjoy these moments, because it ain't going to last forever.
16:51It doesn't happen every year.
16:52That's the understatement when it comes to the Phillies.
16:55I mean, Brandon, for a long time, they struggled while you were here.
16:57They on fire right now.
16:58They have played well.
16:59Yes, these last couple years.
17:00I mean, even though we didn't make it, it's just been electric.
17:03Red October.
17:04It's like, man, that was the first time I experienced it for real,
17:07and I was like, man, we got to do this every year.
17:09We got to finish.
17:10You know what I'm saying?
17:11Got to finish, that's right, which you guys did in 2017.
17:13Let's listen to the Phil's owner, John Middleton.
17:16But first, Rob Thompson.
17:17So, Rob Thompson, as he always does in these type of instances, toasting his team.
17:22They're ready to pop the champagne, the whole deal.
17:25John Middleton gets in there.
17:26The guys go wild.
17:28Here's how it sounded in the clubhouse last night.
17:31When we entered the playoffs, they said it was very difficult to get here,
17:34and to win in a division is even more difficult.
17:38So, congratulations, Rob.
17:42You still got some work to do, though, okay?
17:44You still got some work to do.
17:45You want to get that spot.
17:47That's very important.
17:48I want you guys to party tonight.
17:51But be ready to come here and play more.
17:53Now, last thing, I brought John in here.
17:56John, come on over here.
17:58Remember in spring training, the man said he wants his trophy back.
18:02We're going to give it to him.
18:04Yeah!
18:06Yeah!
18:11When I saw that, I thought, especially knowing you're going to be in studio today,
18:14which is more memorable, John Middleton last night saying he wants his effing trophy back,
18:18or Jeffrey Lurie dancing with you guys after you beat the Falcons in the 2017 playoffs?
18:23Oh, man.
18:24Remember that?
18:25Yeah, that was funny, boy.
18:27The one and only time we've ever seen Jeffrey Lurie dance.
18:30Yeah, that's when you know you got some fun guys on the team.
18:35Incredible.
18:36John, it's like when you guys almost, almost, got Andy Reid to wear the tights
18:39when T.O. almost got to 15 touchdowns.
18:41Oh, man.
18:42He got to 14 touchdowns, and that's when T.O. got injured
18:45and Andy Reid did not have to wear the tights.
18:46That would have been something.
18:47That would have been...
18:48Man, he knew the line he could draw.
18:52So, just barely safe.
18:54T.O. was going to get there.
18:55That would have been so hilarious.
18:56He would have lived up to that.
18:57He would have made good on that.
18:58There was two and a half games left when he got injured.
19:00He got injured during the middle of the Cowboys game,
19:02and he would have gotten either in that or one of the last two.
19:04Unless, actually, James and I think about it,
19:06Andy probably would have benched the whole team.
19:08Keep everyone healthy.
19:09Because Andy ended up benching everybody.
19:11Anyway, let's listen to more after the game here.
19:15Brandon Marsh, interesting stuff post-game.
19:17Look, they were all fired up last night.
19:20That was obvious.
19:21How much they actually drank as opposed to how much they actually spilled,
19:25it's hard to know the ratio.
19:26We know they certainly spilled more than they drank.
19:29We'll see who is and is not in the lineup today.
19:31Here's Brandon Marsh after the game.
19:33Final question for you.
19:34What's the celebration been like after you and your roommate, Alec Bone,
19:38go home?
19:39Does the celebration continue?
19:40Or is it like, we're going to bed?
19:43We ain't going to bed tonight.
19:45Uh-oh.
19:49We still got a game tomorrow.
19:53We got a couple more games left.
19:55We're going to get a little bit of sleeping back on the diamond tomorrow.
19:58He's like, whoops.
20:00I don't bet against one of our teams.
20:03This might be the day to bet against the Philz.
20:06We'll see what kind of lineup they field and all that.
20:08By the way, one more piece of audio related to the Philz,
20:10because there was a fan after the game I thought really summed up time well,
20:16at least through the prism of his life.
20:18Ben, have you heard this yet?
20:19You know where I'm going with this?
20:20I do not.
20:21This is good stuff.
20:22This is a guy, I believe this first aired on ABC, I think last night,
20:25Channel 6, I think.
20:27If I'm wrong, I apologize.
20:29But one of the newscasts had this.
20:31Here's a fan after the game.
20:3413 years we've waited for this.
20:36I've gotten married and divorced and had two kids.
20:40Let's go, Philly!
20:42How great is that?
20:45How great is that?
20:47A lot can happen in that.
20:48Do you think that's the order he did it in, or do you think the kids are in between?
20:51I don't know.
20:52The irony is John Rich has done the same thing,
20:54except some of the kids were before that.
20:56John, how old is your youngest daughter?
20:58She's 13 or older.
20:59She's 13.
21:00You've had your own tumultuous 13 years.
21:03Let's put it that way.
21:04Brandon, when they're in the playoffs, so you guys are in a season.
21:06Now, this one's going to be a little different, and the bye will happen as they start.
21:10Let's say in the past when there hasn't been a bye, because that's most weeks.
21:14Sunday, Sunday, Sunday, Sunday.
21:16How much can you watch and enjoy the Phillies thing,
21:20and how much do you have to turn it off to get to bed and be ready for practice the next day?
21:25How do you balance that?
21:28Wednesday and Thursday is a hard, long day, so you just try to get ready for that.
21:33But a Friday, that's a light day, so if a day on Thursday you watch it,
21:38I ain't worried about the Friday because it's a fast Friday.
21:41It's a short practice.
21:43It just depends on the day, what you got the next day.
21:46A Wednesday, Thursday, so I can't watch a Tuesday because I'm going to bed
21:50trying to get ready for the game plan for the week.
21:53You had an amazing experience, I remember.
21:55I think it was two years ago.
21:56It might have been last year.
21:57These years kind of run together.
21:58There was a first pitch deep in the playoffs.
22:00It was like, all right, it's time to bring out the big guns.
22:03So my recollection, Sixers representative was Dr. J.
22:06Yep.
22:07The Phillies representative I think was Mike Schmidt, I think.
22:10It was, it was.
22:11Okay, the Flyers rep I think was Bernie Perrant.
22:14Bernie Perrant, yep.
22:15And then the Eagles rep, Mr. B.J. Brandon Grimm.
22:18So what was that like?
22:20I mean, that was cool because, I mean, I was just going through different tunnels
22:24of the stadium that I'd never been in before, and we was getting out,
22:28talking with Dr. J.
22:29Hearing Bernie talking about, man, you got to get on my boat
22:32because we going to go fishing.
22:34How big were Dr. J.'s hands?
22:36When I was in fifth grade, they gave us a photocopy.
22:41This was in Mechanicsburg.
22:43A photocopy supposedly of Dr. J.'s hand.
22:47And it took up the entire 8 1⁄2 by 11 piece of paper.
22:52It was the whole thing.
22:54And I've never met him and had a chance to meet him.
22:57I just wondered if it was this big.
22:59Oh, man.
23:00Like that.
23:01I mean, when I dapped him up, you could definitely feel how long the fingers were.
23:06By the way, we have to mention Richie drew a picture of a hand
23:09and held it up to show Brandon.
23:12I showed him a piece of paper.
23:14It really was.
23:15It was just the piece of paper.
23:16It was the entire piece of paper.
23:18I've seen it.
23:19It's incredible.
23:20The NBA store in New York City has a couple of basketballs
23:23where they note some of the more famous NBA players with big hands.
23:27Doc's one of them.
23:28Shaq's one of them.
23:29And you see the advantage they have when they can palm a ball.
23:31And obviously Julia Locafore as well.
23:34Remember that?
23:35Do you remember that?
23:36Do you know Barkley not only couldn't palm a ball,
23:38that's why he never dunked a ball with one hand.
23:40Wow.
23:41Couldn't do it.
23:42Back to his career.
23:43Barkley always dunked with two hands.
23:45He just couldn't.
23:46If he cupped it, he could kind of cup it a little bit,
23:49but he couldn't palm it the way Jordan and James Worthy
23:51and some other notables have.
23:52All right, let's get to the phones.
23:53Rob in South Jersey.
23:54Rob, you're on WIP.
23:56Joe, what's going on, man?
23:57Hey, buddy.
23:58Real quick, Brandon, I just want to say I still watch the strip sack
24:02once a week, man.
24:04It makes me so happy.
24:05And I just want to thank you.
24:06I know your career's not over, but big performance on Sunday, man.
24:09And you're everywhere on Sundays.
24:11You are literally everywhere on that field, and I love it.
24:14Man, I appreciate you, man.
24:15You know, got to leave it all out there.
24:18Definitely.
24:19Best of luck going forward this season.
24:21Joe, I got a little anecdote for you guys from last night.
24:25So, I got two little kids, and I was on my couch last night
24:30in the top of the third inning.
24:32I live in the Mount Laurel area, which is about 30 minutes away.
24:35You can still buy tickets on StubHub up to about 40 minutes after the game.
24:39I put my little one down in the bottom of the third.
24:42Wow.
24:43I got there last night in the top of the seventh.
24:45Nice.
24:46That's awesome, dude.
24:47And for any police officers listening, I did not feed on 95.25.
24:52So, I got there just in time.
24:55That's an awesome job by you.
24:57That is well done.
24:58That is thinking outside the box.
25:00It is.
25:01Great work.
25:02I sent my buddies two videos, and I was like, how is this possible?
25:05They're like, that's not you.
25:08That's amazing.
25:09Rob, well done.
25:10That's a true fan.
25:11Call us all through October, as I know you will.
25:13Rob's a great caller.
25:14That's a great story right there.
25:16So, BG, a couple final things here.
25:18And again, Brandon with us every Tuesday at this time for a half hour.
25:22You got to be proud of the backups.
25:24I mean, you had some serious lumber that either didn't play
25:27or didn't finish this game, and Dude stepped in and did their job.
25:30Man, it reminded me, I'm telling you, 2017, where you got the guys
25:35that get them opportunities that you got to have rise to the occasion.
25:39Lane go down.
25:40I don't even know.
25:41Big Makai go down.
25:43And now you got Tyler Steen.
25:44Now you got Fred, who's been waiting on this opportunity,
25:47because as you can see, them boys was ready for that moment.
25:49Went out there and put on a show.
25:51And, man, it's only going to serve us well when you can trust all these guys
25:55that you got, because sometimes some people don't get to touch the field.
25:59I know for a quarterback, sometimes they don't get to touch it
26:01unless Jalen go down, something like that.
26:03You know what I'm saying?
26:05It's just one of those things where people say stay ready,
26:08but I know they look ready.
26:11They look ready.
26:12I was proud of them.
26:13So we'll see, obviously, in the game versus Tampa
26:15how many of them need to start, obviously to be determined on the status
26:19of some key players, A.J. Brown, Devontae, Lane Johnson, Makai Becton.
26:24We'll see on Covey.
26:26Let's talk about Tampa, Brandon.
26:28Last year, ten thumbs down.
26:32Do you feel a little something extra knowing you're going back to the spot
26:35where the season ended?
26:36And not only ended, but they got you bad last year.
26:39Do you feel a little something extra?
26:40Oh, yeah.
26:41I mean, you want to go down and get a win.
26:43That's really what you want to do, going into their territory.
26:47They sent us home last year.
26:51We definitely going to make sure we come with our good game plan
26:55and go out and execute this week.
26:56How confident does this team feel in its coaches?
27:01Oh, I feel good.
27:02We feel good about the coaches.
27:04I think it was just more of us deciding in different spots on, man, you know what?
27:09I'm going to just do my job the best
27:12and not worry about making nobody else play and go out there and be you.
27:17And I think that's really what all that message was this week.
27:20When you watch the film, as you know, when you see little stuff, you'll be like,
27:23man, if we can get him because they picked on this guy this week,
27:27they picked on that guy, all right, cool.
27:29Now we knew what happened.
27:31But, man, I'm telling you, all it is is attitude.
27:34When we stopped that run, it was all attitude because, I mean, we got the skin.
27:38We doing the same things, but I just think that it was more everybody was like,
27:43we not going to go out like we did last week.
27:45Then you find out that you're actually pretty good if you do it all together.
27:49You know what I'm saying?
27:50So let's just keep it going.
27:52You know what I'm saying?
27:53Let's not talk about it.
27:54Let's just keep doing it.
27:55That's a great point.
27:56You've done it.
27:57You know how it feels to do it the right way.
28:00I saw Jordan Davis.
28:02I saw Jalen Carter go out there and roll people.
28:06I mean, they were blowing people up.
28:08That's what we need.
28:09And if we're going to continue to stop the run, they've got that feeling now.
28:13They can replicate that.
28:15You can say, hey, guys, week three, draw on that.
28:18Rely on that.
28:19You know how it feels.
28:20I think it's a great place to be.
28:22We can jump from here.
28:24That's the only thing I'll say, B.G., when you said go do it based on
28:26what I'll talk about.
28:27I think there's at least a 75% chance C.J.
28:30Garner-Johnson is still sitting at his stool, still talking smack postgame.
28:34Like he's been there for 36 hours.
28:36Even if no one's around him, he's just talking.
28:38You know what's funny about that?
28:39We say we need that.
28:40We need all his energy because, I mean, at the end of the day,
28:43he was the one talking before the game.
28:46He was talking after the game.
28:48But this is the guy who's also talking.
28:50I know.
28:51Oh, yeah.
28:52And Fletcher Cox is yelling at him like, hey, man, not so much talking.
28:57So we got a couple guys who got a lot.
28:59Yours is more like the Merry Christmas kind of talk.
29:01His is more like the go to hell kind of talk.
29:03Oh, man.
29:04You've got a different talking style?
29:07He is definitely bringing that energy.
29:09And then Fletch still getting on me, too.
29:11You know he's calling me after every game because he's watching.
29:14You guys are this.
29:15You guys are that.
29:16It's like, oh.
29:17Wow.
29:18Now I had to call him after this one.
29:19How's he doing?
29:20That's amazing.
29:21Is he enjoying retirement?
29:22Oh, yeah.
29:23I know Fletch is because he would have been around if he really missed it.
29:26But right now he loving not having to be political,
29:29not having to ask nobody if we win or lose.
29:33I know that part is good for him.
29:36But just to keep him in a locker room, we still be talking FaceTime
29:39and having a little fun with it.
29:40Brandon, congratulations on the win.
29:42Good luck versus Tampin.
29:43Thanks for being a big part of the show.
29:44Brandon Graham, ladies and gentlemen.
29:45215-592-9494.
29:48Elliott Shur Park's next segment and also Nick Sirianni at 840.
29:52Yes, we will go inside those decisions.
29:55The town's been very frustrated with the coach.
29:57We know that.
29:58We'll talk about it with him at 840.
30:00Coming up in a half hour, Joe DiCamera and John Ricci on 94WIPAC.
